  1. Please read the man-law handbook before posting...please reference my earlier post about "It is only permissable for a man to drink Watermelon Pucker when...." Sorry about that, I missed that one. I don't drink any type of Pucker - I have been known to add red food coloring to about anything I have around. I used to use the Maui Tropical Schnapps but I think they quit making it. The stuff tasted like Kool-Aid.
  2. When you are at home or the bar watching the game, you must take a shot of any red colored liquor you can find after every Husker score. MAN LAW (The 56 - 0 game earlier this year was a killer)
  3. Why would he want to go to IA ST? As someone mentioned earlier, it is and will always be IA ST. Don't you think there will be other head coaching jobs available as the season winds down the he is better suited for. Why jump at a chance to be head coach at an average football program at best? Besides, do you think he would want to play the Huskers every year? He know that positive things are happening here. If he takes it, good luck to him. I hope he is patient and makes sure it is the right situation for him.
  4. Well, I didn't shut it off but I did walk outside right after the interception, smoke a cig (I quit smoking several months ago but fell off the wagon for about 5 minutes) and couldn't go back in for the rest of the game. I walked over to my neighbor's house and being a Florida transplant I figured he wouldn't have the game on, he did. I watched the blocked field goal attempt and the winning drive. Thank goodness my neighbor had the game on!
  5. While I appreciate the optimisim a lot of Husker fans maintain right now, I have to say that I am having difficulty being optimistic. If I recall correctly, most Husker fans felt like the defense was going to be the shining star of the team before the season started. I wonder how many still feel that way. The D has provided the fans with a rollercoaster ride this year, and personally, I have gotten to a point in my life where I don't like rollercoasters anymore. Whose fault is it, I am not sure. It is not my job to be sure it is Cosgrove's and I am not sold on him. I do recall that a lot of Wisc. fans were happy to get rid of him. I am not ready to run him out of Lincoln yet but he better figure something out. At this point I would almost prefer not to play down in KC. Not sure my heart can take it. All I know now is that I am frustrated but will continue to support the Huskers any way I can.
  6. Here is my ideal defensive preformance for tomorrow: 2 Interceptions 2 Fumble Recoveries - Both Freeman fumbles 7 Sacks Hold the kitties to under 175 of total offense. I don't think that is asking too much!!!
  7. As the Huskers prepare for "Harley Day" I will be preparing for "Barley Day" at about 6:00 Saturday evening!!!
  8. I am not trying to start a ruckus here because I think Steve has some potential. I also realize he has been hurt but, to date, I have not been overly impressed when he has been on the field (other than last year's Maine game). I sure hope your enthusiasm turns in to reality because we need the help.
  9. Barry is far and away my favorite Husker right now. I agree 100% that next year he will dominate. A couple years of learning from Moore and Adam and look out!!!
  10. Nope, not bent at all. It had about a 50/50 chance to work if we played error free ball. We didn't and we lost. We could all sit around second guessing the coach to death and it wouldn't accomplish a damn thing. Lets move on to Troy. No more
  11. While I agree the defense played pretty well, I found my self a bit disillusioned during the game because it seemed like we missed a fair share of tackles. It also seemed like everytime we got a hold of a USC ball carrier, they were able to gain a couple extra yards whereas our backs were stopped in their tracks. With that said, I am still confident that we will be fine this year and I know I will have a lot of fun rooting this Husker team on!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Iron Maiden, memories of a youth gone by. Awesome quote!!
  13. USC has had some great recruiting classes but this is a team game and I am hoping we have a better TEAM. All the talented individuals they have don't add up to $H!T if we play better as a team.
  14. Does that mean you could set your beer on the top of her head??
  15. While I would prefer a win, I think I could live with the game if it turns out like described above.
  16. Cornhuskers - 35 USC - 34 Rushing Yards - 201 Passing Yards - 264
  17. Just to clarify my question, who is our 5th running back? Do we have one?
  18. I am kinda curious to know who is our 3rd sting running back. If we get way ahead tomorrow does Cally pull the starting four and put someone else in or does he let all four running backs continue to play throughout the game?
  19. Thought you folks would get a chuckle out of this: http://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g130/jso...CTribute_1_.flv
  20. You hit it right on the head, the fumbles are a big concern. If he can't hold on to the ball there are three other guys that can (at least through the 1st game). Hopefully it was just first game jitters and I am pretty sure the coaches are addressing the fumbles this week in practice. The four-headed monster we have at running back should be extremely productive this weekend. I am looking forward to listening to the game (I would have much rather watched it but I guess that is not going to happen).

    CU fans

I think Husker fans would have become awful quiet had we lost to LT or if we lose to NS (No way it is going to happen). Part of me was really happy to see them lose while another part of me knows it is really bad for the conference. I think I would rather see them lose all of their conference games and win all of their non-conference games. I feel the same way about KSU. I would not know who I wanted to see lose more during the KSU vs. CO game. What a dilemma.
  22. Don't you think if you're shelling out for the game the neighborhood should provide the provisions? Na, I make them pay for the game, that way I get the provisions I want, besides, they are pretty decent at bring stuff over as well. Sometime though I would like to have the watching party at one of their houses but none of them have a 65" big screen with surround sound so it will probably always be at my house. I can live with that!! What time do you want everybody to come over then to watch the game on that tv You are welcome anytime on Saturday. Since we don't know if the game is on at 12:30 or 6:00 I suppose we better start about 11:00 just to make sure we don't miss anything!

  24. This is getting frustrating . Between several different bulletin boards I have seen several references to the NS/NU game being televised on PPV yet there has been no word from the University. I am more than happy to plunk down the money but would really like to know what is going on here. I need to know early so I can buy enough provisions to feed the neighborhood if the game is going to be on . I really suspect that it is not going to be on and I will be able to clean the garage while I listen on the radio Will someone with connections put this issue to bed for us. Thanks!
