i imagine Michigan does want to get this game in. looking at the standings, considering their loss in game 1, and the fact that Indiana is playing Rutgers, their best chance to win the regular season title is to play and win tonight. after their loss in game 1 they are tied with Indiana. is there a time limit on when the game can start? i suppose there are big 10 rules governing this.
i was thinking the same, but then the huskers come could out next week and go 0-2 in the tournament, sneak into a regional as a 3rd seed, and then go 0-2 there being bounced by an ivy league team.
The internet feed seems to be about 20-30 minutes behind the live game. according to the stats feed at huskers.com, the game is now tied 2-2 in the top of the 3rd.
to add some additional color and pile on, two of the teams that we have swept weekend series with in the Big Ten (MSU and PSU) didn't even make the list of the posted graphic. the other team we swept was Purdue, which is in 11th place. Nebraska has greatly benefited from playing the three weakest teams in the conference.
i know Hagge was able to drive in 1 run today with a soft grounder in the hole, but whenever he comes up with men in scoring position and 2-outs i have no confidence in him getting a hit. in big ten play the guy can't hit his weight.
This game should be blown wide open in favor of the huskers. this team continues to waste opportunities. men on second and third, not outs, and still can't push one across.
bases loaded, no outs, and the huskers can't score?! Hagge flies out, Acker strikes out, and Roskam grounds into a Fielder's choice. This offense has been so anemic this week. 7 total SO for the day, so far. unimpressive.
