  1. I look forward to NIL eventually going away and players getting paid via contracts with schools. It’s coming, and wouldn’t have as many portal issues as now.
  2. Interesting perspective - you may be right.
  3. Technically, my company did. Taking client and his wife to the game. I expect it to be a memorable environment- excited to be going.
  4. I paid 1650 each for four tickets between the 35-40, 10th row -- not missing this one.
  5. Sept. 27, 2014 against Illinois (458 yards rushing). Rushing performance fell off a cliff after that season and hasn't come close to returning since.
  6. USC is the real deal this season, so IF Colorado beats them, it will tell us a lot about what Deion has built in a very short period of time.
  7. Based on the CU passing game, I think Huskers need at least 400 yards rushing and the TOP that comes with it, along with no more than one turnover to win this game.
  8. If they can get by Oregon, USC, and Utah, they have a strong chance of running the regular season table.
  9. Absent an 80%+ winning percentage here, having Rhule “consider this his final station” is utterly unimportant. We want wins, not average-to-worse coaches looking to cash paychecks. Time will obviously tell what we have in Rhule.
  10. Saturday’s game against Colorado is more important than most Huskers fans would care to admit, if even to themselves. Last week’s avoidable loss against Minny sure didn’t help matters any.
  11. Highest IQ position group on any football team is the OL, strongest position group is the OL, quickest position group on a pound-per-pound basis is the OL -- the OL is the ultimate skill position group.
  12. When Bob Devaney took over head coaching duties for Nebraska in 1962, the Cornhuskers had a losing record for the 6 previous seasons. Devaney's team went 9-2 that first season. Devaney never had a losing season, won 6 bowl games along with 2 national championships in 11 seasons. Tulane had experienced 9 losing seasons in a row when Tommy Bowden took over in 1997. He went 7-4 his first season, and 11-0 his second season before moving on to Clemson. Colorado had a losing record the last 6 season in a row, and 16 of the last 17 seasons total. Worst Power-5 team I can think of over that time period. So Deion & Co. is my present-day example. He's 1-0 as of now. Your "5 losing seasons in a row" qualifier makes it harder to find examples, but this is what I dug up in 10 mins.
  13. Much of what the average person thinks “culture” is, is really a by-product of results - and more than anything, it’s primarily an illusion. Intangible and fleeting. Like when Dr. Tom retired and the “culture” left with him.
  14. Caesars line on CO/NU has dropped from NU -8 to Pick ‘em (-1/-1)
  15. I don’t care about culture either (as long as everything is legal) — I want WINS. Winning cures everything. You think it’s all kumbaya in the Huskers locker room, with everyone being buddies? Highly doubtful. And again, who cares? WE WANT WINS.
  16. Respectfully, that’s sort of my point. Talent follows great coaches. Deion is going to have his pick of some great players from all parts of the U.S. Yes, the QB is his son, but that’s just one player.
  17. “Mommy, Billy won’t give me the remote! Waaa! Waaa!” LOL !!!
