I learned that I am more disappointed in losing by 1 than by getting blown out. This was a gimme, and we just said nah and handed it right back.

I am more positive about the job than most. We have the fans, facilities, and money to be a strong program in the B1G with a chance at the playoffs. While our tradition is fantastic, many recruits don't know of it because of their youth. Our biggest sell to both coaches and recruits must be that we have the newest tech and facilities to develop NFL talent and keep talent coming in. This will lead to the coach gaining a great reputation and possibly going down as a hero/legend to the whole state. While this is the best possible case, we do still have our cons. But I believe the upside is there, and much closer than many of us realize. As to who that will be, only the One Above knows. Maybe Trev too.

@admo - I think if Trev is going the route of low ball offer until proven success then he's going to hire Mickey at 6-7 million with additional incentives of 2-3 mil if he achieves certain goals.. That said, I doubt Trev goes the low ball route. He'll spend the $.$$ to get the coach he wants. This hire is huge. Low balling an offer would be way too counter productive.
So we would be paying Mickey somewhere from 6-10 million a year?!!! You'd be willing to pay him more than the chosen one Frost with much less experience. WOW. And that is not a lowball offer. That is anywhere from 4th to 1st most made in the B1G for an assistant who cares more about the players and relationships than the money. I do agree that we will spend what it takes. Trev said so the other day during the radio interview.

Shooting my shot like Ben Simmons. It probably won't go in, but... 600!!!
Edit: It was 600! And then it was merged.

"Riley was not sure until the last 12 hours"
Translation: Riley was trying to convince his stay-at-home wife that this would be better and that she could make new stay-at-home-mom friends in Cali and that noooooo...the girls in cali are not hotter.
@teachercd would know, although I didn't know there were bushes in Cali.

Wonder what the coldest game CT has ever played in?
I would think if you were already having nerve/feeling issues that being in the cold isn't exactly going to help...
On the other hand, it could ice the affected area to where he doesn't feel it. Kind of like how you can't feel your **** while you are shoveling snow in negative degree weather.

Luke Reimer is our most consistent player on defense.

Rhule is in Lincoln. My sister in law was at a stadium tour for my nephews birthday and they saw Matt, Trev, and a few assistants walk out of a meeting room. They saw my sister in law and walked right back into the room. No idea when they’re going to make the announcement, but it’s gonna be Rhule.
You have done your job.

@teachercd has the most experience at this.
But, admittedly, that's typically outside the women's dorm.
Wait, how do you know that?
Were you watching him watch the dorm?
Stalking the stalker?!!!

It is a hire where you swing for the fences and get the best available or best fit that can get elite coaches here.
First time I’ve heard that on this thread- 1

I don't see us playing particularly amazing, but this prediction is reasonable if we play well. I feel like our D won't be completely destroyed, I'm just wondering if our O can get first downs and keep UM off the field.
UM - 34

I'm old enough to remember when we needed to stop calling so many quarterback run plays so that we could keep our QBs healthy.
Agreed, but this year is on the OL, not on QB runs. I can count designed QB runs by CT on one hand. Also, back then we had absolute hogs. We are too soft now.

Monken/Stoops
Campbell
I think you need to add some more dashes between Monken/Stoops and Campbell. My list is as follows:
Rhule
Doeren
Stoops
Leipold
Calhoun
Mickey
Patterson
Monken
