  1. I think we're in the driver's seat for this guy.
  2. Anyone who watched Troy last year probably watched one heck of an exciting QB named DT McDowell. I don't know that he played this year because of grades I believe, but most Husker fans should remember the name. He was a Frank commit that de-committed once the Tank was fired and the new staff was named. I don't think he's on the team anymore, but he was a very exciting player.
  3. I've read that we played the 4th-most freshmen of any team in the nation.
  4. NU didn't run the option when Ferragamo played here, did we?
  5. I'm wondering why all the people keep saying that Missouri was a terrible loss? We were in pretty good position to win that game, we fought our asses off to get back into it and barring a huge play their defense made while we were rolling our way in for another score, we could have easily won that game. I'll be the first to admit that our D was not stellar and the game plan was maybe a little off, but this was the 1st full game without one of our best LB's. Give some credit to Mizzou for getting pumped up for a home game that they probably consider their rival. There's a lot of talk about not seeing the progress in this team, and I just want to know what the hell you've been watching? The offense got much better once conference play rolled around. The defense slipped a bit, and though they lost a great LB and defensive leader they still led the nation in sacks and came up with big plays pretty often. Don't forget how young this team is either. And how about giving the teams we've played a bit of credit? KU had one of the top defensive teams in the nation. Texas Tech rolled most of their opponents and we could have easily won that game. OU's lost to 4 teams w/a combined 4 losses and that game was winnable as well. I'm not wearing rose-colored glasses, I'm just seeing the positives and taking them for what their worth. We're progressing, the players all seem to be on the same page, and every indication from them and the recruits we're bringing in is that they are excited about this staff and the direction it's headed. So to that I say to hell with the nay-sayers and pessimists, nobody really cares about you or what you think, because you don't matter. If you're a Nebraska fan the you stick w/the program thru thick and thin, good times and bad, because it's the program and the N on the helmet that matters. The players are happy and are behind this coaching staff, the recruits are happy and behind this coaching staff, and until that changes I'll keep my opinion pointed toward the positive and pump some sunshine and wait for this team to climb back into the ranks of the elite.
  6. Info is usually shared shortly after rivals receives it. The main reason is that is becomes public knowledge on news and radio programs. Info cannot be cut/pasted from the site but subscribers on here regularly share info obtained via rivals, big red report, etc.... Any particular recruit you're looking for? The recruiting threads on this site are very accurate and up to date and generally have any info you're looking for.
  7. I don't think there's anything to worry about. I read a report that TE Mike McNeil was at the NU-CU game with a friend, and while he was there Mike and Josh were on the phone the entire time talking about the Huskers, and Josh was trying to convince Mike's buddy (who I believe is a MU commit, not sure, don't even know the kid's name) to come to NU. I think Freeman is about as solid as a commit can be.
  8. So I suppose Andy Reid is to blame for the misery going on in Philly right now? Your logic is plain stupid pal, referring to BC's days in Oakland and him losing his team? They were plagued with cancerous players and injuries to key personnel just like the Eagles are this year. It's no more Andy Reid's fault than it was Callahan's.
  9. Using your logic, would you say Bill Belichick has lost the Patriots? Won the Super Bowl last year, and if he wasn't in a terrible division he wouldn't be heading back to the playoffs this year. Appears the road he's headed is the same as Callahan's with the Raiders, huh?
  10. Man, wouldn't that have been great, partying all day/night Friday and Saturday celebrating the Husker victory with "Frank the Tank!"
  11. I've been to Boulder twice, sat in the CU faculty section and was w/a buddy and I was never harassed or had my car screwed with. Maybe I was one of the lucky minority!
  12. He's not, that was just a heading on a rivals message board. He scheduled a visit somewhere before his commitment to NU. He is taking no other visits.
  13. I don't know why everyone thinks we'll have it so much tougher next year. We don't lose much from a team that was very competitive in every game they played in this year. I don't know if our improvement will result in 9+ wins because our O-line will still be suspect, our safeties will be unproven, and we'll need to establish some playmakers on offense besides Swift. As far as the schedule, I don't know of another team in the country that has the 2 best teams by far on the schedule right now.
  14. I guess that's why Dailey started the entire year after BC brought in 3 QB's more designed to fit his offense? Seems to me that if you follow that insane logic then Beau Davis or Ganz would have been taking snaps in 04 instead of Dailey, right?
  15. The problem I have noticed from Bullocks is that since he made that great strip in the Wake Forest game, he continues to strip it. I don't think he's done it again this year, but that one time has flawed him. And Tiedke plays his A$$ off, and seems pretty knowledgeable, so he's a decent safety but he's not a big hitter and he's not very fast or strong. Fundamentally sound has given him the nod this year. And you can't really blame the coaches for not playing someone else, because I think it was Norvell or Jordan that said if you mess up on offense it's 2nd and 15, if you mess up on defense you usually hear the other team's band playing. Our LB's are pretty good tacklers, but I think the lack of speed still hurts some. With Octavien next year, Steve Allen and Ruud and McKeon a year older we should be much better.
  16. Give Mizzou credit, they have a damn good team!
  17. We may see a change or two on the staff. Remember when Gary Barnett got so pissed off two years ago when Callahan was hired because BC called ESPN recruiting guru Tom Lemming? That phone call wasn't to see which prospects he could snag, it was to see who some of the top recruiting coaches were in the nation, and he didn't have much time to get his staff together so he went after great recruiters first. Elmassian, Busch, Wagner and Blake were surely a couple of recommendations he got from Lemming. Not sure any of these guys will leave, but their coaching skills weren't the first thing looked at on their resume's.
  18. Start Taylor, give Beck a series or two early in the game. Even though he only went 1-6, it was a hell of a throw and also great effort by the kid after throwing the INT to save a TD. That saved the game for us right there. Also the confidence Beck will have now that he has some experience and has his 1st come from behind win @ NU is huge!!! Taylor will be ready, and it was totally the correct decision to burn the redshirt. Gotta go with the best player, and Beck is our next best QB behind Taylor.
  19. Man, Wali is a crazy fool. He plays for the team and says crap like that so obviously he doesn't know crap. He should hang out w/the fans of the program that REALLY know what's going on and then he would realize that BC and SP should be fired and the program is headed down the toilet.
  20. So what do you think of our coach and AD?
  21. Hey, Charlie McBride said Murtha was going to be a star, and he has slightly more football knowledge than I do so I'll take his word for it!
  22. So our RB's can automatically open up holes that our O-line can't create? That would be INCREDIBLE coaching! Watch every game we've played, rarely can our line open a hole for Ross, Lucky, etc...
  23. It's kind of funny that because we're down again, all the nay-sayers and haters are jumping out and saying "I told you so!" and "remember when this was said!" and "fire them all!" and "the WCO will never work!". But most of the same people will be the FIRST ONES to jump on the bandwagon and cheer and smile when we're winning 9 and 10 games again in a few years. Don't deny it, you'll be back. Who cares what was said in the past? We haven't been out of any games this year, and though we got behind and had it handed to us at KU, the team if fighting and scratching and trying as hard as they can. Why do the pessimists always have to blame NU for being so bad instead of giving credit to the opposition? Would anybody on this board take our LB's over KU's, or our DB's over OU's? Probably not! They're better. How about our offense or TTech's? And we had chances to win those games. Take a moment to look at what the future holds. Look at how good our LB's are gonna be w/Steve Octavien back next year and Dillard, McKeon and Ruud a year older. Our CB's a year of experience and another 5* prospect on the way to help. Our rush ends returning w/much of our interior DL as well. On offense, a QB returning, a highly touted RS Frosh waiting in the wings, experience for our great young RB's and definite upgrades to the OL, WR and TE. This year has been a struggle for all Husker fans, and if you're not going to see the light at the end of the tunnel so be it. We're returning a lot of good players that will be better and more experienced and we're going to be much better, and the rest of the North is not going to improve much if at all. CU loses Klatt, MU loses Smith, K-State just sucks, ISU isn't scaring anybody and KU loses a ton on D. I know the angries are just gonna point out anything negative and piss on whatever they can find to piss on, but most knowledgeable, realistic Husker fans are going to see that the team needs just a little more time before they're ruling the conference and the land once again.
  24. That's why the change needed to be made. So we weren't 'pretty good' forever. Now at least we have a chance for talented kids to come in to get us back to being great, unlike what we had when Frank and Co were here.
  25. I seppo is out with injury and slausen steps in. Is that good or bad is the question. Can it get worse than what we've had the last 2-3 games?
