Again, there is not a lone wingnut comparing Joe Biden's every move to an extreme socialist agenda. It's the MO of every messaging and election campaign operated by the GOP.

@knapplcsaid Republicans equate infrastructure spending to socialism.  That’s simply not true.  We all understand that.

To refute my point, @commandobrought up a congresswomen referencing the reconciliation bill, which had much much much more than just infrastructure (see Joe Manchin) and that was her cry of “Marxism”.  Again, not the infrastructure spending.

It is pretty funny that other cable news sources were so pissed at Fox that they copied their model completely.

My theory is that most people really don't like to hear news.  They like to belong, and have their approval and outrage shared and spit back at them.  My issue with Twitter it is the ultimate 'hot-take' medium.  It's a wasteland of people following other like-minded individuals, creating these huge echoplexes where no one is ever put into the uncomfortable position of having their opinions challenged or changed.

Twitter is great medium to get stories you normally wouldn’t see on your own.  It’s up to individual people to follow a wide range on opinions or else what you described does happen.

Funny how "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" thinking turned conservatives pro-Putin and Russia, violating every instinct they've held for a century.

Why did Dems recently filibuster Russian sanctions?

There's no confusion. Conservatives want federal funds, too. They just want the sound bite that allows them to pretend to be fiscally responsible and against those tax-and-spend liberals.

But once the money is available, they go running back to their district crowing at how great it is that she secured these funds for her constituents.

And the constituents won't bat an eye. Because they want that money, too. They all just live in a pretend world where libruls = bad and they're the conservative heroes.

Which has nothing to do with your claim of comparing infrastructure spending to socialism.

The release came three days after Hinson voted “no” and delivered a floor speech in the US House criticizing the bill. Hinson also compared the infrastructure bill to Marxism in her Nov. 8 press release.

“It’s the biggest leap toward socialism this nation has ever seen—it takes the Marxist ideology that once only existed in textbooks and makes it law in the United States of America,” she said.

    :dunno

By the way, this was in response to the reconciliation bill, NOT a straight infrastructure bill.  Comparing apples to apples helps a little.

Funny how this much ado about nothing distraction comes out right when the TFG family gets some really bad press.

Ya, well, it was started by anyone in the Republican  sphere :dunno   It’s funny how trying to correct the false record is now considered changing the subject:facepalm:

The sun rose in the east today... and a Republican took credit at home for something they called "socialist" in Washington.

Wonder how her constituents feel about that socialism now? Think they'll hold rallies to deny the funds?

Don’t think someone should take credit for something they didn’t vote for, but I also don’t think someone should lie and say Republicans believe infrastructure spending is “socialism”.

The two justices put out a statement that doesn't at all acknowledge what Tottenberg reported - it was very specifically worded.

Tottenberg will be on All Things Considered this evening and is supposed to be acknowledging this topic; will be interesting to see how she explains it.

I disagree with your opinion on the bias of NPR, and I think it's pretty scary when we are at the point that sources like NPR, BBC, AP, Reuters and others are considered liberally biased just because they tell the truth.  Based on Tottenbergs history and past work, she is part of a very short list of people I'd consider pretty close to beyond reproach.  I'm sure there are mistakes made, and I'd expect if that's the case she will openly discuss it tonight.

I didn’t.   He could have been extra sun tanned.   You went straight to race though.   Typical for a Dem.

Can those of us that don't have Twitter do that?  The only interactions I ever have with Twitter are the ones people post on here.  I'm kind of a curmudgeon when it comes to social media...

I believe so, in the meantime if you ever want to know I would be happy to help you look into anything twitter related.

This would make his statement more believable if he just didn't assume everyone knew who he was.

Like I said, I really hope Gorsuch isn't that crappy of a person.  But I do wonder why everyone else started wearing a mask again recently except for Gorsuch.  I know many of the people that I work with that are vaccinated and boosted and stopped wearing masks in schools when given the choice.  The only reason they put them back on now is because they were mandated, but they would have been okay wearing them if asked.  But I work with pretty good people.

Ya, I had to look at his twitter bio to see his background.
