  1. As long as Lucky stays healthy and he performs on the field he will be the starter regardless of the committee comments. I like the way Cody runs. He is a brusing running back. But overall I think Callahan will play Wilson more. He can pound it up the middle and he has speed on the corners. He also has a good pair of hands. He caught quite a few passes down at that community college. Cody and Jackson will still get plenty of game time. But who knows what's going to happen. The way running backs tend to get injured any one of them could end up starting. But they are all talented.
  2. I didn't think of it from that point of view. I'm sure it was quite a disappointment.
  3. Yeah, they have moved on. Troy is going to get pounded. Callahan will continue to emphasize the run and Wilson will have a good day. A real good day. I still haven't decided whether or not to pay for the Troy game. thirty dollars is a lot of money. I think I'll just go to a sports bar.
  4. Anyone hear an update on Lucky? Is his arm still in a sling?
  5. We do need some bigger defensive backs in our secondary. Overall we need to recruit better in this area. JC transfers are a great quick fix but we need a couple of studs to come in as freshmen. Then we need a couple of more for depth. We already have three DB's in our 2007 class. Hopefully one or more will be the real deal. Blue is 5' 10" Sullivan is 5' 11" West is 6' 1" From what I've read we also are in on several JC studs. We have a very good defense but not a great one. Until we step it up in the secondary we will continue to have a whole that good accurate QB's can attack. Bowman's loss exposed a huge weakness. We will be better next season though.
  6. Their top receivers from last season: Hampton 6 - 1 175 Banks 6 - 1 196 Rutledge 6 - 2 199 Williams 5 - 10 162 Allen 5 - 10 192 They also have 3 or 4 big TE's that are 6 - 3 and 6 - 4 but they probably won't use them too much.
  7. I thought we were going to see Cody in for the TD as well. I've got a feeling as the season progresses we will be seeing more and more of Wilson and Lucky. Jackson and Cody will still get some carries. But the lions share will be going to Wilson and Lucky. And by the end of the season Wilson will be a monster.
  8. This should be a good game for Andre Jones. This is a chance for him to step up and get some great experience. He has a lot of talent and should get better and better with every game he plays. The trojans have changed to more of a passing offense and they have a good QB to run it. Omar Haugabook threw for over 2700 yards last season at his JC.
  9. Zac's at 167.8 which puts him 13th in the country. It's most likely going to go up a bit this weekend after we play Troy. 10. Octavien sure has started the season slow. Total defensive tackles so far this season: McKeon 17 Bradley 17 Grixby 14 Green 14 Ruud 14 Carriker 11 Octavien 9 Jones 9 Shanle 8 Steinkuhler 7
  11. Troy will be pounded down by the middle of the 3rd quarter. Our offense will feel they have something to prove and our defense will be pissed we didn't win last week after holding USC to only 28 points. Troy returns only 3 starters on defense. Troy is 0 - 3 against Nebraska and they have been out scored 103 - 30 in those three games. Ganz will be in by the late third quarter and the trojans will be done long before that. NU 49 Troy 9
  12. He is probably done for the season. He might be able to come back but I imagine the longer he is out the longer it will be before he is back in playing form. The good news is Byford is doing a lot better than we could have expected. Now if Byford gets injured we are in a pickle.
  13. Well there probably aren't going to be very many 5 star recruits in Nebraska. At least compared to what they will have out in California. USC can lock up the best instate talent and get a boat load of players. And most of then will be 4 and 5 star recruits. What do they have out in California now, 40 million people? That's a lot more football talent than we have here. So Callahan has to go out of state to get a lot of our players. I think we can rise again, and at some point win another national title, but we still need to do a lot of rebuilding. I fully expect us to win the north this year, which is a huge step in the right direction, but we have got there with a lot of JC players. Which are a temporary fix. So is Keller. I quess what it comes down to is time. This is only Callahan's third season. If he had a few more recruiting classes under his belt we just may have pulled off the upset.
  14. Wilson fumbled twice in the first game and ran hesitant at times. What's their excuse for him getting the bulk of carries in the last game? Lucky banged his elbow up. His arm was put in a sling and he didn't go back in after that.
  15. WOWT tv's on-line tv schedule shows it coming on at 1135 tonight Cox channel 8.
  16. I think one advantage is USC's running back may have talent but they are inexperienced for the most part. That will effect their ability to pass block. We'll get to Booty. With a little luck we will put so much pressure on him he will throw a couple of picks.
  17. I'm as jacked for this game as I was when we last played Miami. But I have to admit, this time I'm much more confident of a win.
  18. Lucky gets the chance to play in front of his family and he is going to have a great day.
  19. Actually I like his confidence and I really don't think USC is paying much attention. Most of the players don't give us a chance anyway. But I sure do hope Jones gets a pick or two to back up what he said.
  20. It's to the point were I don't mind the bashing anymore. All it does is give more motivation to our players. Besides after we win the media will probably just make excuses.
  21. I can't sleep either. My cable has gone out several times this week. It better not go out tonight or I'll be very pissed.
  22. This is going to be a great game. I have to figure out something to do until the game comes on. I'm going to be antsy all day. Good thing I don't drink anymore or I'd probably be snockered by the time the game starts.
  23. I might end up muting my tv and turning on the radio for the game.
  24. Actually we may be one of the few teams USC plays this season that has a realistic chance of beating them. But on the flip side if we win this game will set us up for a monster of a season. Think about it. If we are good enough to defeat USC in their own house is there really anyone in the Big 12 north that can challange us? When we beat USC we will have as good of a chance to run the table as anyone in the country.
