  1. Time to give Smothers a series. Martinez is off today.
  2. As often as we have to run a two minute offense, you’d think we would be better at it.
  3. Minnesota’s punter has changed into street clothes.
  4. We sure find ways to f*ck things up, don’t we?
  5. We have run 11 plays. 3 of them have produced positive yards.
  6. Well, looks like our best case scenario will be having the frantic second half comeback fall 8 points short. That’s our jam.
  7. The yards Minnesota gets after contact are already out of control.
  8. Bowling Green held Minnesota to 10 points. That is a true fact.
  9. Hard to imagine a worse start. 3 plays, minus 1 yard and less than a minute off the clock for NU; followed by Minnesota just destroying NU’s defense on an 8 minute drive.
  10. Just incredible. How do we find ways to lose?
  11. It’s certainly is mathematically possible for Nebraska to win. 13 points is not insurmountable. However, Nebraska has not shown that they can move the ball consistently enough. Michigan clearly adjusted to what NU was doing defensively and scored on 3 straight drives to end the half. Scott Frost is notorious for getting outcoached at halftime. Weird things happen, but I don’t expect it. I don’t consider myself toxic. Instead, I consider myself broken. I now only expect the worst from NU. I just don’t see anything to give me hope.
  12. This is f*cking ridiculous. A chance to change the trajectory of the program and Nebraska comes out playing stupid and scared. Nebraska looks like they had no plan to start, and now has run out of ideas. I will be shocked if Nebraska scores in this game. This looks like a 34-0 final. NU should have kicked the FG to take the lead. Not that it mattered, because they had two brutal penalties to kill drives - which let Michigan recover from their slow start with no damage done. Michigan has clearly taken control of this game. NU clearly has no idea how to attack Michigan. This is going to be ugly at the end.
  13. Okay - what exactly is Martinez dealing with? Frost made a vague reference to what he as going through. The sideline reporter asked him about it. What’s going on?
  14. I’m in no way saying the Oline was good. However, they did enough to win the game. An 11 play, 80 yard drive that took up 5-6 minutes of the 4th quarter SHOULD have been the game winner. Then the Special Teams struck again. Again. And, lost in the abomination of the punt return for a TD was the fact that NU screwed up the ensuing kick return. MSU was kicking off from their own 20 after the personal foul penalty. It could have been an opportunity to get plus field position against a tired defense. What happened? We fumble the catch. The returner obviously didn’t know if he could fair catch after the bobble and he ends up returning it to the 18. Only Nebraska special teams could turn a 15 yard penalty on the opponent into -7 yards for themselves.
  15. He took a beating tonight. Morrison had better 4th quarter runs. But most of problem was the oline not being able to provide running lanes. Still, the backs, AM, and receivers made enough plays to cover the shortcomings of the Oline. Unfortunately they could not cover the incredible incompetence of the special teams. It’s unforgivable to lose this game on a friggin’ punt return. Unforgivable.
  16. I can only imagine what Frost, Martinez, and all those guys on defense who busted their asses all night were thinking when the fu**ing special teams completely sold them out and lost the game by screwing up left vs. right. I know they all say the right things to the media; but they all gotta be wishing they could go code red on the special teams.
  17. Just watched Frost’s comments. He literally said that the call was punt coverage right. The punter kicked it left. Is left and right different in Australia? WTF? How do we screw that up? That could not be simpler. Go right. Go right. HOW CAN YOU SCREW THAT UP????!!!???? It defies all logic that Nebraska’s special teams can cause so many losses. JUST BE AVERAGE and NU has a dozen more wins the past 4 years. Absolutely unbelievable mistakes on special teams.
  18. The Oline was getting destroyed a lot tonight. But, they did enough to put NU up 7 with less than 4 minutes to go. They were about to turn the game over to the most dominant unit on the field tonight - the NU defense. All we have to do is execute one of the most fundamental, mundane plays in the game of football - a punt. Hell, the 7 yard punt out of bounds would have been enough to win the game. But no; our guy kicks it left when coverage was running right. Yet another kick return for a TD against NU. Another game lost because NU special teams literally undermine everything good that other units have done. I know special teams is not easy. But It sure as hell is not as hard as Nebraska makes it look.
  19. Uhhhh, Nebraska lost because their special teams. A punt return for a TD there? Unforgivable. If this happened in the NFL, the special teams coach would be fired on Monday. Nebraska pays their head coach millions of dollars. The assistants all make several hundred thousand dollars a year. Do you mean none of those guys can coach special teams to be just neutral? Why do they have to literally cause NU to lose games? When NU misses a bowl game for the 5th straight season, think back to how the special teams lost this game. How they cost the Illinois game. How they kept NU from a shot at upsetting OU. It’s simply incredible that one aspect of a football team can completely ruin a program. Nebraska’s special teams have ruined this team.
