  1. Couldn't agree more. I wonder which one of those QBs is going to meet Mr. Carriker and Mr. Moore first.....
  2. Umm... I'm confused... someone please explain this quote: New kid on the block First-year Kansas State coach Ron Prince said to forget about calling him Bill Snyder’s “replacement.” “I think that’s absurd when you have someone who did arguably perform the greatest coaching job of this last century,” Prince said. Lincoln Journal Star
  3. Interesting story about team bonding during the summer when the coaches aren't around. It's a fairly long article. SportsIllustrated Article
  4. Taylor and Carriker make ESPN Analyst Ivan Maisel's 3-Point Stance. Tuesday, July 25 1. There's no question in my mind that the Big 12 Most Valuable Player will be Nebraska quarterback Zac Taylor. Why? Without him, Nebraska's offense won't have much value at all. Now, if that offensive line can protect him … 2. You've seen Texas coach Mack Brown on the sideline intently looking at the field, bent over at the waist, hands on his knees. Better view? No, his left knee hurt so bad that Brown stood that way for relief. He had the knee replaced nine weeks ago. While he begrudgingly admits he'll use a golf cart next month, the knee gets better every day. 3. Nebraska defensive end Adam Carriker credits his 9.5 sacks last season to his senior year at Kennewick (Wash.) High, when he played quarterback on an 0-9 team. Carriker said he got hit so much that he decided to take his revenge on opposing quarterbacks. Unfortunately for the Big 12, he's not done yet. It is on the front page for ESPN's College Football News. Left side of page. 3-Point Stance
  5. I agree. I believe we are in a good position to take the Conference Title this year. We return a lot of experience and very skilled athletes. Of our losses last year, two could have gone the other way very easily (although I was unable to watch), and the other two were just games where our guys didn't show up ready to play, perhaps overlooking these teams. I know that we are much better than we were last year, and Texas and Oklahoma don't seem that much improved. I think Texas lost some key players and Oklahoma seems to be the same team as last year. I'm ready to go KC and stomp whomever shows up on the other sideline!
  6. While we might not be as completely dominant as we once were, I think that, considering the direction we are going, we will be able to be extremely competitive in the national scene as we once were. No we might not have a chance at 3 or 4 titles in a row, but I believe there will be a time where we can have back-to-back titles on several occasions.
  7. IMO, Crouch should have taken over after Allen went out with the finger injury. Wynn is a good passer, but has no pocket presence or escapability. I think Crouch would make the Argos offense a little more versatile.
  8. I watch CFL all the time! I've been waiting for Crouch to get his chance to shine! Too bad it had to come at someone else's expense though.
  9. When was this?? after he committed to miami. Do you know where I could find this statement??
  10. The best part about Jerkeye fans already running their mouths will be when they choke against ISU, Mich, and Ohio St, and then proceed to explain how it wasn't their fault they lost (mostly referee/clock issues). I can hear it now.... "Wha ha ha ha happpened was...."
  11. I always knew ZT was a stud!! I tell him after every game on Facebook!! LOL
  12. Top of the page. Can't miss it. College Football News
  13. I think Michigan, as well as much of the Little 'Leven, get more media attention due to their location as well. There are a ton of media outlets in the eastern US where most Little 'Leven teams are located.
  14. The Big XII's Official Website has posted the first day's worth of transcripts. It's in a PDF format. Link
  15. That's what I was thinking. We used to do that for State Basketball (we ended up choking my senior year). I think it takes a little bit of the shock away when you get there for the game, even if there aren't any fans in the seats.
  16. I suppose a link would have helped. Link
  17. CSTV has a crew in KC checking out the Big XII media days. They are posting in a blog, it's not very impressive, but apparently Callahan took the team to Arrowhead Stadium. Guy Morriss (Baylor HC) was asked if he'd do the same, and he replied that they weren't there to go sight-seeing. In my opinion, they should go now since it will be a while before they get to go back for another media day.
  18. I also like the lower ranking. As far as ND goes, their stats from last year were inflated by the lack of competition on their schedule. They only played 3 or 4 teams with a winning record. When they actually did play better teams they were held to average performances. I'm not saying they don't have the ability, I'm just saying they might not be THAT good considering the teams they played last year.
  19. Personally, I don't hate ND. I just hate the way the media always makes them out to be one of the best teams every year. They could lose all their starters and the entire coaching staff, but the media would still predict that they are going to destroy all of their opponents and win title after title. I just thought it was nice to see some coverage that isn't as biased as most media outlets.
  20. Also, for anyone with ESPN Insider, there is a preview of Nebraska posted today plus a wrap-up of Ivan Maisel's chat about the Big 12 media day/season preview. Unfortunately, Insider costs money, money that I am not willing to spend, otherwise I would just copy it all and post it here for everyone to read. FoxSports will have their preview of the Big Red Machine on August 15th, since I'm on the subject.
  21. Here is CFN's picks for nos. 11 through 20 going into the season. I think it's hilarious that we are ahead of Notre Dame, at least there is one unbiased coverage outlet!! Link
  22. SportsIllustrated's Stewart Mandel seems to think Iowa will make the NC. IMO it's just another setup for Iowa to fail and hence be another overrated teamt that does not meet expectations. LINK Comments??
  23. For sure, the man is a beast. Amazing how far an offseason of hard work can go.
  24. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks!
