  1. Next weekend is likely our season folks. We can beat Mizzou at home. I don't see us beating A&M on the road. We can beat CU at home. If we lose next week followed by loss at A&M, wow it is going to be ugly for 2 weeks leading up to CU. This was a horrible second half of football. Worst I can remember in awhile. Coaches, offense, defense all blew hard in the second half. I really think Elmo will take a fall. The D is hurting and our DB's are a weak link... This loss really me off! No black-shirts this week.
  2. Fiesta = Notre Dame...would love to smash the domers! Cotton = LSU...shut Bo and the SEC up! Holiday = Cal...we play USC in Lincoln next year where we will get revenge. Would rather see us play a different team...Cal is mostly considered the #2 Pac-10 team behind USC last few years.
  3. Little info. here http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID...p;PT=4&PR=2 ...seems to be a soft verbal?
  4. Some info. here http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID...p;PT=4&PR=2 This guy just seems like he could be a darkhorse and vie for the job after Keller. If he comes in and learns next year and then has 3 years to play, then that would be a great situation. Still don't know how many years he is eligible for...let's keep an eye on him.
  5. This link has some latest info. http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID...p;PT=4&PR=2 This OT appears to be getting away from Kansas. I think we have a good chance at him. We were in early on him...now the rest of the Big 12 is trying to pry him from Kansas...I think it should help us that we there from the beginning. Let's get him for a visit!
  6. If this guy has 3 years to play then yes we should go after him. Like glaserjo said, QB is too vital and we must have not only a great starting QB but good to great back-ups as well to help us get back to the top.
  7. Too bad We need to pick up some O-lineman and he would have been excellent...I guess we were never really in it...he chose CU over Notre Dame
  8. Here in So Cal the college football talk is dominated by USC. But today, catching the local sports jocks I was surprised how many have turned on UCLA head coach Karl Dorrell. Lots of fans on the call-in shows have seem to have had it with him, after their last minute loss at Notre Dame. They are comparing him to former UCLA basketball coach Steve Lavin who could never seem to rise above with his b-ball team. Lavin of course was fired. I also checked out a UCLA Bruins website at http://www.bruinsnation.com/ and they are not happy to say the least. It is sort of ugly right now at UCLA and I'd think potential recruits are taking notice. I did a quick search and recruits in So Cal where we may be competing against UCLA are DE Kenny Rowe, CB Antwoine Baker, and DT Tyrone Duncan (there are likely others). I would sure like to see us continue to recruit in CA heavily. A football tradition at Nebraska easily stacks up against UCLA (where football is #2 behind basketball). Would be great to compete for these top CA kids and win them over to Husker Nation!
  9. Player: Dez Bryant Hometown: Lufkin, TX Position: WR Height: 6’1” Weight: 196 40 time: 4.5 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, Iowa, LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Texas A&M, Texas Tech Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: #10/ Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting See link. This WR out of TX would be a great catch! He is not high on any teams yet as he is focusing on his season...but he has interest in a number of Big 12 teams and others. Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10% I don't think he can visit all the schools listed in the article, so we need to get him in and our chances should go way up.
  10. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=598329 Interesting article. Conferences seem to go through various up and down swings once in awhile. Heck, Texas is the defending national champ, so how weak can the Big 12 be, right? I always find the argument of the strongest conferences interesting. I know SEC fans are always very confident (and yes sometimes annoying ) that they are by far the strongest conference. I had searched in the past to no avail, but does anyone know of an online source that tells the conference records (say over the last 10 to 20 years) in bowl games? I think this would be a really good measure and a long enough time period for relevance to see how each of the conferences stack up and if there are trends/surprises/etc. If someone has this data, would be really cool to see and possibly "pin" for bowl season.
  11. Glad to see Steve-O have a great game. I know many of us (including myself) were down on him lately so great to see him come back like this! We need him as he gives our defense an added fire. Keep it going, Steve!
  12. Been sick since the game ended...you know, just had to vent to get it all out...
  13. "The Longhorns are who we thought they were! That's why we took the damn field! Now if you want to crown 'em, then crown their ass! But they are who we thought they were AND WE LET THEM OFF THE HOOK!!!!!" See you in the Big 12 Championship, Texas...
  14. I liked the call. If we miss it, then we punt and put them deep to make a long drive. We got the first which was a great call but we all know what unfortunately happened. TX was stuffing the run so I think the run gives us no shot at the first down...
  15. Go Cards! As an Angels fan, the Cardinals are the NL version of the Angels...you got our former players Eck, Spezio, Edmonds...even a Molina brother. But I can't believe Jeff Weaver has come back from the dead to pitch well for the Cards. Every Angels fan wanted that guy out because he was so horrible for us! Glad we got his brother Jared to replace him! Anyway, glad to see Jeff got it together to do well again...although I am seriously concerned we may see his old form against the Tigers!
  16. Nice job on the videos! I like the Papa Roach song on the KSU video. What is the artist and song on the ISU video?
  17. Still much of the same. Now racking up some offers. Sounds like we wanted him in earlier but will get a visit after his seaon is over (probably Dec.). Between us and UW as I'm taking liberty reading between the lines. Link here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting
  18. Player: Taylor Dever Hometown: Nevada City, CA Position: OT Height: 6’6” Weight: 290 40 time: 5.84 Visit Date: Scholarships offered: Nebraska, San Diego St., UNLV, Fresno St., Boise St., Washington Favorites: Rankings/Stars: Rivals: NR/ Bid Red Report: Assessing the talent: Odds of becoming a Cornhusker: 10% See link. Apparently he has been flying under the radar but now is getting attention. Looks like we hopefully should get a visit... http://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID...p;PT=4&PR=2 Latest Link: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=ri...tory_recruiting Likely to get more offers...talking to Coach Wagner
  19. I absolutely cannot believe the west coast will not get this game. Who are the :asshat 's at ABC who made the call on this one? You have got to be kidding me? I'm really disappointed I won't be able to see this game. ABC, you are pathetic and deserve to be down the toilet! Any chance this can change in the next couple of days???
