I say Calli should run him ragged after practice (EVERY DAY)until he is crying for his mommy, 8 pm curfew, anger management classes, the gratuitous apology and move on. He is a kid and kids do stupid sh#t, but being kicked off the team seems a little harsh.

I hope that Mo gets some kind of punishment...out of this but if this account is true....he does not deserve to be kicked off the team...........with that being said, it shows some bad judgement on Purify's part placing so much at risk..........I know he has recieved an earful from Calli and co. .

This is not opinion it's fact.........if we got rid of Cally we would be the Alabama of the midwest,but with worse weather, and not as much in state talent. It would be disasterous to the program.

Ya old Tom with his loyalty, promise keeping, trying to mainatain one of the most dominant football traditions intact .........what was he thinking?????.....LOL Tom Osbrone was a devout christian, a loyal friend, integrity unmatched by few in the game today, but that is not what made him great and that is not what has placed him next to the Almighty here in huskerland. He was a great psychologist and he was genuine.....he kept his word!! Here is the real kicker...he genuinely cared for his players. He got the players so inspired that one would need a cattle prod and a muzzle just to to get near him after a halftime talk.....but he never yelled...... never used profanity....never put a player down. Always stuck by a player and kept his word almost to his his own detriment. He made players with almost no family structure love him like a father and put their hearts and souls into games and practices, go to church, read scripture...sure he had failures but he had many succeses. He was a great motivator of young men just ask anyone who played for him ask anyone who participated in the grueling training and practice but then afterward Tom would come up and put his arm around you and tell you good job, good block, great intensity and some how that made the pain and fatigue a little more bearable. Sad thing is if he would have been 5-6 for 4 years in the nineties would we be talkin about him or buying his book?? In Summary rsd you probaly could'nt even carry Tom's Jock strap....so ease up on the man for caring about the people he worked with and made promises to, be wiped away and thrown out in one swipe, by old stevie p. . Don't fault a man for having integrity and a strong belief in keeping one's word.

Paying college athletes ......especially football would kill the sports appeal and popularity...can you imagine a bunch of 18 year old Terrel Owens walking around Lincoln....God help us. College football mercenaries would kill the game and the popularity would wain...bad idea. Also I don't hear anyone whining about poor college wrestlers or College base ball players.

I dont have him as a shoe in yet.......very complex offensive scheme + 1 year to figure it all out + Callahan is unflinching in his gameplanning and approach to his offense = don't put all your eggs in Keller's basket just yet. The one thing Keller has going for him is soft Big 12 north, big boy football experience and it is do or die for him next year, add the fact that he gets a running game and offensive line and the best recieving corp. in Nebraska that I have seen at Nebraska in a long time. It will either be a great year or another Alamo bowl.

Brandon in my opinion made a huge mistake it goes to the old saying, " the bull runs down and maybe humps one cow or the bull who walks down and sneaks up and humps all the cows". Brandon Jackson ran down....period. The whole offensive line returns and he would of had a huge year next year IMO. Now he has to prove himself against faster, stronger, smarter players and it's put up or shut up in the NFL, if he does'nt he will be cast into NFL oblivion. It is the ugly truth.

Is everyone forgetting the big Quentin Castille he will be thrown into the mix. Second I agree with the assessment that Lucky seems almost hesitant in his style, very slow to point of attack, but if he does get into secondary watch out. Callahan realizes this and try to get the ball to him in space hence the screens and multiple checkdowns by Taylor, he is a great catching back.

Anyone that says fire Callahan is crazy and knows NADA about the game........BUT, I do think he needs an offensive coordinator ala...Pete Carrol/Norm Chow.......bring in someone who can add to the brain trust, the recruiting job is pretty amazing when you think of logistics, but I do think an offensive coordinator would be nice.

even better than that...he's learning a crap load from the players on his team that BEAT him. There's no better way to learn than from guys who are better than you. You can take a Vince Young and throw him on a weak ass I-AA team, and he'll never get better because he'll be the best of the best. Rickey probably thought he could come in and just dominate like he had been doing before Nebraska. But then he learned that this is a whole new level and everyone is the best of the best. He'll have to constantly be stepping up his routine if he wants to stay with the team. it's the BEST and ONLY way to learn, in my opinion.
