Due to the fact that the developer could not confirm that reputation points would be retained I have decided to cancel the conversion to Xenforo and will leave the board on the current software platform.

I got confirmation from the developer that Xenforo may not have that feature so I have cancelled the conversion for now. The site will remain on the current platform.

The site will remain on the current server for now. If load time becomes an issue I will upgrade the server.

I made rep points a specific request to the developer.

My goal is to keep the community intact. There will be advertising to support the site but it will not be the doomsday that Hooked and others are envisioning. I will do my best to strike a balance and there will be no pop ups and fewer ads than on HuskerMax currently. Dialing those back as well. Chad and I have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.

I put it in the football forum where I thought it would get more traffic. Mavric got it posted for me as an announcement.

I have been informed by our BBS developer that they have scheduled the migration of the BBS to the Xenforo software for tomorrow (8/28) around 10 AM Central time. Depending on server speed it could take up to two hours and the board will be offline during that time frame. I will post any updates here.

The typical data that advertisers and Google collect. We use Google Analytics and will be posting the privacy policy with the bbs software update which I have been informed by the developer will be tomorrow morning.

The down time should be minimal. Past ones have been in the one hour or less range. There will be an announcement when it will happen as soon as I get confirmation from the developer. The plan is to do it before Saturday.

I have requested all of that from the developer and have been told they can import all of it. I specifically asked for the reputation score. Thanks.

The layout will be very similar to the current layout in the HuskerMax bulletin board. Yes, personal data will be collected.

I appreciate the opportunity that Chad and the owners of Husker Board have given me by reaching out and offering to sell Husker Board to me. As Chad has stated they want to focus more time on their young families. They have built a quality community and I want to keep it intact. We have had conversations in the past about selling/buying the board and this time it seemed like the right time for both of us. After some back and forth negotiating we came to terms and both sides feel that we got a good deal. There will be some immediate changes and some things will remain the same. For starters this will always be a free to register and post board. There will be advertising on the site to support the site financially and there will be news articles posted from writers at HuskerMax along with the schedule widget. I am not encouraging Husker Board members to join the HuskerMax board and I am not encouraging HuskerMax members to join Husker Board. They are two separate and distinct communities and should remain that way. The most immediate change will be migrating the site from the current BBS software to Xenforo which will happen before the first game this Saturday against South Alabama. I have spoken to Mavric and will be speaking to other current moderators and get their input and ask them to continue supporting the board with their moderating. I look forward to continue to build on what Chad's group has created for the past 16 years and make it a top notch Husker online community for years to come. Would like to meet posters here in person and you are welcome to stop by and say hello at Marlin's tailgate at the corner of 8th and N this Saturday.
