How about we start with "can Nebraska ever make a bowl again?". Once that box is checked, let's add "can Nebraska make the playoff?" and "can Nebraska win the conference?", then progress to greatness questioning.
Yes, Nebraska can make a bowl game bc all it takes is to get to 7 wins which yes we have struggled to get that amount but with the right type of players and coaches then we should be on our way. When I started the post Greatness is subjective you can take it the extreme way of going 60-3 in a 4 year span or you can go with winning a National Championship and or being one of the top programs hovering around the top of the rankings each year or like you said win a conference championship. I know we have hit a rough patch the last 7 years and or 20 or so which has really impacted the thoughts of husker fans but I tend to think that we can get back to being a contender instead of being a pretender. Just have to get there one step at a time like you said.

Isn’t Dante faster than O?
Maybe. I started to think of him as a slower Derrick Henry but I could be wrong bc we never seen his game speed just highlights from high school.

I wonder how the visit went for him and if he will commit tonight?

Breaking Down Isaiah Neyor in 8 plays and what Nebraska should expect to see when he plays. Yes he didn't crack the starting line up at Texas and he did get hurt but Texas is loaded at wr and once you get buried on the depth chart its hard to over come that at those top college programs (Bama, Georgia, Etc).

Based on a quick glance, there are only 8 teams that have done that since 1970. It's unlikely he's talking about multiple championships in a short span. A normal person talking about this would probably mean win a national championship and vie for conference championships regularly. Thanks @Moiraine for answering it. If that's the case then I still feel strongly that we can win a National Championship.

https://clutchpoints.com/nebraska-football-news-cornhuskers-coach-pitched-oregon-transfer-dante-dowdell Good read on how EJ Barthel got Dante Dowdell to be interested in Nebraska. Apparently wasn't able to redshirt at Oregon and he played in 6 games. Felt it was a wasted season and wanted to go where he was needed not wanted.

Didn't make it to Lincoln. Was only going to be in Lincoln for 1/2 a day because he is trying to squeeze in multiple trips this weekend, so it got cancelled.
So since he didn't make the trip has he moved on from us or looking at setting up another date to visit?

Officially N.
Now if we can get Banks and Dowdell then I definitely will feel a lot better with how our offense will look next season. Hopefully Nebraska is looking at bringing in another qb just in case Raiola does get hurt which I don't wish upon. Yes I know some on here said let DK be the back up but I feel he isn't ready yet and needs more time to develop, no disrespect towards him.

Didn’t realize fist bumping was so much fun for some folks! My apologies!
I don't know how fist bumping doesn't look awkward instead of a simple handshake.

He only has stats in 3 games in 2019 (including a 1 for 1 passing day), so presumably the other two they threw him out there to kneel it out or hand it off and there's a precedent for the NCAA granting an additional year in those cases.
He's played in more than 4 games in 4 years already (not counting the covid year), so it's not an immediate eligibility waiver. He'd need a a waiver to play a 5th season at all.
Gotcha thanks.

Maryland QB Tagovaiola in the portal. Would need a waiver for 2024.

He doesn't need a waiver he is a graduate transfer so he doesn't have to sit a year.

Kinda reminds me of a slower Adrian Peterson. Hate to ask but was Mike Rozier a bruiser or a combination of both power and speed? I ask bc he reminds me of him as well.

Yep. Finebaum says self important bombastic things and he’s a biased idiot. A bad combination and not someone anybody should pay attention to.
True but I wanted to know if Nebraska fans believe in that belief that Nebraska can't get back to greatness or even win get back to the level of winning a conference championship. It seems that a lot of husker fans share the same feelings as Finebaum that we won't never get back there bc like I said returning to greatness is subjective which I agree with @Enhance

https://athlonsports.com/college-football/paul-finebaum-says-miami-hurricanes-nebraska-cornhuskers-will-never-return-to-greatness Paul Finebaum states his opinion on it and says Nebraska and Miami will never return to greatness. Now the thing I'm debating is does he mean greatness bc of the multiple championships in a 4 year span or greatness in the sense of winning one?? I certainly feel that Nebraska could get back to the level of winning a championship but will say it would be hard to sustain that level of success in today's college football with so much turnover.

But he is slow!
He isn't a burner. He isn't going to wow you with his speed. He is a power back that can wear down the defense. You have to think that Ole Miss is really going to go after him bc they just parted ways with their 2 year starter. Hope Nebraska leaves a great impression on him when he comes here.

None of them are going to give him what he wants. Starting job.
Obviously those programs are looking for a starting qb so that's why they offered him. He hasn't lived up to the high ranking that the recruiting services gave him but he may be better then any of the qb's currently on those teams rosters. The one team I did question on his list of visits was TCU bc they have a returning qb in Josh Hoover granted his stats don't wow you bc he only played in 5 games but he did throw 15 td's to 9 interceptions. Plus with them adding Ken Seals from Vanderbilt you have to think now more then likely he is going to cancel that visit.

Can Nebraska ever return to Greatness

Im not a Iowa fan nor do I care about Finebaum at all but I started the post bc I wanted to get people's thoughts on if they actually believe him or are against his thought process. Right now I'd say it's 50/50 split on some do and some don't which is surprising but not shocking bc losing sucks and leaves a nasty taste in everyone's mouth. When you haven't been to a bowl game in 7 years, topics like this are a discussion and bc Greatness is subjective then you can go whatever way you choose to.
