I ask the question bc I could see a border coach taking a long time to rebuild this program. At least 2-3 years it will take that's my belief. I don't see us making much improvement in year one for sure so that's why I said 2-3 years. If its not a border coach and it is a well established coach then I could see year one improvement. Are the fans ok with waiting that long for improvement and supporting the administration and coaches?

If that is going to be the case I would go with Jeff Traylor or Deion Sanders before I go with a border coach. Jeff Traylor has the advantage of knowing Texas and could use the state for recruiting. Deion Sanders resonates with todays kids bc they know who he is.

Thats true but the fan base is already divided and naming a border coach certainly doesn't help the cause rn if fans are deciding to support the program or not.

You could pay the new head coach 8.5 or something close to that and then have alot of money for the assistant coaches. If you have the money to get rid of a coach for 15 million with no problem then you obviously have money to burn. Yes I know you don't want to throw money around like that bc it's in the millions but you pay for what you get in today's society.

Not necessarily. Maybe they understand and care about how Nebraska is a blue blood program that has won more then 900 games. There are coaches that understand the history and prestige of what Nebraska represents and would be more then willing to come here if the money is right.

Not necessarily true if Nebraska would go out and get a Chris Petersen or a Urban Meyer then we would be in that conversation. Why do you feel that Nebraska could never attract that type of coach to come here if your willing to pay???

And I believe that if you go get a great head coach your not just one of the top 3 or 4 teams every now and then you are automatically one of the top 3 or 4 teams bc of the coach you have. Its like USC having Lincoln Riley compared to Helton just saying.

Competing with the top teams in the division on a year to year basis and competing for the division and a championship. You think we have any chance doing that with USC and UCLA coming in? I feel we are going to be a middle to bottom row team if we were to hire him. I don't feel me personally that we are going to have much success with him but I could be wrong. I know its unreal to expect championships every year but that competing for them should be our goal striving for that. If you have a different mindset of what Nebraska should be striving for then thats ok. I have high expectations that I feel Nebraska should reach for even if it's not attainable every year.

You know what I believe nothing from 247 or rivals. Screw all this noise, see what they are doing. Pure speculation and now we got all of us in a frenzy. Im just going to stay positive that none of this is true and TA is hiring a great coach for us. If it does become true then I will deal with it then.

True but since he is in the position he is in then he get the full force of what comes that way even through it may not be fair to him.

That's the problem as to why other schools passed us up bc Nebraska with all that money going in to the athletic program has become cheap bastards along the way. Guess Nebraska itself has low expectations for themselves if all of this is true.

If this is going to be the case then Nebraska will have more serious problems other then just have a sucky football coach on their hands. Trev might be run out of town. This could get real ugly.

My question is why does it feel like with the names that regular being reported we are limiting ourselves in the coaching search. If you believe deep down that Nebraska has a shot to beat against USC or UCLA with him being in place good luck I just dont see it happening. I don't understand why but this could all be rumors right now anywayz. I bet you if it a boring or lame hire not much people are going to be there at the press conference.

Turn that frown upside down if your believing that Matt Rhule is out it's all pure speculation bc nobody has a clue who is in or out. I would like other coaches other then Matt Rhule to come here but I can understand why people would want him.

If Nebraska does say name a head coach that is a border head coach what benefits other then knowing the midwest and developing do they have to offer as a coach.? I ask to understand why the journalist always try to go with the people least exciting. I hope that TA understands you can't just pluck a head coach from a small school to hope a school like Nebraska is going to succeed.
