  1. I live in SoCal, and for the first time, I went to one of the watch sites doen here (The OC Tavern in San Clemente). It was an amazing atmosphere! Just wanted to say that I had a lot of fun and plan on going back next weekend! On the kickoff TD, the room went crazy. That was definately the turning point in the game. There was a lot of good and bad in the game, but overall, I think the game showed what the Huskers will NOT do...they won't quit on us this year. I saw a team that came out flat, but they never quit, and eventually got it together. Anways, for any of you that were at the OC Tavern...see ya next week! mm0
  2. I will be happy to see a team that plays 110%...I won't be SATISFIED with anything less than 9 wins. I'm not saying I think we will get there, although I think it is at least possible....I'm just saying that is where we should be, and we shouldn't shoot for anything less.
  3. Well, I'm in Laguna Niguel, so not far at all...not sure if I can make it, but thanks for the info! I've never been to a 'Nebraska watch site' around here, what is the atmosphere like? I guess my main question is, I don't drink, so will I feel out of place? Probably a stupid question, but well... mm0
  4. their response, "YOU FUSKERS ARE JUST AFRAID TO PLAY AGAINST DAN HAWKINS ZOMGLOL!WTFBBQ!" So, with the last 24 hours that I have had, I needed a laugh...thanks!
  5. Absolutely fantastic post. I don't think the LEADERSHIP angle can be stated enough times. When any organization, a football team or some other group, doesn't have proper teaching, motivating, listening, and preparedness to assist the team in meeting a standard, what can you expect from them? I don't think the "we never had as much talent as we thought" rationale is valid. I don't think there's any possible way to determine how much talent we really have. You absolutely cannot use last year's games for some of the very reasons you just mentioned. I watched Jason Peter break down some USC game film once, and from the four or five plays he critiqued, it was obvious nobody had any clue what they where doing. If Cosgrove was so incompetent he couldn't even teach tackling or filling a gap, how could you expect him to develop a believable game plan to bring down the star-studded USC Trojans? What fires me up about Bo is that he is fundamentally a different coach. During the Spring Game he was on the field every play, watching, teaching, correcting. Same during Spring Practice. He teaches core principles about effort and accountability, things that obviously never happened in our wanna-be NFL combine under Callahan. I don't think our defense was fundamentally sound but lacked execution last season (like Callahan believed). I believe they were fundamentally flawed and therefore played poor football. What they are capable of, however, with the best defensive coordinator in the business, is something that remains to be seen. And I hope it's something spectacular. sorry for the long quote, but I absolutely agree! what I don't get is why we think we have no talent??? OK, well, watching the games last year, I can see how you might come to that conclusion...BUT...If it was lack of talent, then I guess Cosgrove must not have been THAT bad of a coach...yeah, right.
  6. definitely not nerves, I mean, come on, he coached in front of Bill Walsh...I'm sure you've heard of him, right?
  7. I seem to remember a comment last year something to the effect of 'Halftime adjustments are over rated.' Not sure if that was the exact words, but something similar... mm0
  8. i dont get it. just because the guy only has 2 posts doesnt mean anything. he can be just as reliable as the guy with 6500 posts. but whatever i only have a few too so i guess i dont know anything either :asshat :asshat no, it means it may not mean anything. My point was that we have been chasing rumors all day, and truthfully, it is fun, but when someone registers just to post 'breaking news', I will take it with a grain of salt. I guess I'm just not as gullible as the 3 people on this board that think before hitting the reply button. In all seriousness though, I hope it's true, I'm just not holding my breath. I stopped that at 9:30 this morning when there was no pres conference.
  9. wow...2 whole posts! and both in this thread...this just reaks of reliabilty!
  10. yeah, I should be happy that our D gave up almost 90 points in 2 games...Support, yes...Happy, no way. mm0
  11. That would be 1 ticket every .6 seconds....wow. mm0
  12. I guess I'm just still one of those people who thinks that swearing is a bad thing, and that people, not networks are responsible for their own actions. Obviously I'm in the minority here, and that's ok, I still love the Huskers! GBR
  13. I'm sure that I'll get flamed for this, but what makes this a good thing? I love passion in our players also, but coming from someone who has children watching the game, I was upset that he couldn't watch his mouth. I think he should have showed a little respect for the 1000's of fans watching the game. Let the flaming begin! mm0
  14. I sure missed seeing Hardy drop a bunch of passes...
  15. I purposely haven't read too many posts since the game, and I've waited to say something till now, because I wanted to calm down and have a clear head. Here is where I have the biggest problem with what I saw: Callahan didn't give our players a chance to win. It would be one thing to go out, make a few pass plays, and see how the USC defense handles it, but that's not what happened. In my opinion, Callahan coached one of the worst games I've seen, and it was very dissapointing. I'll admit, I'm not a know everything college football fan, I couldn't even tell you the difference between a mike, will, or sam linebacker (or if I even spelled them correctly!), so feel free to take my coments with a big grain of salt. mm0
  16. My inlaws (from Grand Island) just came to see us for my 2 year olds birthday in SoCal, they commented about all the Husker fans they saw at the airport, and in the parkinglots...looks like it's gonna be a good showing! mm0
  17. It's a problem with the feed. I have tried two computers, I run my audio system through a mixer, and as soon as I plug in the right channel, it drops to only one side. I just set mine to run in mono. I imagine it's some sort of phase issue with the feed. mm0
  18. It was the final... http://www.ketv.com/sports/9782578/detail.html mm0
  19. Done! I have been wanting another DVR (have one for our family room already) for our bedroom, couldn't pass up this deal! mm0
  20. Yeah, I live in So Cal also, and actually had a friend of mine tell me it was going to be a dark day for nebraska on 9-16. Can't wait to prove him wrong!
  21. Exactly what I was thinking...If Zac can pick it up in half a season, we should be good. Although, nothing replaces in game experience! mm0
  22. Not Really, I'm a musician, and when I registered for AOL 8 years ago, I wanted musicman, but it wasn't available, and AOL suggested something like muzicman9876, so just on a whim I tried with a 0, and it was available, and it's been my username every since...even though I no longer use AOL. mm0
