  1. TO = Class DN = insert your explitive here Just for the record anyone who saw the NC game with LP should be intelligent enough to know that in no way did that team need LP on that night to win that game. IMO LP needed the team a whole lot more than the team needed LP. TO gave him a chance to make something of himself and kept him on the straight and narrow while he was still here. That's a whole lot more that any NFL coach was able to do. LP still ultimately made a shambles of his life or as the case may be took it back down to the level it was before he came to NU. Back to the yahoo at DN. So he believes that TO, Pelini, the athletic department as a whole, a jury of 12 and the entire legal system in the state is corrupt and simply a win at all cost endeaver. I'm guessing he knows who really killed JFK too. Way to many conspiracy folks out there then throw in a little $%^&* envy, grab yourself a laptop and type out an article and we end up here.
  2. On the offensive side we pretty much had them outgunned as well and still couldn't run the ball the first two games. New Mex State is no measuring stick either. IMO we really don't know what we have yet and won't for at least 2 weeks, and may not know much of anything until we get a couple of games into conference play.
  3. 1. I believe she testified that she had underwear on. 2. Don't even TRY to shift the blame onto her. That is all. If he was found not guilty of fondling her, can't we at least blame her for making a false accusation of sexual assault? Sure, he was still a total a**hole for the other things he did, but seems like she maybe took it one step further by accusing him of something he didn't do. And yes, I understand there is a very big difference between being not guilty and innocent, but still.... Not guilty doesn't mean he didn't do it or that she made a false accusation. It means a jury couldn't convict without some doubt. It came down to a "he said / she said". Not enough evidence. again... we dont know that No, we pretty much know all of that. She made an accusation, which none of us have the right to judge her for. The jury determined that she did not provide enough evidence to support a conviction, though. we dont know that andy didnt have overwhelming eveidence... he's making him sound like OJ. They interviewed one of the jurers on the news and basically he said something to the effect that given the conditions in the bar at the time the jury did not feel that there was any way she or anyone else could be sure who did what to whom. Pont being that if they felt she could not be sure and we've not been told there was any other evidence he walks. In other words my take on it was drunk gal gets felt up, drunk dude amongst many drug dudes and chicks gets blamed. As we all know all drunk dudes and drunk chicks are completely rathional thinkers making for expert witnesses and testamony. Bo's the coach. He knows the entire incident much better than any of us here from what I can tell in reading the posts and I'll go with Bo knows bad apples from good
  4. It's kinda funny. Many are willing to judge based on what they have read in the paper or comments from one part or another. Since I wasn't there I can only hang on that the jury who heard all the facts presented could not find him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. For me that probably says more than anything else I've read in the paper. That being said I still would not be comfortable if my wife or daugter was anywhere near the guy. It's not fair and I know that but I'm more concerned about my wife and daughter than am Andy Christenson. Guilty or not guilty, found guilty or not found guilty, falsely accused or rightly so it really doesn't matter in the end for this guy. It'll hang on him a very long time. My advice young men, watch your p's and q's and evaluate if you really want to sit in a bar and get tanked with a bunch of other people sitting in a bar getting tanked. Maybe a nice relacing drink and then heading home may help prevent you from landing in a similar situation or maybe not. Hopefully this whole incident has caused many a young lady and many a young man to re-evaluate how they spend their leisure time. Momma always told me nothing good ever happens after dark. I wish I would have listened.
  5. The problem with this rival wannabe is a lack of respect. Can you say Nebraska fans respected McCartney, probably. How about Neuheisel or Barnet, probably not unless you count one painful loss to them under Barnet. The fans certainly haven't done anything to warrant respect. The two previous coaches certainly didn't. No fan base is perfect but until CU finds even a handful of decent people to follow their team this rivalry they want will be a tough thing to push through. The K-state rivalry was pretty good for a time and even the Mizzou rivalry has potential. CU must figure out that Nebraska fans have their sights set much higher the CU.
  6. Kinda makes you wonder the what if's. NU should have state of the art facilities and staff. What if he decided to go juco or to a smaller school? Kinda makes you wonder if it would have been caught this early or even at all. Either way I'm glad they saw it and the kid can now make whatever adjustments he must make.
  7. The sky is not falling and the cupboard is not bare. I have faith
  8. As much of a fan as I am, with the current economic conditions I'm finding at the gas pump and grocery store I must confess. I'll be listening to my radio more. Sad but true.
  9. Well if they are going to follow the baseball teams pattern for a 9-3 season that would be 9 straigth wins and a big choke 3 straight losses at the end of the year. That would be areal downer
  10. I hope both young and old can learn from this mans experience. Sometimes we do stupid things. Sometimes we do stupid things when drinking. I don't know this gentleman but I'm guessing that sober in another environment he would not have made these errors in judgement. Sometimes the consequences for our actions are great and sometimes those consequences can follow you the rest of your life. This guy is 21 and will probably live to be 81. He will carry this with him the rest of his life.
  11. A common mistake, and one easy to make when the guitarist only reuses the same four chords and the same solo licks in every single song he ever wrote. Don't be too hard on yourself. /ACDC jab I believe they have used Back in Back in the past. A jab yes but oh so true. Then again them 4 chords always get me going the way they put them together. Thunderstruck ain't bad neither.
  12. 4.5 at the combines? I wasn't aware of that. I was always impressed with his nose for the ball and his hands but never his speed. He's going to need to figure out how to run clean tight routes and give good fakes because 4.5 isn't going to get you open with too many DB's in the NFL IMO. I wish him luck tough. He's going to need to play like a veteran if he's going to make it. He just doesn't have enough speed to get it done on talent alone.
  13. The real problem is the gosh darned short people. You know who you are. You complain that you can't see when sitting, you complain when you can't see when your standing. You sit on phone books to drive the car, your always asking me to reach the box of cookies on the top shelf at the grocery store or you stand there staring at the cookies waiting, hoping someone will see you delima and offer to help. Just kidding. The truth is there is room for all of us. Those that stand, those that sit, those that yell and those that are quiet. There's even room for the rather large heavy set guy up in the stands trying to sit in his size 12 body in a size 6 seat while sweating all over those on either side of him. The game is supposed to be fun and as long as your not vulger have fun. Keep the F bombs for home around your kids not around mine otherwise have fun. As far as the students are concerned personally if they are the loudest, the most excited and create more disruption for opposing QB's I say put'm as close as you can. Fans come in all shapes and sizes and I say let'm stand. Let the kids stand on the seat (as in little kids) but if your over the age of say 16 or 18 don't stand on the seats please. It's starting to sound like off season is the whining game, complain complain complain. All will be much better when the season starts and we can all get into it and quit whining.
  14. It really doesn't matter. I look at it this way with a new coaching staff. You either trust them or you don't. It's not like under the last coach whoever he was........I really can't remember..........where you had reason not to trust him. ie Bjax, Thenarse etc. This coaching staff will make mistakes as all staffs do but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt until there is at least something, anything ever so slight to give me reason to do otherwise.
  15. One was totally out of control and running wild. The other was a buffalo
  16. Personally I think the whole incident says a lot more about the paper than it does the athletic department or Pelini. Besides and editorial on how to run an organization by some one too young to have ever ran an organization as large as the football program may not make a lot of sense. Not that it can't happen and be a good editorial but while many 18-24 year old college students may think they have all the answers how many really do? It's been said that wisdom comes with age and sometimes age comes all by itself. It does imply that there may not be quite as much wisdom with youth now doesn't it.
  17. Personally I think the Huskers will be better than most think this next year. They've gott an excellant shot at getting to the Big XII title game.
  18. Where I used to work we'd get a call to each line about 4 times per year from a group that called themselves........well lets just say they were out of Washington state but wanted everyone to think they were a local business. They were selling glass and glass replacement for homes cars etc. I told them I needed a new windshield and that would be in Lincoln for a meeting in a few days an I owned a white Ford Crown Victoria, asked them to stop by the front desk and tell them to ask for me and what they were there for. I then gave them the address for the state patrol headquarters. I thought that was pretty funny. Did it again 3 months later and gave them the address for the county sherrifs office. I'd probably do it again except I think they've shut down operations due to all the legal issues they were having. At the time they were being investigated by several states for their business practices.
  19. I'm guessing he's got another shirt now that someone has written on the back of that says "Bell Citch"
  20. 1-11 may be acceptable to our West but it will NEVER be acceptable in Nebraska. As far as KU goes, let'm have their laughs, they earned it and deserve it. I'm more frustrated with the Mizzo fans myself. It's like dealing with KSU fans when they put together a few good years only the Wildcat fans have more teeth.
  21. Man being a couch would be a lousy job. If you don't keep on top of the players and something happens your viewed as a program out of control lacking discipline. If you get proactive and do something like this it's elementary or babysitting. I'd much rather read about babysitting than rape, assault and resisting arrest charges. If Bo's going to take the heat when things go bad I say let him prevent it his way if he likes.
  22. A lot of those small in stature guys have been upset with the lack of love toward Grixby. He's just rebelling. Someone probably thought he was a gymnast and he went off a little bit.
  23. Heck I thought a Bo Pelini was the result of an unholy allience between an Itallian woman and hillbilly named Bocefus creating a youth with the anger and fire of the Itallian mafia and the meaness and values of a good'ol boy. The rusult being a child that once grown will not only give stand by his friends and family to the end but also destroy any critter that he faces. Critters such as buffalo's, cats, long horns and yes even those two legged critters known as sooners. Strong family values but an energy and fire that can not be quenched when angered. That or a new dish on the Valentinos buffet
  24. Let's hope that Bo keeps these guys busy enough to stay focused on this year and not on last year. I'm much more concerned about how they play this year than I am about how they played last year, what they thought of the coach, who played who didn't etc. Now if they want to use last year to fuel this year that's a whole different deal but I hope they use it to fuel their own motors rather than the newspaper.
  25. Recycling a coach has it's risks as well. Remember Bo Schemblecker? How about Lou Holtz. Great at ND a year or two but pretty bad after that at NC state or something like that. Just because a coach has success in Miami doesn't mean he'll have success somewhere else. Personally I think Bo is very low risk. Not just because of his philosphy but the guys he's surrounded himself with. Watson is really the only question mark for me. I get tired of hearing about how he knows offense but we really haven't seen much other than a few mediocre glimpses that really look much better than they were because the rest of the time the offense was soooooo bad. Bo is the right guy for Nebraska. There is an energy back that has been gone for quite a while.........like pretty much since Bo was let go. The energy is in the players, the other coaches and in the fans.
