I agree that the booing is unnecessary and doesn't solve anything, but I'm not going to run around villifying people for doing it. As I mentioned earlier, it's a result of frustration boiling over. These aren't kids on the field, they're young men, and part of being a man is putting those things behind you, sucking it up and trying to do better next time. If they're going to cry and dwell on it and let it destroy the season, well they weren't going to go far anyway. Sure, it sounds harsh, but such is life.

Unrealistic? You've gotta be kidding. Do I need to post Pedey's black friday speech in it's entirety? He raised the bar in that speech, and we're being unrealistic by expecting him to live up to what he said? Don't bring that game to me.

I can't remember it happening to a college team. I do remember in 2000 the Rams brought in Lovie Smith mid-season and showed almost immediate improvement. I don't recall the intricacies of the situation as far as if anyone was fired or just demoted or what else.

Agreed. I think we're at a big character test juncture for the team, and it's how the team as a whole responds to this (everyone - players, coaches, etc) that will define the season. The worst thing for the team to do is start pointing fingers and assigning blame. There's nothing to do but suck it up, work hard, put your nose to the grindstone and get better. Yes we are in very VERY dangerous territory here!!!! Either the team is going to take this to heart and character build and win some games or they are going to be fighting among themselves and tear right down the middle!!! This could get really bad.................. Yep. The scary thing is that Callahan already has a history of losing teams. Just sayin...

Personally, I think the booing is getting blown out of proportion. It's a result of frustrations boiling over. It can happen to the best of us. If the players and fans can't get over it then we are in real trouble.

Why not? IMO it's refreshing to see something without the sugar-coating. I'm sick of the media walking on eggshells because they're afraid Pedey will yank their credentials.

Meh, that's been one of my biggest gripes with Callahan. His teams don't seem to get any better as the season progresses.

I can understand him being upset about it... but it's because he didn't understand why we were booing. We weren't booing the players we were booing the defense in general, especially the coaches. I think once he has a bit to reflect he'll see that it is OKAY for Nebraska fans to be extremely upset by giving up 606 yards to Ball State. I'd still like an exact quote of what he said. And another sign that the players have no faith in the coaching staff (i don't blame them). That's not good if it's true. If he's losing the team this could get really ugly.

30 years? That probably goes back to when they were operating out of that old house. They have an actual restaurant now. I haven't been there in years myself. You may want to brush up on your Espanol if you're heading that way.
