Mods, please allow me to +1 this post two or three times. You aren’t a kid if you can safely handle and fire a machine gun in combat. Damn well should be considered an adult, and be treated as such. These are grown a$$ men playing football and joining the military. Stop coddling them.

Bingo! Machine guns are just the tip of the iceberg. They’re also being trained to work on nuclear submarines and on the decks of aircraft carriers with their fellow crew members relying on them to follow high reliability principles and procedures without fail.

I see no reason to complain about the Lubick hire.  Seems kind of odd.

Good point. It is odd to complain about it, and I’ll go a step further and say if anyone actually thinks this is a bad hire, you’re either not paying attention, or choosing to be ignorant.

“Lubick was one of three finalists for the American Football Coaches Association's Assistant Coach of the Year award for 2012. A big reason is the production his receivers turned in for Duke, which reached a bowl game for the first time since 1994.He was also named the wide receivers coach of the year in 2012 by footballscoop.com. Duke was the only FBS team in the country in 2012 with three receivers to catch at least 60 passes, led by Conner Vernon’s program-record 85 receptions.

On January 28, 2013, University of Oregon football coach Mark Helfrich hired Lubick as the Ducks' passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. He replaced Scott Frost, who was promoted to offensive coordinator. Lubick's teaching's took Oregon's receivers to much improved level in his first season with the Ducks.  Josh Huff set the single-season mark for receiving yards in a season with 1,140 - breaking a school record that stood for 43 years. Oregon set a school record for total offense in a season at 7,345, besting the old mark of 7,319 in 2011, which happened during a 14-game season.“

His recruiting is phenomenal and he’s with a guy he wants to coach with. Someone he’s had success under in the past.

This would be a change in his routine.

He stayed at Oregon for a while and would probably still be there if he had been retained after Coach H was fired. Washington was quick to pick him up afterward. I bet he stays for a while.

Son of former CSU coach Sonny Lubick.  So he likely hates CU football already, which is a plus.

I bet you’re right. Fun, unrelated fact, we live near Fort Collins, CO and have eaten at Sonny’s steak house a few times. They have some pretty cool memorabilia in there, and you see a lot of anti CU stuff.

Or ... you know ... they were paying him a pretty nice compliment which he might appreciate.

That would make too much sense for this conversation. Hell, I just heard @B.B. Hemingwayentered his name in the fan transfer portal because he said he like the way Justin Herbert’s hair flowed out of his helmet. Come on, B.B., we need you, man!

Rumor successfully started. Taking bets on when Parker “Peter” Gabriel has an article about it. He’s going to really eat this one up like he did with walk-on LB Jordan Paup 19 minutes ago.

  7. Marcus Mariota was successful in Scott’s offense. Wait, I’m sorry, this is another one of those ignorant “yeah, but” hypothetical conversations where one side complains because they didn’t get their instant gratification, right? My apologies... I’ll stay out of it.

Sadly they cant really say anything about it.. or they wont.

But something happened and sure does seem like it might have been some dirty recruiting from Miami...

Every time I think I have something, I check the board and @KnappIc has posted about it, analyzed it and moved on to the next story. I’m a D+ board member guys. I can only run a 65 sec post.

I assume he was getting it from someone who was trying to get him to stir stuff up.

Someone in Miami thought they could get a last second steal so fed BS to a reporter.

I can’t wait to see what Frost and crew have to say if that’s the case.
