  1. Freeman looked good but it's tough to tell what might have been. I heard that McCoy was not as highly touted as Snead who was buddies with Freeman at some QB camp for hotshot HS QBs. NU has a 3 star Witt coming in so who knows. Any of the young guys could turn out to be great stuff, hopefully. Other times some hot shot never achieves up to expectations.
  2. I think going to ISU without the University seriously stepping up the support/long-term commitment would be a setup for failure. I can't imagine why anyone would want the job.
  3. I love watching the Husker offense, even as frustrating as the second half was, except for the last minute. Anyone else enjoy watching Taylor commanding and shifting guys all over the place as much as I do? And...rarely getting a procedure penalty. That must drive the defense nuts and it sure is fun to watch. We've got some real serious young weapons. Can't wait to see where we are next year and the year after.
  4. One has to wonder if that Aggie hadn't run into Taylor if that may have been the game. What was he thinking? I guess that's part of the fun of college football. One minute your jumping up and down cheering, the next minute your tearing your hair out. Tough way for the Aggies to lose.
  5. Yeah. Those db's not turning around shows the type of talent we have right now. But we are winning! Yes, we are winning and what great feeling that is!!!! However, we really need to look at why we have meltdowns in the second half! The O has performed well all year minus a bit of questionable play calling. I think the O gets out of sync in the second half because the D lets opponets back in the game and we can't just cruise like we would like with some wide open Offensive play calling. The D, as many have eluded to on these post is really lacking in talent. That was evident when noone turned around for the bomb that put A&M back in it. The question is, beside lack of talent, is the defensive schemes Cosgrove employs part of the problem? Thats an honest question? For the record, I have never been a Cosgrove fan so I am looking for a consrtructive argument to say he is either a good or bad D coord. I know there will be those who say quite whinning...we won. Yes we did and I am stoked about it. Just honest questions I would like to hear a few thoughts on. i just think the coaches have a hard time making half time adjustments....but i don't know why that would be? I think we're having trouble adjusting to the halftime adjustments of our opponents. We're doing so well in the first half that there's not much to adjust to, but we don't seem to be responding well to defensive changes. Against A&M Taylor looked as if our receivers were having difficulty getting free.
  6. i'd take them all on in a heartbeat! and the winner would be ME!
  7. Does anyone ever consider the fact that we're playing against worthy opponents that sometimes do things right and make life difficult or make us look bad? Folks talk like we're playing against the opponents cheerleaders.
  8. I appreciate your contributions to this board. I thought the Huskers had A&M's option pretty well defended except for some obvious mess-ups leading to long runs. I was surpised that they didn't give Lane more chances. The coaches must have thought NU was keying on him or something.
  9. I was pretty frustrated with the 2nd half but I knew ZT would not give up and we have some great weapons. I kept watching and hoping. That final drive was awsome to watch.
  10. It was a dumb error by the defender. All he had to do was sidestep the QB. Unfortunate for A&M but dumb move.
  11. their (Rutgers) D line averaged 254 lbs. against O line for Louie weighing 307 lbs...gave away over 50 lbs. per guy and ran around them and kept pressure on the qb and running backs...quickness often beats size, do we need to learn that lesson...?? speed, speed, speed! Sure hope Cos was watching that game last night. What a tremendous example of how a speedy defense can shut down a prolific offense. Whether or not you think the Big East is overrated, Louisville has a pretty potent offense and little Rutgers managed to shut them down for an entire half, and the second half, to boot. I don't much care about the Big East, or anyone else's conference. I consider the last five or six years to be an aberation in the space time continuum. Shortly, the wrinkle in the universe will be smoothed out and Nebraska will return as the standard bearer for all aspects of collegiate football. Meanwhile, they could take a lesson from them east coast types who invented the game. -------> But be fast about it! The coaches don't need to watch games. They only need to read this board.
  12. Doesn't matter how far you kicked it if it didn't go between the uprights. Doesn't matter how accurate you kicked it if it falls short.
  13. BC needs to design a trick play featuring him. When he walked on the field with the O the guys up in the box would be thinking , then we nail them while they're all looking at each other.
  14. I want us to play the best teams we can play. Even if we loose it gives us a much better idea of where we need to be and what we need to do to get there, i.e., if the fans don't get the coaches fired first.
  15. Heck, everyone thinks it will be close so I'm going to say Huskers by 2 TD's.
  16. We could not get enough points on the Bluffalos to satiate me. No matter, one can never humiliate them more than they humiliate themselves.
  17. I got a graduate degree from A&M. I think you will find them a classy bunch; a little crazy, but a generally a good bunch. One of their yell leaders did flash a sword at an opponent's yell leader about 20 years ago for stepping on holy ground in Kyle field. Don't disgrace their traditions or OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!
  18. I think the key to TAMU is their QB. Go after him on every play. Try to make him think twice and wear him down.
  19. Forget the jugulars. Go for the carotid arteries. If that doesn't work go for the gonads.
  20. Geeze, I thought for a second I was reading about BC after the OSU loss.
  21. You guys talk like the fans are the team. It doesn't matter how cocky the fans are or what they think. They don't reflect the thinking of the team (i.e., coaches and players). Any coach that thinks "these guys are sleeping, we don't need to work so hard" won't be coaching for long.
  22. I keep going back to help you out but I keep forgetting to read your post. Oh Canada!
