  1. Zac Champion is going to have a long day getting sacked. And sacked, and sacked, and sacked. Jim Rose just said Barry Turner was out on the field, before the delay-of-game penalty. Also said we rotated another DT in, missed the name, think it was Suh though...did anyone catch that?
  2. Yeah, that. I'd much rather play against Snead in October than Colt McCoy, who's doing better than I would have hoped.
  3. Colt McCoy is looking pretty good. They should totally start Snead! On the other hand, Michigan is inexplicably struggling against Vanderbilt.
  4. No writer is gifted who has to use swears by the bushel to get his point across.
  5. Still, there's something to be said about coming back from 21-7 and winning by 10. That USC team deserves credit for sheer resiliency. If we put up a 3-touchdown lead on them, I wouldn't feel secure unless we were halfway into the fourth quarter. I've learned better anyways. We've blown leads before. OU in 2000, and Mike Moschetti...oh, that was an awful second half.
  6. THANK YOU! I was definitely freaking out over that one. So the lineup is now 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Flex WR/RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF - looks good. I think with the flex position, 12 should be fine, maybe one more bench spot at the most...I mean, if you get into too many rounds, we'll get into drafting No.4 WRs and 3rd-string running backs, which are often pointless. Thanks again
  7. Thanks Blackshirt! That should be okay for me. One last question (don't mean to be a nag, but...) before I prepare my draft order...do my eyes deceive me, or is that "start 2 QB" and not "carry 2 QB"? O_O Never seen that before, so just want to make sure.
  8. Hey. Stewart Mandel's NCAA 07 predicted us to go to the Title game.
  9. Yeah, just make sure you adjust your pre-draft rankings to suite your taste.
  10. A calm day at the park offers pleasant escape for local denizens.
  11. I'll take Tue or Wed, 10-1 Thur 10-1 Mon 1 If you could do a random draw before the draft, that would be nice. It would help us prepare accordingly, instead of readjusting 30 minutes beforehand... If we could pick draft spots (assuming there are no disputes) that would be nice too...maybe too nice though, so I won't push it.
  12. Aim9, What time zone are you talking about? I would be glad to do it at noon EST. 3 EST may be a little bit of trouble depending on how long it takes. If Friday's okay, let's get a quick consensus on available times. For clarification, I'd prefer any time slot from 9EST (way too early for west coasters, I know) to 2 EST. 3EST is okay, but iffy. (EDIT) I checked your user profile and it says your location is in Omaha, Nebraska, which is Central Time. Noon central time would be 1EST, which would also be perfect for me. So to ask others in the league - how does 12 Central/1East/11 Mountain/10Pacific sound for a draft time? (Second Edit) I read the first post again and it looks like you can't arbitrarily change the time - is that right? So it's either noon pacific or Sept. 8th? Also, just to clarify again - how many rounds is this? I'm preparing for this as if it were a 12-rounder, which is what I assume given the position requirements.
  13. I'd say it was all Kenny Wilson's amazing talent if he juked everyone out of their socks and took it to the endzone, but that's not exactly what happened. He had two, three guys holding on to him, and he just barreled on and they just fell off. Now, as much as we'd like to believe it so, Kenny Wilson is not The Hulk. What happened just doesn't seem natural. By all rights, he should've been brought down. While it's promising to see this from one of our RBs, it also was sloppy defending on the part of our defense - at least for that play. If our defense played like that during games, I'd be very scared. Luckily, I don't think that'll be the case. As others have said, it was a scrimmage, and these things happen during scrimmages.
  14. Jim Rose's play-by-play is very entertaining, however
  15. Nebraska 37 LA Tech 17 Rush - 168 Pass - 219 (387 total)
  16. Alright, cool. I just signed up as Southern Cornucopia...just a random name I made long ago and stuck with.
  17. Just a question - what are "husker bucks"? Unfamiliar with the term. It's a free league, right? Also, currently listed draft time is Friday at 3 Eastern...noon huskertime would be 2 eastern, no? If not, any chance we can move it to 2?
  18. Octavien lost a bunch of pounds with his surgery, if I recall. At any rate, I don't care. Ruud has had a season of experience under his belt and he's going to be fine.
  19. That's true, it's the great thing about Denver. Then again, if Ross becomes wildly successful there, it's anyone's guess what's going to happen to him after. Re: Olandis Gary, Mike Anderson, Clinton Portis, Reuben Droughns.
  20. I don't think that was sarcasm. "Nebraska NEEDS you; UF, FSU, Miami want you." That's quite a pedestal. Because you know what? We don't need him at all
  21. Well, I think recruiting is just not a pristine process. You're promising the world to kids when often you know you can't deliver. No coach is blameless in this; we can be as Husker prideful as we want, but recruiting is just not a wonderful, perfect system - as long as there is such a demand on bringing in the highest rated players and building the best teams. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it is. That said, if this (OU) writer wants to talk about dirtyness and corruption, what's more dirty? Telling a future pro prospect that his status as a pro prospect is better at a school with a pro-style offense and not facing NCAA probation, or a school where two players were booted for severely violating ethics codes?
  22. I do think Lucky deserves this #1 spot, and I'm glad he's got it. He just seems to be the complete, all-around feature back with the knowledge and skills to merit that position, while all preseason we've been hearing about the specials of the other guys. That said, we have a VERY crowded backfield. Lucky is a major talent. If he doesn't get a ton of playing time - if he doesn't start through the season - I would not be surprised if he leaves. Not a knock on his talent or his mentality. It's just, with a backfield this deep, one wonders if it would not actually be best for him to try his fortunes elsewhere. That said, I hope he stays and has a heck of a career here.
  23. There's 75 players on the Ravens roster, which will have to get whittled down to 53 by the end of the week. Cory Ross is going to have to do some impressive things to stay on the roster. Mike Anderson is a fullback. And yeah, Lord got cut. Unfortunate, but I just don't see him as a DB.
  24. If they were to use a 3-4, that would most likely bring in Philip Dillard at one of the inside linebacker positions. Ruud and Octavien are both Weakside. That said, I love our linebacking depth and hope both see significant time. And now we can go back to shouting "Ruuuuud"!
