  1. Wow ok hadn't watched a replay on that before I posted. That did look pretty bad. I still say there's better ways he could have handled it (this is coming from someone who was once called for a PF after someone in a pile intentionally stabbed me in the eye with their ghetto crack-nail) but I do definitely understand the reaction. Also for clarification me saying Bo probably needs to calm down is coming more from an experience going down that road standpoint than criticism standpoint, otherwise I'd be throwing stones while living in a glass house. I know I definitely don't have the restraint to be a college football head coach or an NBA head coach. Like I said I don't think many Aggies know how to react to getting what would normally be a great win, but doing it with some terrible reffing. I don't think I've ever experienced this before. Anyway sorry for the crappy reffing in our final conference game and good luck to you guys. Hope you boat-race OSU or OU in the Big 12 Championship game and then give Beebee and DeLoss (tu AD) a large, red middle finger as you leave the Tiny 10 Conference. Then I hope we follow ya'll out soon.
  2. Look it was poorly reffed, seemed one-sided, and I especially hated a great defensive game ending on a drive kept alive by an atrocious, inexcusable call. But it was no more poorly reffed than the 2006 game in Kyle field where NU got ridiculous calls in the 4th to pull out a win against us. It was no worse reffed than our last game (Baylor) where we had 4 TDs in a row called back for phantom or nit-picky fouls. It was no worse reffed than our game before that where we pulled out the OU win despite the continual hose job from the refs. Big 12 reffing sucks. Period. It is just one of the many reasons I hope we leave for the SEC as soon as we get another chance and am disappointed that we didn't leave this last offseason. But if you think there was some conspiracy involving last night's game I'd say that's pretty silly. 2/3rds of NU's penalties were dead-ball penalties due to lack of focus or discipline. Your head coach going apesh** halfway through the first quarter over any call or non-call that doesn't go his way (when there were plenty non-calls that did) is a recipe for disaster and doesn't help.
  3. An Aggie and I'll agree with most of the OP's post. Game was poorly officiated. Bo P needs to keep his cool a bit better, which might help his kids keep their cool. If someone grabbed Cotton that's terrible, but he needs to be smarter than that and there's ways to react and defend yourself without flailing your cleats at the closest defender to the pile (who if someone was grabbing him that wasn't the guy) right in front of a ref. For the most part refs were letting lots of contact go in the secondary both ways and lots of holding go (in NU's first series there was a play where both defenders at the point of attack were unable to make the play because they were being pulled by their jerseys from behind). I think the only reason that pass interference call against NU was made was because the defender never turned his head on an under thrown ball and completely impeded the receiver from having a chance to get there. I don't remember either of the two NU holding penalties being especially terrible that they would warrant calls when all the other ones for both teams were let go. Depending on timing this again could be refs hissed off at Bo P for continued berating making a call they shouldn't have. Doesn't excuse it if that's the case, but again Bo getting on the refs early, often, and pretty over the top is always going to have potential for that type of bias. There were two late hit calls on Nebraska players after the play was virtually over, but before the whistle was blown. Refs should protect players by getting on their whistles promptly, not by throwing flags on guys playing to the whistle. Neither of those were game-changers but they outlined the poor reffing. That late hit on our QB is a terrible, terrible, terrible call and as I was going to bed last night I told my wife I had a bad taste in my mouth about this win because of that call. Not only is it wrong to call a foul when the defender was a step away as the QB let the ball go, but in that situation (incomplete 3rd down late in a tied ballgame) that really has to be an absolutely obviously late hit with intent to injure for a ref to make that call. Its football. People hit people. Anyway I thought it was a great, clean hit by the defender and a great job of Tannehill staying in there to release the ball and take the hit. No flag should have been thrown. It was a tie game so who knows who it would have turned out had they not made that call in particular, but I feel no joy in winning with that drive being the winning score. As Aggies this is the first time I can ever remember calls going our way in this magnitude, we are used to the opposite most years when we play the klanhorns, this year against Baylor and OU, and if anyone remembers the terrible reffing in 2006 when NU beat us. So I understand and feel for you. I honestly don't think there was any fix in, but it was a very, very poorly reffed game. I hate to see classy teams like NU lose games like this especially when you're ranked as highly as you were with a chance at a good BCS game. So take that for whats its worth and flame away if you will.
  4. KU down 17-14 now. Gonna need a few OSU turnovers I think. Come on KU!!! We need them to beat OSU for us to have a chance at the Big 12 Souf.
  5. Look, both the Aggies and Husker fans are a bit cultish, each having our own seemingly pointless traditions to those on the outside that are huge deals to those on the inside. So for someone from one of our schools to mock and belittle the traditions and fanbases of the other school is... .... COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE SINCE WE'RE ABOUT TO PLAY FOOTBALL, NOT MIXED-DOUBLES TENNIS. F*** you! F*** you! You're cool. F*** you! Those of us still walking can share some beers after the game
  6. Mark May picking us is not exactly a good thing. From an Aggie message board: Topic: Mark May picks A&M Kiss of death... mutha****er ESPN hates you. (from a Sooner) We will overcome all odds. Mark May loves Tannehill and Gray. ****. This can't be good. Is this worse than the Ref's being against us? Much worse F*** ...it continues on like that for several pages
  7. Good luck today, Huskers. I hope this last conference game between us is a good one and most Aggies are very sorry that this will be the last one. There are a lot of similarities between our fan bases. In general both fan bases strive to be courteous and welcoming to most other fans (we can both hate the klanhorns that's ok). Both fan bases pride themselves on supporting their teams through the good times, the bad times, and the terrible times. We took our 'Maroon Out' idea from Husker fans and I've enjoyed them each time we've played them at Kyle Field. While Husker fans do still travel a bit better than Aggies, we're working on that. So good luck guys. I hope its a great, exciting game where we eek out a victory and then next week go smother the klanhorns like their mothers should have done 20 years ago. Hopefully we can schedule NU in non-conference games in all sports, as I think both sides have enjoyed playing each other. Especially if/when (please, please, please) we leave for the SEC. -Farva
  8. Please stop banning klanhorns here. Every time one of those dirty, obsessed burnt orange racists gets banned here they rush over to Aggie websites and resume posting. We were praying Nebraska could give us a reprieve and occupy them for a week. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
  9. 1) They are considering changing campus building names to no longer be named after KKK founders, who gave pro-klan speeches on campus. 2) They have not cheated to win games yet this season. 3) They have not decimated the MLK statue on campus for the last few months.

Good luck this week corn. From a Texas A&M board
  11. To all the Husker fans from an Aggie, good luck with the new coach. Recently both our programs have fallen into the similar situations (though ours toiled there a little longer before we made a change). Keep the faith and I hope next time we meet we're both back to where we want to be. I think a NU-A&M rivalry would be great, and even better if it involved putting Kansas, Mizzou, Texas Tceh and tu back in their place. Until then good luck guys! Maybe we'll be able to play before 2010 - in a B12C game?
  12. F!!! Ok, after our not showing up to face the Cal pansies, I'm gonna need some vindication. Tell you guys what I'm gonna hit some husker tailgates.
  13. Yeah, apparently you missed Desmond Howards comments. He gave a complete game analysis for texas playing cal in the holiday bowl, and said if he could only watch one bowl game that's the one he wanted to watch. He apparently didn't read papers or do any research to know who was actually playing. I was just poking fun at his ignorance. Gig 'em Huskers. ...and yeah that feels a little weird to say.
  14. Hopefully we'll be in different sections. I have to spend Christmas in Austin, and will be very tired of seeing orange by then. Oh and good luck to ya'll in the Holiday Bowl. Per Desmond Howard, tu will match up well against Cal. ...and Go Nebraska. and stuff.
  15. Since we can't take off work to go to California (and since according to Desmond Howard t.u. is playing Cal in the Holiday Bowl anyway) we're going to root for the Big 12 at the Cotton Bowl. ...so when you see 2 Aggies in maroon first deck near the 50, please don't throw things at us. That's the closest thing we have to red. Also, what are some Nebraska cheers/chants/customs we should know about so we can fit in? I've been to several A&M v Nebraska games but haven't paid enough attention to know what we need to do.
