  1. Thats me and my son. I actually liked that movie Go Big Red! Beat Texas! ...and while I'm wishing let's have world peace!! Another positive sign! Mercury Rising! It's obvious that things are heating up, the coaches are getting hot, fans are steaming and players are really hot and bothered! They may just come out and beat UT Cook 'em Corns!! Well, I'm just trying to find some hope.. never give up on our boys. GBR !
  2. SOMEBODY out there will like his style of coaching, maybe get him kinda cheap, too. Give him enough time, someone will hire him. Or, he'll write a book. Everyone will buy it just to see what kind of BS he puts in it.
  3. Forget cattle and pigs, It looks like the the largest population of livestock in Nebraska is SHEEP!
  4. InOmaha, Good take on the game... We could put your 9 yo in as DC and your 6 yo in as OC. At least they have the basics down. You could be HC so you can put them in time-out if they get out of hand.
  5. yaaawwwn! IBR should start his own board
  6. Also for those who don't think he's ready...remember Bob Stoops first head coaching gig was/is OU. He's doing pretty well there now. Pelini would be a fresh start and IMO a definite upgrade. Frank Solich would be an upgrade Francione would be an upgrade... hey, HE may be looking for a job next year!
  7. Huskers looked good/improved in the first half without Callahan making the calls, he probably took over in the second half because he thought we had the momentum to go ahead. It seemed he tried to take more credit than he deserved at the half, didn't he say something like 'nothing has changed in the play-calling except Watson is getting more exposure'...? So he started making the stupid offensive calls and dropped the defense that he was supposed to be concentrating on. The defense got worse in the second half so it follows that he started being offense play caller and gave the defense back to Cosgrove. Thus going back to business as usual.
  8. I think we will see another 40+ point game from our opponent We'll perform above par in the 1st and 4th quarters, enough to pull out a win. but a shameful effect on BC & KC I see high numbers of penalties and turnovers on both sides. just the same - tough playing from both teams NU 47 aTm 45 NU Passing 412 NU rushing 119
  9. I know where you are coming from, I've been living in Austin Texas for a long time, I grew up in Nebraska so I'm constantly enduring the longhorn ego. My youngest was born in Texas, my oldest was born in Nebraska but we moved here before she could walk. I live and breath for Nebraska football and tradition. my heart breaks everytime I see our team lose, especially against Texas. My kids don't cheer Texas around me, though they are fans, they are one of the few longhorn fans showing respect. I reciprocate with all Texas fans, but I don't care if they return the respect, as long as my kids do. My Husker flag flies outside my home EVERY DAY! I'm pulling for ya Huskers... Always will!
  10. I voted 2 only on what hope I have left. If they have another non winning season, I'll be heart broken. I've been a fan as long as I can remember, but I've been living in Texas about half my life. I still root for the Huskers and go to a game when I can. Big 12 Championships or Bowl games in San Antonio, or at UT stadium. I've been the only red shirt in a field of burnt orange. It's tough putting up with the Longhorn ego, even worse when we are down like this. I'm hoping for 2 more, at this point mediocre is an improvement to where they are heading.
  11. I'll get in on this... NU 30 (3 FG's 3 TD's 1 by defense) USC 28 (4 hard earned TD's) Rushing yds 202 Passing yds 299
  12. The way I see it is that NU didn't even have to win to go to the champ game. Things were getting a little 'tight' so Cally just decided to let the team have fun and relax - enjoy the game. After that, we started letting loose. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun, despite what most of us fans think. Plus, potential recruits. They see how much our guys enjoy playing the game and seeing the fans go crazy. I hope he's got a bunch more 'trick' plays. I can't wait to see what else he can come up with.
  13. I read that an allotment of about 8500 tickets were released for sale to OU fans and they were sold out Monday morning. If 8500 tix sold out that fast, I don't think there's a lot of them left for the last minute purchasers. They will have at least that many fans, but not much more. http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.db...p;ATCLID=696396
  14. The only problem with playing OU is our sea of red will be indiscernible from their colors. We'll just have to be louder!
  15. Well I don't live in Texas, but I totally got a picture of a creepy hitchhiker moment!!!! I would drive, but my car doesn't have a heater. Don't need it much down here, but if I drive up there with it, it may be trouble. I wish I could drive it. It's a BIG RED Jeep with Husker license plate frame, Husker stem caps and a husker antenna ball. I have a magnetic sign I'd put on it too.
  16. I got sec 301 row 6, 4 seats together. I'll be meeting my brother and nephew and a friend up there. They live up there so I already have a place to stay, I gotta find a way up there from Austin. Anyone else living down here going? If so do you need anyone to help drive and share gas? I'm working on options now. Can't wait, Go Huskers!
  17. I'm counting on going. I bought tickets through eBay, as long as they are honest, I'll be getting them any day! I live in Austin and believe me, it's tough putting up with Longhorns this Longhorns that. I stand up for my team tho' most people give us respect. I loathe the "Hook 'm Horns", I'd like to make a sign with Harry Husker holding a longhorn on a BBQ fork with the caption "Cook 'em Corns!" I'll be meeting my brother and nephew there. Looking forward to a rematch with Texas like we saw in '99
