  1. Jerry Rice has dropped wide open balls before. So has every big name receiver in the history of the game. I think I forgive him.
  2. So he caught 2 outta 3 in his freshman season. Doesn't sound too concerning to me.
  3. Oklahoma State should be outstanding this year. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see them win their first Big 12 title.
  4. You might remember him burning the White defense last spring for a 77-yard TD catch. He went on to finish the season with 2 catches for 11 yards. Is he going to have a breakout season this year or he is just going to end up a perennial backup type like Chris Brooks? Anyone heard how he's progressing?
  5. The most annoying part of the green jerseys is that all the designed QB runs pretty much go out the window. Since the zone read is probably going to be a fairly big part of our offense this year, it sucks we probably won't even see it run in the spring game. That and the option.
  6. Holy sh#t, guys, look what I just found: http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/item/i-love-...ger-t/348499478 This could be HUGE for us!
  7. LMAO... this is comical. Hey guys, look: http://t-shirts.cafepress.com/item/white-tshirt/52795049 ... Let's report this to the NCAA right away, Tebow's done for! Oh man, can't wait to see the look on Urban's face when he realizes his season just went down the crapper. Jesus. Note to self: don't share any mp3s with anyone on this board.
  8. You really think Helu's eligibility was in jeopardy from a random fan selling a t-shirt on eBay? Trust me it wasn't. Also, do you know how many millions of dollars are being made off of college athletes by ESPN and ABC? And you're bothered by a creative fan pulling in enough for a pizza and a movie ticket?
  9. 63 and light showers, sounds like perfect football weather to me.
  10. So, you snitched? Wow. I didn't even really like the T-shirt, but holy sh#t that's lame as hell.
  11. I'm thinking Alex 9, Adi 3 for the final score. Offense was already a step behind and now Paul, Spano and probably Helu won't play.
  12. My source is Kody Spano via Facebook. Surgery is Thursday. I'm sure it will be reported everywhere later today.
  13. Not necessarily. Assuming Lee stays healthy, Green's redshirt will probably depend on how well Washington develops over the next few months. If Washington can be a serviceable backup, Green could very well still redshirt.
  14. Witt leaving suddenly looks like a pretty big deal after all.
  15. He said on Facebook he gets a new ACL Thursday. What does this mean for the season? Can't be good.
  16. Sorry for your losses, but every case is not the same. Paul didn't hurt anyone and we don't even know how much alcohol was in his system. He wasn't being very smart, of course, given all the circumstances. But let's wait until the BAC is released before scheduling the crucifixion.
  17. If you've lost someone to a drunk driver then I'm really sorry. But the fact is that you can drive with alcohol in your system and still be a perfectly safe driver. I know that's not popular opinion, but it's true. Most alcohol-related accidents happen when the offender is completely hammered and has no business being behind the wheel. Since we have no idea how much alcohol was in Paul's system, we should refrain from making any bold statements at this point. We can all agree that for him to be doing any of this was not smart for his sake, and he should have arranged his night to have a sober driver or take a cab. But let's not immediately group him in with wreckless drunks who kill people.
  18. Yeah, I think the death penalty could be a possibility.
  19. So, no spring game and probably won't play against FAU. That's my guess.

  21. First and foremost, the sound system needs a pretty major upgrade before any of this talk is worth talking. I usually sit in the South stadium, and have young ears, and I can barely even hear the music playing to begin with. They could play Polka music for the tunnelwalk and I might not even know it. Now, if the sound system gets updated at some point, then I would be for replacing Sirius, with one very important stipulation: the new song should be an original. Sirius is about as sweet as you're gonna get for a "pump you up" type song that builds the crowd into a fury (you would hope). But it's far from original, obviously (Bulls). So hire a good music producer or two and see when they can come up with. If they can match the brilliance of Sirius (or at least come close) then use the original song. It would be copyrighted by the University so it would be unique, which is always good.
  22. To me, there are two very different types of bad games/moments. The heartbreaking moments when the team gives a great effort but falls just short, and the embarrassing moments when the effort doesn't seem to be there, or the team just gets destroyed. I will keep them in separate lists. Worst heartbreakers: 5. I can't decide between '99 Texas, '96 Texas and '08 Texas Tech. All three were pretty rough. 4. Texas Tech 34, Nebraska 31 (10.8.05): LeKevin Smith. I'd rather not get into it. 3. Texas 22, Nebraska 20 (11.21.06): I was at this game. Texas was ranked #5. Weather was really sh**ty which helped the crowd get nuts (something about a good blizzard or pouring rain helps people lose their social inhibitions... a good gameday substitute for alcohol). Up 20-19 late in the fourth, Terrance Nunn catches a quick slant for a first down that would have allowed us to run out the clock and win the game, but fumbles and Texas recovers to set up for the game winning field goal. 2. Texas 27, Nebraska 24 (11.2.02): I was at this game too. We were coming off an amazing comeback road win against A&M, and a win over #7 Texas would have completely turned the season around. We played them neck and neck the whole way. Groce had a nice return to set us up for a game-tying field goal late in the fourth quarter. We played it aggressively and went for the win, but Nathan Vasher read the corner route at the goalline perfectly and stomped on our hearts. Brutal. 1. Florida State 18, Nebraska 16 (1.1.94): I was ten and this was the first Husker game I really got into. Watched it with my dad and cried my eyes out when we lost. Devastating. Most embarrassing games: 5. Miami 37, Nebraska 14 (1.2.02): I had my rose-colored glasses on and a big 32-ounce Kool-Aid by my side, but we were just so overmatched. 4. Colorado 62, Nebraska 36 (11.23.01): I really don't like Colorado. But they were pretty damn good that year. Were were down 35-3 before we even knew what hit us. Real ugly experience. 3. Missouri 52, Nebraska 17 (10.4.08): Such high expectations for this game. Went with my cousin and found tickets for around $80 a piece (which was a pretty good price for that game). Our defense just couldn't keep up with anyone. A very painful experience. 2. 2007 is sort of a blur. There were several games where we were just utterly helpless, so I'd have to say this is a tie between '07 Oklahoma State, '07 Kansas and '07 Missouri. I would really prefer not to try to recall any further details. 1. Texas Tech 70, Nebraska 10 (10.9.04): Inexcusable, pathetic, ugly. Never ever did I think I would see anything like it.
  23. Ya know, a few years ago I was looking for the same thing. Couldn't dig anything up. I have a Husker room with all my memorabilia displayed, and thought it would be cool to replicate the four corners, but could never find anything. Maybe next time I'm in Lincoln I'll just go take the pics myself. The other sayings: "In the Commemoration of the men of Nebraska who served and fell in the Nation's Wars" "Courage; Generosity; Fairness; Honor; In these are the true awards of manly sport." "Their Lives they held their countrys trust; They kept its faith; They died its heroes."
