Umm... it is a university athletic department so that is one reason. The article points out several other reasons too. Still, I fully get where you're coming from. Though I do think you more correctly mean a "national spring" sport. Wait until the average highs in the northern states are mid 50's thereby delaying the season start by 30 days and extending play thru the CWS into July. I think we all scratch our heads on that. Edit: also @Nebraska55fan - still showing indiana with only 12 losses.. do you suppose it will be updated before they play today?

Michigan's struggles in game 2 and Maryland game to performances of late. (Their win against us was the Saturday game.)

He also has Michigan sweeping Maryland which I don't see happening. I think he's right at 2-2 but I think Maryland wins 1. Speaking of Maryland, they're hating on us right now. They hold destiny in their hands with Michigan and Indiana but not against us.

I get where you're going @Danny Bateman. Gotta think though.. if we throw our 3 Friday then we have 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 Saturday.

It likely creates more focus and urgency.. that's my point of "helps or hurts". Mostly, like the message as a whole, it was in context of my random thoughts.

Illinois wins 3-2 not sure if that helps or hurts us. It definitely hurts Indiana temporarily and they likely threw their day 4 starter so I'd imagine the hoosier rotation this weekend will be their friday starter vs ours. Saturday, their 2 vs our 3 (unless we throw our 3 against OSU's 1). So.. my question now for everyone is: Would you throw your 2 against OSU in the morning game? (OSU throwing their 1) or Would you save your 2 for the evening game against Indiana? Personally, I'm throwing my 3 against Ohio State and my 2 against Indiana.. Opinions please edit: another thought would be to throw your 3 on friday to setup the 1 & 2 on saturday. Hmm.... decisions decisions

I voted 2-2 this weekend. I think Michigan takes 3 also putting us 1 game behind them going into next weekend. So, even with a split this weekend the Michigan series will still be special.

The top 4 all play each other this weekend and next. Michigan get Maryland at home and the pod with Indiana getting Nebraska twice.. Could be a separation weekend. 2 & 2 on the weekend should set us up to play for the championship at home. Big BIG weekend for B1G baseball. I just had a very scary thought cross my mind. It wasn't until after the Michigan/Indiana game that our BigTen.org moderator changed (or corrected/updated) the standings showing Nebraska in the lead. It (the thought) was almost simultaneous to my surprise in seeing the updated standings. That thought... watch the game callings next weekend be totally biased against us. So, because words have power... Everyone needs to rebuke that thought now and until the end of our 4th game. I'll start, in every thing that is baseball... I Rebuke any and all incredibly stupid thoughts and words referring to a biased occurring!!! It won't happen because the B1G loves us!!!! GBR!!!!

Looking like our huskers will have gained a 1/2 game on the lead by end of weekend play. Michigan now with a 5 run lead over indiana going into the top of the 9th. Nebraska will enter the final pod set with a 1 game lead in the conference standings. I'll take that and every day and twice on Sunday

I am disappointed but I'm also very thankful. They could have just said no, they didn't, we won 2 games and they (Northwestern) gave it all they had. Respect to them. Respect for wanting to give it a go. Respect for understanding the importance of the weekend. Respect to them in every faucet of the gamesmanship.

Very True but it's not over yet. Maybe it was that weekend performance that gains them the motivation needed to focus a little more. Lets enjoy the season and celebrate when it ends. Lets wait for judgements and "if only" until the last pitch is thrown. Now and for the next however many games, lets enjoy and be thankful for the heart and determination they continue to display.

I don't think you should ever ask a school, an administration, a coach or anyone for that matter to demand you inject a substance of any kind into your body. Totalitarianism is not the way I want this world to go and frankly, fact is, a person is gains natural immunity to a virus is always much better off than one who gains it through vaccination. (That's a fact!)

Destiny remains in our own hands.. Need to go 3-1 next weekend and win the Michigan series. Do that and win the title. but first and most importantly, stay the course. Win the game within the game. Win the at bats, win with strikes, win with strong fundamentals.. If they stay focused on the "one game at a time approach", if they don't become their own fans, if they simplify the thought process and win each step, they'll be fine. Play like champions boys! Play like you've been there before and as always... GO BIG RED!!!!

Again.. gonna say it again.. Yes Warren has blame but so too does the each school administration. They could easily voted to play OOC but chose not too. If you're going to spread hate at Warren spread it also at the chancellors and presidents.
