Something even more interesting about the whole Bomar ordeal. It was mentioned on the local radio sports show, Bomar was apparently paid for working at the dealership when he was in fact at Spring practice.

What's the atmosphere like around College Station this year? I have an Aggie friend whose counting down the days until Coach Fran leaves. Leach is a pretty good coach and I'm surprised he hasn't been asked to go to a bigger school.

In the North you have Coach Hawkins at Colo. Mangino slowly but surely improving the Jayhawks. ISU with what could be it's best team in a long time. KSU with a new untested coach. Mizzou with a QB whose been impressive. And of course NU who is looking really good following the end of last year and with so many starters returning (some young). In the South you have the OU scandal. UT with a huge QB void. A&M whose done nothing but struggle under Coach Fran. Baylor who could be a thorn in someones side but not on a consistent basis. Tech who isn't known for their strong defenses and OSU whose going thru some big rebuilding pains.

That's a real good point. You almost have to wonder if some of the QB commits will reconsider their decision and give OU a closer look. With regard to AD, I think the NCAA will come in and look closer at that. OU is the one who did the initial investigation and cleared him, not the NCAA.

I've long held the belief the power and dominance exerted by the South would slowly shift to the North and the South would then become the whipping post of the Big 12 in some sort of cycle. I'm wondering if we're starting to see that happen now

No. Tech may have 4 returning WR's and a QB who is touted to break all sorts of team/school and NCAA records but their defense is weak. That's going to be their achilles heel this year. I think UT will win the South. A&M is struggling, OU is going to stumble a couple of times. OSU is going to struggle just to keep it's head above water. But this just my uneducated guess/opinion

Some of the local sports reporters seem to think this is just the tip of the iceberg. Several months ago, the basketball team was on the hot seat. Now the football team. And I have to believe the NCAA is going to come in a take a closer look at the whole AD car-deal. OU cleared him, but the NCAA never came in and investigated. It's interesting to me that Peterson returned the car around the same time the dealership switched owners.

This mornings local paper has a huge article about the previous General Manager of Big Red Sports. He claims he had no knowledge about what was going on. Ironically, he was a huge Sooner fan and I believe a booster. You can't tell me he didn't know. Stoops is supposed to hold a press conference today at 3:15 CST to address this (and I have to believe the QB situation will be a hot topic) after which he'll join his players on the field to start practices. It'll be interesting (and I'm sure the media is going to be watching like a hawk if they can) to see who is under center. One report has their Juco transfer from Cali being the possible starter but ouinsider.com was reporting Paul Thompson would be the starter. Ag...those pics are hilarious!!!!!

New guy here I have to wonder if AD's car deal was the reason OU started looking into Big Red's ongoings with it's players. I've been listening to the local sports radio channel here and there's a lot of speculation going on right now. Could the NCAA punish OU and Bomar? What is going to happen to the dealership. Bomar reportedly was scheduled to work 5 hours a week but for tax purposes he reported he made $18,000 (that's a whopping $69 a hour) Could the IRS be interested in looking at the dealerships books? Could they come after Bomar? Definitely a good time to be a Huskers fan in Okie Land
