  1. Even funnier is, we don't run a pistol offense. :-} GBR!
  2. It's funny you say that. I can't google the article right now but there has been accusations that Washington has piped in extra noise in the past. I don't think it was ever proven, but it's not the first time I've heard that. Thankfully there was no reason to be concerned with crowd noise after about three minutes into the third quarter. And I wasn't trying to start any acusations. I was just a little miffed to hear that. I honestly didn't know what to think. We had a discusion about 5 rows around me about it. I thought maybe I was just hearing things but then again about 40 other fans had the same feeling? That was just wierd. I was shocked at the noise levels too. Before the game someone started a "Go Big Red" cheer, and the student section started cheering and it was unreal. I dont think they pumped it in, its the canopy reflecting the sound back, just as your yell is louder when you cup your hands the stadium is louder due to the reflection, and that would also create the illusion of the sound coming from the speakers as they are located under the canopy. Good point. And maybe right on the money. But the speakers were pretty close to us and I could have swore I heard the speakers when the crowed wasn't super loud. It could have been an echo but, it sure sounded like a speaker and a recording at that. (not real good quality) the poor quaility of the sound is what caught my attention. I will not say it was comming from the speaker, without a doubt, but it sure did capture the attention of alot of fans around me.

  4. That wave went around 5 times. The funny part was when it hit the Husky fans, there were a few (maybe 10) speratically spred out husker fans and they were the only ones to stand up. LOL then it kept going after them. It was great. The only Husky fans I noticed standing were walking for the exits. LOL
  5. My family sat in the upper north side under the awning. The crowd was as loud as I've heard on a couple ocasions. I also thought I heard crowd noise coming from the PA system????? I've never heard that before, anywhere, and still don't know what to think of that. (very odd) Most of the fans were great and only a few bone heads. Over all, the experience was good. PS the directions given by UW was unbelievable. I feel like I received directions from Dell's tech support, in India..... it was like whoever sent them either had never been there or pourposely sent us on a wild goose chase. Really disapointing.
  6. Another good judgment call Joey... Joey, no offense, but you have this kid all wrong. He comes from a strong christian family, he is close with his family, and he is making the biggest decision of his young life. Hes going to take his time and make the best choice for him. Well said, ahmen.
  7. Good film on this kid! Pretty solid for his age and size. Especially when he was able to get to the second level and push a linebacker up 7-12 yards back. Who else was impressed with the QB... Dam, he made some nice throws there! Looks like he can run too.
  8. That's a good point. And also, anyones guess???? I guess time will tell.
  9. Fully agreed, for two reasons. First, look at the guy from Texas. You know the one the one that flat out quit, durring the National Championship game! Not to mention a Texas A&M game, he also gave up. And he is the winningest QB in college football history??? The O-line will be the determining factor. Second has nothing to do with quality of QB, but more about quanity. Look at Frazier, Berringer and Turman. We used all three and had one H*** of a season. I could see that play out again. Only this time, we would havd 3 QB's everyone would have more confidence in. Not to say we had none for the before mentioned. The first two, I had more than enough confidence in. But the turman-ator??? Wow, did he suprise me. I'd like to see Spano and Washington get some time and tear it up. (if even mop up duty). I think if we really need the depth and the talent is there. (especially with us leaving the B-Texas conference and the bad blood because of it) So, I have no issue with this thing being a full on competition, for a long time. GBR! Things are drastically different than they were in 1994. First, our offense isn't simply the power running game. Second while we have a good stable of RB's, we don't have LP back there to hand the ball. Third, even if our OL is much improved from last year I'd say there's little to no chance they'll be even remotely close to as good as the OL in 1994. I would agree with that completely. I was just saying, I would love to see a few QBs get their hands on the ball and suprise some Husker fans. I loved it in 94. Imo it was a huge part of the season and I loved it. Turman tore it up and I don't think many thought that would happen. It was great to watch. And I feel the o-line will be the biggest factor this season. (more than most)
  10. Feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong, but I thought the only official clock in the stadium was the one on the ref's wrist... the only clock with time left on it was a super-imposed clock on ABC... I would like to know how that works or if it ever has, in the history of any sport???? Maybe the officiating crew should call ABC everytime they feel the clock needs to be reset...... It is what it is, and it was what it was, but I have to respectully disagree! PS And its not our job, nor our concern whether Texas gets a shot at the NC or not. That shot was blown anyway once the leader of the offense sat on the sideline.

  12. It has been a while since I have been on and posted to this board. It is good to get back to it. This board is the best I have been part of.
  13. I've been a long time memeber of this board, but haven't had a sig, all this time. If anyone could make me one, it would be greatly appreciated. Anything with Burkhead would be Awesome! Thanks, in advance.
  14. I didn't want to say it, but I agree.
  15. HA! Sounds like Baylor... There are pros and cons to everything, but as a research institution, NU would benifit from this. It's a wait and see game for everything else at this point.
  16. I think it will cause alot of recruiting shakeups.. But not these two and maybe not in the way people are thiking. If we go to the big 10, and I think we will, the TV coverage will be much bigger and that may play a part in decisions as well. Who knows, but it will be exciting to watch. And I agree a complete realignment would be a bad deal imo. And the big looser in the big 12 would be Texas.. goodbye to the fist hold on control and the $ hording. Greed has been the downfall of many.
  17. Nobody knows, for sure. We should know more later today when the NCAA lays out the full list of sactions. There may be and probably will be huge changes happening. I've heard there will be an option for free transfers for the recruits that committed and are attending for the last couple years??
  18. The NCAA has not commented publicly on this yet. The full extent of the sactions have not been officially released. Does this mean these are the only sactions?? We'll have to wait and see. Also, considering the violations and the fact they are USC makes this unbelievable and just in my book. It is unfortunate for any school to go through this and certainly unfortunate for the current recruits as well as the past few years committments. That being said, it is also too bad any school pushes or breaks, however you look at it, the basic rules for recruiting. I don't know if this will help NU or not, but it will definately help someone. I think it's actually going to be worse than initial reports indicate. Some are saying that USC juniors and seniors get a free transfer, which if that's the case, piling on a coaching change, they could lose as many as 40 players counting the scholarship reductions. This could literally destroy this football program for a decade, and possibly initiate a coaching carousel, which is even more deadly. Fully agreed. This is a little off topic, but if there is a total realignment of all conferences... watch what happens with investigations after that. I think the goverment will step in and ram their collective noses up most schools rears. That could be very ugly for alot of athletic departments. The huge expenditures may be picked apart and disected.....

  20. A 2 year bowl ban, should and probably will change some minds. These kids are just not thinking if they commit to a team that can not go to a bowl. As you know, that is where they get their real exposure and opourtunity to shine in the national spotlight. It's pretty tough to sell a pinto to anyone and call it a porche. Plus it looks like USC is also loosing 20 schollarships... one in basketball and the rest in football. Thats a pretty tough hill to climb. Oklahoma can and may again attest to that. It will be interresting to see if OK even gets considered for serious sanctions.... The old used car salesman sure worked for them! GBR!
  21. The NCAA handed USC a 3 year bowl ban and at least 20 football schollarship penaltiy after a 4 year investigation. The NCAA has not commented publicly yet, but this is the peliminary penalties. There will probably be more, but this is what is known at this time. The recruits that were flip floping and went to USC are paying the toll for that decision now. WOW! I can't say, I didn't see it comming or that it is unjust to deal out the sanctions, but to have it actually and finally happen is a little unreal. Who thinks this may help a few recruits make there decisions??? And will it help the Big Red? Get the story here.
  22. I hate to add to this thread, only because it keeps it at the top of the threads, but I stated this before: I watched this kid play here in Oregon and his effort seemed to be lacking. My expectation of a dominating player certainly did not even come close. I did only see one game so I may be wrong and who really knows what he will do at the next level. As far as coaching, I think he missed the boat but, Ricky is a solid coach and does get the best of his players... no matter what it takes. I'm not a fan of his in any way but, he has produces some solid players. And I agree with the earlier poster, Owa is not real interresting to me now that he chose not to sign with NU... Thats just the nature of the game.
  23. The stats look good but the receivers were great. There were several passes low and a little behind them and the receivers did a great job! (btw, that is what they are supposed to do, just incase anyone forgot ) That could be due to good chemestry or confidence in themselves and their QB or many other reasons. Like Pelini said, winners have that confidence and bring that attitude.... something like that. I'm very excited to see Brion sign with NU. GBR!!!!!!
