  1. Who cares about next year, I just want this year to start. Taylor, Ganz and Hildebrand for this year. If ZT goes down I believe Ganz will be able to hold his own with the improved line and running game.
  2. Unofficial sources are now reporting that Sam Keller, Jimmy Hoffa, Elvis, some guy that's been living on a desert island since WWII and the teddy bear I lost at summer camp when I was 6 have all just landed in Lincoln where they were escorted by glowing beings from area 51. I can't wait to see Teddy again!
  3. Hey, the right attitude and hard work go a long way. He just may end up being the little quarterback who did rather than could. Hey if Keller comes on board that would be great but I'll still be rooting for Ganz.
  4. Dear Coach Callahan and press, We've been hearing a ton of stuff regarding QB's here at Nebraska all through training camp. That's all well and good, it's been enjoyable. First the Beck thing, then the rehashing of past QB's and now Keller. While we've heard from young Mr. Ganz we haven't heard much from young Mr. Davis. Again this is all well and good. I just wanted to make one comment regarding the young Mr. Ganz. Thus far I have been very impressed with his attitude from what the press has reported and I wanted to say it to somebody, anybody that cared to listen. Mr. Ganz, you've made a lot of fans out here in Huskerland, said all the right things and shown great charector. Now for my request to the coach and the press. Please give us some footage of this young man in action, just a little glimpse on the news. He strikes me as a confident, not cocky, laid back young man much in the mold of a young Mr. Taylor that we are all so fond of. A little note to young Mr. Ganz. Give'm heck Ganz and don't be suprised to hear some of us yelling your name when you come through the tunnel. Just our way of saying keep up the good work and keep fighting for the starting job. Mr. Davis, we hope to see you as well. May the best MAN win.
  5. Right now my money would be on OU. History shows there are a lot of perks down there............if you don't get caught that is. Besides as much as we love the Huskers Stoops has a much more "proven" program.
  6. Michigan was sooooo bad last year they are ranked higher than we are in many polls again this year. That's cool, they're just polls. It will be a good year to see what happens on the field and ignore the polls. It will also be nice to see if CU is still giving up this year, and next year and the year after and so forth.
  7. This game will NOT be a defensive struggle. My understanding is that their offensive line is top notch. USC WILL put up big points this year. Our game with the could turn into a horse race real easy. The offensive is going to need to be clicking big time on their home field for us to have a chance.
  8. IMO Taylor could care less about the Heisman. He's more focused on team success. That being said he/UNL won't promote him as other programs will their guy thus it's a snowballs chance in July even with a huge season.
  9. That's till a pretty solid list. It appears that these were all QB's that were hard to put a hand on rather than hard to bring down. Frost was hard to bring down but not illusive. Crouch was more illusive and was hard to bring down as well. If the category was for QB's that dish out hits rather than take hits Crouch and Frost would be at or near the top of the list.
  10. I can only believe that it has something to do with the rep we get still today after the whole LP thing (incidently I think TO handled it correctly) and a few others with "trouble off the field". Just a guess though. Hey the guy didn't break any laws, he's going to play somewhere and he fills a need we have. I don't see the problem. Besides, if his off the field activities are what the rumours make them out to be the Lincoln PD will be sitting on him most every weekend anyway.
  11. Opinions, everybody has one and.............you know the rest LINK BELOW My Webpage I'm getting tired of hearing how bad MI was and how CU gave up. We beat them both and very few feel it is even worthy of a mark in the W collumn. I tell you id was darn worthy when I was jumping up and down screaming and high 5'n everybody and anybody with in arms reach.
  12. IMO there will be a starter but several will get equal playing time. That being said, any back except Wilson may get the nod to start. BC will give a small and nearly insignificant nod to one of the guys who's been riding the pine while pork chop was here.
  13. There are several factors to consider. One of which is our lack of patience to get back on the winning track. If BC is going to build NU back to the glory days he needs to be able to stick around long enough for that to happen. Bringing in JUCO talent is a way to help ensure that can happen. Besides, how many of these JUCO kids come out of highschool with issues in their grades or home life. 2 years of JUCO can help a kid mature and get back on track. Call it a second chance. I've recieved second chances and have appreciated all of them. How many of these kids are convinced in HS that they can't make it at a major college because of grades or lack of talent. The JUCO system performs a role in academics as well as athletics. I say bring'm on. The flip side is how the Pro game is effecting the college game. How many top college players will leave school this year with eligibility left to go play pro ball? All of these things must be considered. All of us would like to have home grown kids going through the system from start to finish but that's less likely every year.
  14. Take away the run early, rotate in fresh legs on the D line and bounce them around a little, then let the D pin their ears back and GO! My biggest concern is the secondary being too aggressive with a point to prove and getting out of position.
  15. Who cares about the screen? The real issue is no respect for the program. I look forward to the 06 season.
  16. I believe USC will again be an offensive powerhouse making a win on thier home field a horse race. We will need to be able to put up a lot of points and do so in a hurry. A good ground game to keep the linebackers and secondary honest with the short to medium range passing game clicking on all cylinders will be a must. Cosgrove will need to find a way to keep pressure on the QB to prevent them from having the time in the pocket to throw the long ball and thus prevent the big plays in the passing game.
  17. The RB reports kinda make you wonder doesn't it. That's the problem with scrimmages. Your comparing your team to your team and then saying your great! Makes you wonder if the offense has improved enough to make expose the weakness of the defense or if the defense has slipped enough to make the offense look really good. Maybe neither. My point is that scrimmages can tell you if guys are executing based on the competition but tells you nothing about how they will play agains the real competition.
  18. CU's got something they call fan camp. I suspect it's just an oppurtunity to determine who can throw water bottles the farthest, spit the farthest and sware the loudest. Not sure though.
  19. Remember the Orange Bowl days? I recall when Jarvis Redwine busted a big run against OU ran into the endzone looking back and an OU player flashing the "we're number one signal". The field was covered in oranges from the fans. If I recall correctly OU came back and beat us.........again. KU had reason to celebrate and to be honest I was pretty happy for them. It had been a huge drought. Doesn't mean I liked the loss for us but I can understand their excitement.
  20. I hope they are all as a team feeding off the lack of respect they are being given around the country. Is it just me or do the sports writers and CF fans around the country not care for Cally all that much?
  21. Agreed with that one! I find these articles generally to be nothing more than fill when writers have nothing elst to write about, mags have nothing else to print etc. Well SOMEBODY thought he deserved it. It doesn't really matter. It is however nice that when a guy like Tommy gets snubbed comes back in the bowl game and does what he did. Pretty amazing game.
  22. Truth be told the huskers are still unproven to day the least. SC should be a good team and maybe even a little better than good but not great, at least early. I enjoyed the wins over CU and MI however neither team was of the caliber I expect from SC. The other concern I have is with the SC coaches pulling a couple of rabbits out of their hat. Give the coaching staff credit not only do they have great talent but they do a fine job of coaching. Not sure Cally gets any respect nationally and this may be rightfully so. Until we win a few of the big ones, ie SC and Texas maybe the respect isn't earned. This could be the year. One thing is for certain he needs to have the first string ready out of the box so that the 2nd teamers can have some real game time by the SC game. They've got some horses and we may need fresh legs.
  23. I'm really starting to get caught up in the hype. Keep forgetting they haven't even played a game yet.
  24. You know there is a great deal of truth in this. If in fact we are as good as many believe we can be. If the OL gels as they say it is this is completel feasible. Yes the secondary may be a question mark but the D line can take a great deal of pressure off them.
