  1. Said the exact same thing, just kick it into the end zone and make them come 60+ yards. So sad...
  2. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Sick to my stomach. 1984 Orange Bowl All Over Again Feeling. Sh$#!

  5. Seriously, I am considering taking all of our offensive plays and cutting them into a video that I can sell as a national sleep aid. Wow, we are boring beyond belief and next week is not going to be pretty. Our defense will play well and give Texas all they can handle but I am afraid they will wear down as the game goes on as they will be on the field most of the night. Hope I am wrong but would take a miracle like Watson forgetting his playbook at home and maybe making some new stuff up...
  6. Hmmm, I am excited too of course, but I am also realistic. We are 8-3 with 3 wins coming from junior varsity teams (equivalent too at least), a win against what is now a bad Oklahoma team, a not-so-good Kansas team either and a loss to Iowa State. Our offense is still horrible but we have one of the best defenses in the country. So I think it's premature to say we are officially back as winning the North to me doesn't seem like that much of an accomplishment considering everything listed above. I know some or most will disagree, but you got to look at this with a clear head and not just your enthusiasm from winning tonight.
  7. I would like to honestly know from you the readers and posters of this board, would it work to go back to recruiting a QB who can run and pass like the likes of Frazier, Gill, Crouch and Frost? Put the option back in and run opponents to death each game so they are panting by the middle of the 3rd quarter? I know everyone says you have to have a spread offense now and those old days of running the football don't work anymore, but why? This is what made NU different and great each and every year for decades. Yes, it faltered a bit under Solich but his worst season was still better than what we are looking like now or these past several years. We are now a passing team with an inept offense that goes 3 and out for the majority of a game. Our QB runs, ducks and slides instead of knocking the crap out of the tacklers like others have done in the past. Please enlighten me here...
  8. Yes, pathetic is the only way I can describe this one. Our offense includes maybe 2-3 plays from the looks of it and 2 of those are pass to the side or behind the line of scrimmage and run for a yard and then get smacked. Or maybe run up the middle for a few yards and get smacked. I was bored out of my mind watching this game but it's been this way the whole season (except the 4th Qtr. last week). Terrible offensive plays and I am not even sure how much of it is Lee as the calls he's given are just plain awful. I am sick.
  9. Not sure if this was posted on here yet, but I think one of the key moments that possibly saved the day for the Huskers was Henry having the smarts and knowwithall to throw that ball out of the end zone for a safety as he was about to hit the ground. That 2 points could have easily been 7 points and a real game changer. Henry played well last night considering the crazy snaps he was getting and the wet weather. • Loved our ability to come back! • Was perplexed by our play calling, Lee's inability to throw to the pads of his receivers. Great game though! Good to be a Husker today and every day!
  10. Big Willie, you make sense here on the 4th and 1, but my point is that the three plays before this, you should play as if you are down by 5 and have to score a TD to win. I hate it when teams become passive when they are up in close games at the end and allow their offense to just be satisfied to not turn the ball over and not worry about getting a first down. One first down and we would have won or could have moved into to kick our 6th field goal, but instead we move the ball 9 yards and kick it away and only take 16 seconds off the clock..
  11. I am just saying, and I think you all felt it, but Virginia Tech did nothing all day as our defense shut them down so you kind of just knew that they would mount a comeback, lucky or not, if they got the ball back AGAIN. Our offense should have played to score or get a first down on that last possession but instead went into super conservative mode and gave the ball right back while taking 16 seconds off the clock. Going for it on 4th and 1 would have least given us a chance to take charge of our own destiny.
  12. You are exactly right, everyone in Husker land knew that Virginia Tech would mount a lucky comeback if they got the ball back again with 1:51 on the clock and we play 3 downs of preventive offense and then kick them the ball. I knew it was over at that point. Just terrible coaching today, QB struggled Big Time, penalties, UGH!
  13. Pathetic is about the only way I can describe this game. The thing that sticks out most for me, besides getting only field goals during the game and no TD's, was getting the ball back with 2:08 on the clock and then playing passive. You just knew in the back of your mind that Virginia Tech would mount a score if they got the ball back again as that's the way sports work -- momentum. Should have tried to move the ball down the filed as if we needed another score, not content to just give them the ball back and take another chance with defense. As soon as we kicked, it was over. Just poor offensive execution and play calling throughout the game and especially there at the end. What a waste. So stunned right now. Poor use of timeouts through the game as well. Just some major player penalties and coaching errors.
  14. Just disappointed in the offense, the offensive play calling, Bo's lack of mental awareness on that penalty and I especially didn't like seeing the guys dance on the sideline, looked unprofessional. Beat the teams with your play and not your acting... And still miss the days of wearing the opposing teams out by the end of the 3rd Qtr with our running game...
  15. Couldn't agree more, the Big 12 Title game is all about money and should be canceled. It's ridiculous that Big 12 teams have to play 1-2 more games than everyone else...get rid of the BCS and go back to two polls that are then combined at the end of the season to determine the winner.
