  1. ahhh... Thought you were directing that at me...
  2. Friday, I would have said no chance. After watching the game first hand Saturday, I'd say we have a slight chance. I think most realistic KSU fans feel the same way. There's just something promising about watching a team down by 10 with 3 minutes left come back fighting it tooth and nail and win it in the last minute. OSU isn't the greatest D we've seen all year; but if we can build on some of the leaps we made Saturday, Yeah... I think we have a chance. We'll need some things to go our way, But I'm sure everyone here has heard that tired old cliche... Any given sunday... Or saturday in this case.
  3. I do... I like prince. I thank god we have someone that has the balls to get rid of bad attitudes. The last couple of Snyder's recruiting classes seemed to have the opinion that opposing teams would fold against us because we were KSU and we had a great Coach. I think we lost a lot of players in 2004 with the way Coach Snyder treated Darren Sproles. He was a god in his eyes and no matter how many times Darren screwed up, it was "he's human... and a crappy Darren Sproles is better than any other option we have". The team was also led to believe that Darren would carry the load. We were running the ball for 3 and out every game for 10 weeks. And when Darren fumbled, the coach put the loss on the defense's hands for not getting the ball back in Darren's hands. People don't want to play for a coach like that; he alienated his entire staff and all of his players. Bill Snyder was the greatest thing that ever happened to Manhattan Kansas. That will never go away. But we fell to where we are because of the way he allowed the players to prepare/ play/ believe that they could get away with half ass-ing it. I'm not bitter; we wouldn't have had the ability to slide DOWN to a 4 win season without him. Coach Prince came in, cleared everybody's slate, and weeded out the people that didn't mesh with his ideals. The only loss I regret was Evridge. I don't think the coach intended for that to happen. I think Evridge is a smart kid that had a lot of loyalties to a lot of people and saw that Prince was making the program his own; and this new program didn't include allot of the things that Evridge Loved about the KSU program. I don't think the Starting Job was promised to anyone. I don't think any Qb was told to leave until their loyalties were questioned. Evridg's locker was cleaned out because he questioned Coach Prince's techniques and threatened to leave the program. It sucked; I'd love to have him back. But you can't make a statement to your team about discipline and then make special exception for people. I’m sure someone will point out that Freeman has received special exceptions; I’d like to know where? I haven’t seen to many people more eager to excel in a program than Freeman. The kid is a hard worker. I think Matt Boss really was a p_ssy. I don't think he loved football, I think he was there because he had an amazing talent, and his parents pushed him towards a career that his talent allowed him to excel at. Boss didn't want to put the work in, He was probably injured, but the way I heard it was the training staff cleared him for contact and he didn't want to practice. Prince called him out on it, and he left.... If I'm wrong, Boss will end up at another program playing football and pursue a career in it. If I'm right, He won't play football, or he will only play football to pay for his education. Only time will tell. With all of that said; Yes, Prince has made some mistakes. It’s his first time as a head Coach and mistakes will be made. There were a lot of things I think he went about the wrong way of doing… I think Coach Prince is smart enough to recognize when he’s made a mistake. The picture will become clear if he continues to make those same mistakes in the future.
  4. Nope... If you want in, you're gonna have to look for scalpers. Or you can just sit in the west parking lot and watch it from our video board.
  5. Fair enough. But ISU's front seven doesn't come close to ours. And we always get up for you guys. I expect a good game. But there really isn't any reason why Nebraska shouldn't walk away with this. But honestly, this KSU team has been so inconsistant, no one should really be making any predictions. I said the running game would be the difference, but special teams could be a big factor... hows your punt and kickoff coverage looking?
  6. I'v watched every thing about KSU every day for the past 10 years. Never have I heard Freeman gaurantee a win this Saturday... I think someone is messing around with you guys.
  7. Breakdown of our D; Line: Our front 4 have been the biggest surprise of the year. LE Ian campbell, despite his size has been able to consistantly apply pressure with his speed and quickness off the line. DT Blake Seiler has also been a surprise since switching from End to Tackle. He transfered from OSU and gave up his wrestling scholarship to play at KSU. Also a little small, but knows how to used his strength and leverage to fill the gaps. The front seven regularly rotate with the backup's to stay fresh... The most notable backup is probably True Freshman Eric Childs. He's looked promising as all he appears to need is time to develope in the weight room and on the field. A very fast D-Line. Of course our only 300 lb'er in Echols makes a nice plug in the middle for the run game. LE 98 Ian Campbell 6-5 232 So backup: 96 Moses Manu 6-2 258 Jr. NT 56 Quintin Echols 6-0 316 Sr Backup: 99 Steven Cline 6-1 291 Jr DT 34 Blake Seiler 6-2 254 Sr Backup: 50 Alphonso Moran 6-0 294 So. RE 95 Rob Jackson 6-3 265 Jr. backup: 90 Eric Childs 6-3 230 Fr. LB's: We have 6 LB's that could start at any big 12 school. Speed is the name of the game with this cover two defense. Won't see too many blitzes with these guys as you would have seen under Snyder, but because of our LB'rs speed, we could stay in a 3-4 and matchup with just about anyone out there. The worst of the bunch seems to be M Backup Maurice mack. He's a solid hitter and started nearly every game last year on the outside. He was moved to middle to allow some younger guys to get playing time on the outsides. Everyone else is as solid as they come. SLB 53 Reggie Walker 6-0 233 So. backup: 37 Marcus Perry 6-1 225 Jr. MLB 52 Zach Diles 6-0 240 Sr. backup:24 Maurice Mack 5-10 215 Sr. WLB 46 Brandon Archer 6-0 239 Sr. backup: 43 Antwon Moore 5-10 209 So.- Secondary: Since losing starter Bryan Baldwin, this has quickly become our weekest area. But would still be an upgrade for many big 12 schools secondary. Marcus Watts has proved he is a pimp. This guy is everwhere, a hard hitting guy that wraps up, he rarely misses a tackle, and with his spead, he's in on every play. He's been just as valuable on special teams blocking several punts and kicks already. His backup erker has been if anything inconsistant. A young guy that is often in the right place at the right time, not always a sure tackler. He could grow up a little. Kyle williams has been a solid guy, nothing to write home about, but a spot few fans worry about. McKinney is by far our best run stopper, He's simply the best at making the open field tackle. His one fall back would be his "ohh Sh1t" moments.... I've counted too many times where he was out of postion or getting burned by shifty recievers. Our weekest corner is without doubt Garvin. He's listed as 5-10, but I'd be surprised if he broke 5-8... can't say much more... just very small. He's had several starts and has held his own... But he's just a matchup problem waiting to happen. CB 6 Byron Garvin 5-10 180 Jr. Backup: 13 Joshua Moore 5-10 168 Fr.- FS 2 Marcus Watts 6-2 180 Jr. Backup:18 Andrew Erker 6-0 195 So. SS 9 Kyle Williams 6-0 201 Sr. backup: 20 Courtney Herndon 5-11 201 Fr. CB 22 Justin McKinney 5-9 185 Jr. backup: 12 Devin Anderson I can't wait for this game... Several wildcats have been circling this date on the calander. I'll tell you this, this game is going to come down to the running game. If Nebraska can hold KSU to under 4 yards a carry, you should easily walk away with this one. Our o-line remains a work in progress and it seems as soon as we repair one leak, another sprouts up. Against OSU we were able to establish the run, if we can continue that and provide Freeman with some time for the long passes to keep you from loading the box, this one has all the earmarks for an upset. Here's to an injury free day of college football. Good luck.
  8. Also heard this - but heard it was more vocal than physical... But what coach hasn't gotten into a skirmish with his assistants. We're also hearing reports that Coach Prince is going to take over playcalling for the rest of the season and our OC is gone after the season. Regardless, it's clear that changes need to be made.
  9. Just to add to the rumor... The only difference I've heard from the program from this story is that Boss was cleared by the trainers for contact, yet he came out of the locker room without pads on. The trainers never told prince that he couldn't practice; and that is why prince called him a p__sy. Not condoning his actions... but if any of you have ever played a team sport, there's always that one lazy kid that can never practice because he's "hurt". I'm sure prince was just calling him out to get him to practice. What I also find funny about this story is a clavicle IS your collarbone... Not sure how a collarbone could be dislocated from itself. Apparently his parents don't really know anything about the "injury". If it were my kid, I'd be an expert on the injury.
  10. That's the rumor going around... But honestly, that would be a pretty odd split... Currently there are only 2 starters that are actually "princes" guys. Freeman and the running back Patton. If there is a division of the team I would say it is not between who was recruited by snyder or not, but who Coach Princes percieved "favorites" are.
  11. I'm not really upset with Coach Prince... I think the current defections are a reflection of the attitude problem we've been dealing with for the past two years.... I know someone in the program, and the F-bomb and Coach fighting with an assistant rumor is grossly exagerated. I still have faith in this program; But honestly I knew there were attitude problems on the team during the 04 & 05 season. I'm just glad we finally have a coach that has the balls wipe that cancer out. I guess everyone has to be humbled every now and then; it just sucks the fans have to be embarrassed along with the team.
  12. You guys went through a drought... but you never lost to Baylor, so I don't expect you to understand where I'm at right now. I'm still optimistic... Just hard not to be a realist at the same time. If we have a better performance this week, I'll feel like we have a chance... But after we played Saturday; It's hard to find a winnable game this year. Colorado is starting to look like a tough game.
  13. Well, If they don't televise it, atleast you guys could probably get some cheap tickets... I'll be in section 13 row 16 seat 32... Feel free to come and laugh at me for KSU losing to Baylor.
  14. Doesn't matter... We suck. I'll be happy if we go to a bowl this year... Looking less likely by the day.
  15. Sorry... Had to join in on the KU bashing fun. Mangino's latest press conference. Mangino's acceptance speech after receiving his latest contract extension.
  16. Was wondering if anyone knows of a bar in San Francisco where there might be some KSU fans watching football. (yes, I realize I left an opening for gay jokes) I thought if anyone knew it would be Husker fans, as you seem to be all over the world. Thought maybe there was a Big 12 watering hole that someone may know about. My Sis who lives in San Francisco, is a huge KSU fan, and is pretty stoked that This weekends game is going to be televised in the bay area. My sister thanks you for any suggestions you may have. Also, looking forward to USC vs. NU matchup... Hope you blow out the condoms.
  17. There's your problem... That forum sucks egg. Bunch -o- homers there. Looking for civilized KSU forum go to: www.ksufootball.com Looking for smack talk against fairly knowledgeable, but arrogant KSU fans go to: www.ksufans.com Looking for KSU morons go to the scout link posted above. Good luck in So Cal.
  18. I do. Can't speak for the rest of KSU, or even know your level of hatred for CU... But I absolutely hate Colorado and have never met a CU fan that I respect.
  19. I don't really find any of this funny. For the Record, I don't believe Prince is or has pushed any of he QB's out. Webb had his scholarship removed because he was told that if he didn't get his academics in line by taking summer school, he wouldn't have a scholarship until his grades were in check. Webb decided he'd call his bluff and spent the summer hanging out in Denver. Good riddance. As for Evridge, with the depleted depth at QB whoever was third in line was going to end up on the scout team. And I think he left because Prince finally released an internal depth chart. Imagine being a Young QB that has been a starter in the past, and was expecting to have a chance at being a starter at KSU for years to come, you have athletic ability to push for starting time at many BCS schools, Only to find out that you were going to be running the scout squad this season. What would you do? Wouldn't you want to give yourself the opportunity to take your game to the next level by being a starter somewhere? All he could have hoped for after this season is being a backup to Freeman. Regardless of Freeman being the real deal or not remains to be seen, But I believe that the coaching staff is treating him like he's the future. How do you tell a guy that used to be a starter that the only playing time he'll get for the next 3 years is if Freeman gets injured or to play mop up duty. I can't say I blame him, although I am p1ssed and am not as optimistic about this season as I was this morning. To answer another question... If Both QB's go down, someone will be playing injured.
  20. Only guys on the Roster are Dylan Meier and Josh Freeman. There's also a grey shirt Carson Coffman. Coffman has a decent blood line... Dad: Paul Coffman was a Tight end for us, and he may be the brother the MU QB. But I don't know when he'll be available. 07 maybe?
  21. In case anyone cares; It's been confirmed that A. Evridge has been granted a release in his scholarship. Clikn Zk Here. *FBWillie opens Mouth* *Inserts Shoe*
  22. One other thing; The KSU vs. NU game will be "Harley Day" It's one of our newest traditions going back 15 years or so. Not every game is like that, we typically reserve Harley day for the biggest home opponent of the season. So that just shows you how highly KSU thinks of Nebraska. Basically, a select group of Catbackers bring their "hogs" into the stadium, circling the field, revving their engines... Depending on your location in the stadium it is the loudest thing you can experience at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. They usually have anywhere from 200 -300 Harley’s in there. It's good times. So just know that going in we are all not greasy bikers and that is not a game by game tradition, but just a once a year occurrence.
