  1. Unit execution from “best to worst”: 1. Defense 2. Offense 3. Special Teams The first firing should be Frost firing himself as OC and enforcing better quality control (consequences for lack of individual self discipline) across the units starting with Special Teams. The next firing is whomever is picking the Top-5 on the OL. I’m not confident that’s actually Austin and have a feeling that keeping Jurgens in the Center role has been Frost’s pet project. I would add that I think there is a significant disconnect between the S&C plan for guys like Farniok and the lateral plays that Frost likes to call. It feels like every guy on the OL should be given a skipping rope for two weeks with no access to weights with a focus on dropping 10 pounds each and getting quicker feet. If the OC were to consider going I-formation and power football then target 5 pounds and quicker feet. But regardless it feels like our S&C is in a silo independent of the preferred scheme and that just can’t happen at this level of football. Like the Austin, I’m hesitant to fire Verduzzi as I think it’s damn near impossible to coach QB’s when the OC is running such predictable plays allowing opposing defenses to recognize and jump all the short passing routes. My last comment is from a program CEO role, Frost absolutely HAS to get the younger players some snaps. If not, we’re going to lose the rest of the young talent we so desperately need to develop, and we’ll deserve to.
  2. Just my opinion but two personnel changes result in a win. 1. Swap Jurgens and Farniok. 2. Anyone but Nelson at the OLB position. I don’t want to bag on the kid because he’s obviously got a huge heart, but if you look at the plays where he “could” have had a role, on first pass I think he played his position properly maybe 20% of the time. His overruns and lack of containment are just awful. My big problem with these issues is not the kids making mistakes, but the fact their position coaches and head coaches are not holding them accountable. If they don’t play smarter, then they need to ride the pine as in so many cases those individual players managed to undermine what the other the guys were try to do. If I were behind these guys on the depth chart I would be pissed. Ultimately that falls on Frost and he needs to stop doing a bad (too predictable) job as the OC and instead to focus on owning the quality control for the whole team....as whatever scheme or play calling issues there are, the lack of individual discipline at key positions is blowing up everyone else’s efforts.
  3. They picked on Nelson all day. He's lost in coverage. Domann and Jonas were okay. Didn't see them pass on Reimer. Watching that game you'd think Farniok is the worst OG ever or that opposing DT is all-conference. I think the truth may be somewhere in the middle.
  4. Time for Moos to have a chat with Frost. He needs to hand over playcalling duties and start holding individual players accountable as the position coaches certainly don't seem to be doing it.
  5. Others may disagree, but hat tip to the defense. Despite the ST and Offensive woes, all on your own you gave us a shot to win.
  6. Farniok again..... Wow he has been just awful today.
  7. Holy crap I hope Allen is okay. They need to penalize defensive players picking guys up like that.
  8. God, I thought he remote-controlled it back in again! Started way left and duck hooked into the middle. So glad it was short.
  9. I don't understand the deep safety in this situation who on obvious run plays at the snap backpeddles another 5 yards ensuring he has ZERO ability to get into the play.
  10. When in doubt, pass to Nelson's guy. Not a coverage guy.....
  11. Our D is running out of gas. If we don't get a fumble, it's over....
  12. Our offense is so frustrating. So, this isn't working, so let's keep at it until it does. So this is working, so let's fool them by changing things up
  13. The OT on the opposite side of the camera moved his arm up.... that's what our defensive guys were pointing at and what Frost was upset about.
  14. I don't think it's whole team. IMO, we have a few key issues that keep getting exposed over and over. Jergens & Farniok on the OL. Nelson/Payne at OLB and Bootle at CB. Upgrade those four positions and we look much smarter and have a couple more wins.
