  1. For starters, it wasn't a Jayhawk fan that wrote this post. It was a KSU backer. I just wanted to seperate the facts from the BS. Which I knew clearly by reading the post there was some BS. I just wanted to get the facts straight. I take offense to that stateme and hope the moderator says something to you about it. We'll see how Gay my hawks are when your team comes to Lawrence. Lets see u are a KSUcks fan who says "We'll see how Gay my hawks are when your team comes to Lawrence." Make up yer mind. Either u are a KU fan or not. Don't ride the fence. There is a rivalry between the two ya know. You kind of set yourself up with that bandwagon mentality... Rooting for both... Both in the same conference... same division. Kind of gay with a capital G IMO. Sugalean? What in the world are u talking about? I never ever said I was a KSU fan! I just love it when people (Sugarlean) comment on posts before reading the whole thing. Get a clue!

  3. Well, we know the guy is off his rocker. I mean, I think Lucky will have a better year than Jackson did. That's just my perspective. But what is the word on Purify? Is he suspended? Kicked off the team? And is the battle between Ganz and Keller really that close? Those were the two I would like to know about.
  4. I found the following post on a Jayhawk forum.....I think it may have been written by a KSU fan (Imagine that) . I'm not too sure all of it is true though. So I figured I would post it here to see how accurate it reallys is. It's basically a run down of why NU won't be as good this year as they were last year. I think the guy is a little crazy, but I would like to know how much of this player analysis is true. Here it is. Let me know if this is a true analysis. Thanks. Maurice Purify (suspended prob all year) Brandon Jackson (top RB, draft) Kenny Wilson (dropped tv on foot) Adam Carriker (draft) Zack Bowman (top cb got hurt again out for year) Zac Taylor (starting qb gone) Kurt Mann (part time starting lineman gone) Matt Herian (mostly injured but was starting TE, still gone) Jay Moore (starting DE, gone) Andrew Shanle (starting Safety, gone) Dane Todd (starting FB, gone) Stewart Bradley (starting LB, gone) Jordan Congdon (starting Kicker, transfered) Ola Dagunduro (starting nose tackle, gone) Greg Austin (starting left guard, gone) THE LIST GOES ON AND ON....right there is 13 full time starting players from last years squad, plus 2 players who saw quite a bit of backup action.....not to mention marlon lucky, who had an "undisclosed" visit to the hospital and the rumors flew about that.....news out of nebraska keeps getting worse and worse.....sam keller has looked bad , and he hasnt even been named the starter...joe ganz is neck and neck with him
  5. Not a problem at all - and I certainly want to make clear that JGS30's post was fine, except for that one point. And he and you are right - the day and age of the kind of conference dominance we used to have is gone. Kansas has given us all we want in terms of competition, and will do so again this upcoming season. We need to recognize and respect that - and realize that it's actually a good thing. The better the competition each week, the better we become in meeting it. Sorry about that post guys. I didn't realize there was rules against making fun of posters. I was attacking the post more than anything. I do apologize for that. I've been spending too much time on the athlon boards I guess.....mainly arguments and insults. Sorry about that guys. I hope I can stay and chat some more. JGS30.
  6. Hummm...yeah....I'm just going to go ahead and say it. Mvpulos is an idoit. There are alot of really great husker fans on this website with alot of knowledge about college football, but you're definitely not one of them. For starters, the reasonong behind each prediction you make is elementary at best. Everyone on here knows I'm a jayhawk fan, and yes, I don't think KU will win the North, but I do think they'll finish 3rd and THEY WILL be better than last year. Tell me this....what exactly makes you think KU is gonna "suck badly" this year??? What's the logic behind it, and don't tell me because of John Cornish. The guy was a "system back" There is a reason he wasn't drafter in the NFL. I watched this guy in person for two years. he is a great North and South back...that's it. KU returns 51 letterman from last years team. That's ranked 9th among active D1 teams. The defense is back. Aqib talib (1st Team All American DB is back) Leading tacklers from a year ago are back. Top defensive lineman is back. QB's are back. All receivers are back except for Brian Murph and he sucked. I'm not saying that KU will with out a doubt beat Nebraska, but you just can't chalk up a win for NU. Hell, we almost beat ya'll in your backyard last year. KU will be lookin for a fight. You can't count on that. We'll see how badly KU sucks this year. We'll just have to see.
  7. As a Jayhawk fan, I don't want to lose to flipping BAYLOR AGAIN!! Good god! Can't mangino protect a 35-17 lead!! Is that too much to ask? I guess so, considering we lost 36-35 down in Waco. What a joke.
  8. PFFFFT!!!! Bo Jackson ran like, a 9.7 100. Anyways, I just hope to god you guys quit playing us so well. Bo Jackson was also an absolute freak of nature! But 9.7? That's just sick! Deion Sanders ran a 10.6! I think Jake Sharp will be a nice change of pace back. He'll get around 15 carries a game. I see him doing alot of damage catching balls out of the backfield.
  9. I hate to say this with all of my husker friends on here but USC will win by 3 td's. They're loaded. Even better than last year.
  10. I have to disagree as well. I was at the KU/Nebraska game and the NU players NEVER let up. That is the biggest cop out statement ever. The teams were evenly matched. Nu jumped out to their big lead early off turnovers, after that, it was a sluggfest. Sloppy defense the whole way through. I'm tired of listening to this "taking the foot off the pedal theory". I would give your coach more credit than that. That's something Coach C wouldn't allow. Just admit that KU was a whole lot better than you originally thought Blackshirt316. No more pedal statements...please!
  11. Kansas has played an annual game with the Nebraska Cornhuskers since 1905. This gives Kansas the second- and third-most played college football games in existence. KU is only 22-88-3 all-time against the Cornhuskers (as of 2006), and from 1969-2004 the Huskers rang up 36 consecutive victories, second longest in NCAA Division I (only Notre Dame's streak over Navy is longer). That streak came crashing down on November 5, 2005, when Kansas defeated Nebraska 40-15 in Lawrence. The 40 points are the most by the Jayhawks against Nebraska, and the 72 points scored by the Jayhawks in 2005 and 2006 combined is the largest consecutive two-year total in the series. In the overtime loss on September 30, 2006, the 32 points scored was the most by any Jayhawk team in Lincoln since 1899, when KU won 36-20 in only their eighth all-time meeting.[1]
  12. The 2003 game between KU and Nebraska was closer than what the score said though......You guys had a QB by the last name of Lord...not sure on his first name, but that dude was throwing ducks all game long! Good thing KU was garbage that year. I was at that game and he was a terrible QB. I can't believe he was you QB. You guys still won like 21-3 though...
  13. No disrespect Blackshirt316, but the Huskers didn't take their foot off the pedal against Kansas. If you remember, Nebraska jumped out to an early lead because of turnovers!!! KU had over 500 yards of offense on you. Your defense didn't just shut down and let KU score!! LOL. Both teams were evenly matched right down to the end and that was proved on the field. And for the record, Nebraska NEVER shut down their offense against KU. I do recall your QB had over 300 yards and 4 TD's..............nice excuse though......
  14. No disrespect Blackshirt316, but the Huskers didn't take their foot off the pedal against Kansas. If you remember, Nebraska jumped out to an early lead because of turnovers!!! 15. Exactly. Purify might get shut down, but the Huskers might get 400 yards through the air still. I agree. Whoever Talib covers will get shut down. There is no debate there. But the rest of the Jayhawk secondary is still unproven. Someone is bound to get open. That's exactly what happend most of the year last year. EXample: Oklahoma State was shut down the first half because they continued to throw the ball to Woods, even though Talib had him locked up. After halftime the coach must of realized that it's useless to throw towards Talib, so they went to Bowman who was matched up with true freshman Anthony Webb, 400 receiving yards later and an NCAA record, the rest is history.
  16. The best Receiver vs Cornerback match-up will happen when the Huskers travel to Lawrence, KS. I can't wait to see these two go at it. Aqib Talib is a preseason All-American, and early projections have him being selected as the #5 pick in the draft (see si.com). And everyone knows how strong and athletic Purify is. I can't wait to see these two do battle.
  17. You can't blame KU for the Big 12's downfall. KU has done nothing but improve since the crappy squad that Terry Allen built. Here is KU's records since that 2002 2-10 season: 2003- 6-6 2004- 4-7 2005- 7-5 2006 - 6-6 They've basically stayed about the same. The 4-7 campaign had the likes of Texas, OU and Texas Tech on the schedule. They were also on the schedule in 2005. I would say KU has helped the conference since 02, rather than hurt them. I think if KU can go 7-5 or 8-4 this season, they will of held up there end of the deal. It's the Iowa States, Baylors, and Kansas States that are about to take a turn for the worst! And CU may win 4 this year, but that's about it. Oh and..... Sweet schedule KSU! Can you say 1-4 start? Nothing like opening up against Auburn! LOL. Bold Prediction: San Jose State will beat KSU in week two!!
  18. I see you guys losing 2 games. That's it. Just 2. Texas & USC. There is no reason NU can't run the table. Missouri will be tough, but history shows that Missery folds down the strecth. Plus, the word in lawrence is that their defense is less than average at best. Weather the storm of their offense and you have them beat. But dare I say, you do have a possible LANDMINE game looming close to the conclusion of your schedule. That trip to Kansas in November won't be a walk in the park. I know, I know, you guys have owned us for years. OK, great, but I tried to tell you all last year that it would be close and I got thrown predictions like 47-3, and 55-6, Nebrsaska. Every now and then I would get a 35-14 nebraska prediction....but that was it. And as usual no one on here is even talking about the trip to Lawrence. I for one hope it stays that way! But I leave you with food for thought......when was the last time KU lost to a North team at home???
  19. The next in line is a white farm boy by the name of Jake Sharp 5'10, 190lbs. Runs the 100 meters in 10.7 seconds. He broke every single Kansas high school rushing record with over 6300 yards rushing and 64 touchdowns. He is out of Salina South. I think he'll be good this year, but I see him really breaking out in 2008. He still has a way to go to be an every down back in the Big 12. Ooopss....I meant, Salina Central High School.

  21. You guys don't have to worry about an ariel assault this year! That was a fluke deal. That was Barman's one good game last year. I still can't believe he threw for 405 yards. Won't ever happen again cause Mangino has this "love affair" with Kerry (I get hurt everytime someone tackles me) Meir. It's sad to, the kid could be a great QB. Hawk nation is pulling for the Texas phenom (Todd Reesing) to win the Quarterback job this summer.
  22. What do you mean big win? You guys beat KU! Geeeezzz......
  23. USC is extremely loaded this year! However, the game is in Lincoln, so anything can happen. I think it will be alot closer than what most of the experts think...(especially the West Coast Bias).
