  1. Should I give a crap what Crotch has to say? Might have been a good player on the field, but off the field and since he left, he is nothing mut an embarassment -- now their is a quitter. If you don't think this kid wasn't a true Husker Hero, you are flat out nuts. You should think about an apology to the board.
  2. Besides a QB that is mobile and can take punishment; why cannot a WCO set of recruits run a spread option attack? We need the quickness and strength of the WCO O-line and the receivers/blocking downfield to get open on play action passes. Looks like we have running skills if the line could provide an opportunity. Why could the right coaching staff not take our kids recruited for the WCO and make them successful in something besides the WCO. Football is football. Quickness and toughness is needed in whatever offense you run. I don't see this as a problem if the recruiting classes have actually been as good as reported. Is the quality of the new kids smoke up our butt too? If the recruiting quality has been questionable, we have a long road back.
  3. I don't know; Bo saw what the University did to Solich - kicked Solich in the ass on the way out the door - AND - then Bo had a very sour taste left in his mouth with the limited opportunity to compete for the Head Coaching Job he wanted very much. He was just looked over.....OK, PUD is gone, but who stood up for Bo at the University? Why would he come back? To pick up the pieces of a broken program? We are at the bottom of a really deep hole. Who wants to take on challange like this if they have other opportunities? "Nebraska" just does not mean what it did 10 years ago......WE are no longer important in the big picture of college football. It hurts to admit this, but it is the truth.
  4. What does Callihan expect to see on that friggin play chart he carries and has his eyes glued to? Does he expect it to show him devine intervention? We have hit the bottom of the gutter and are out cold................ Man, I just feel like I've been kicked in the gut!
  5. Didn't Devany come from Wyoming? Good Karma?
  6. These are the very best words anyone could write to describe how I feel too. I really respect your ability to sum up this fiasco. Thank you very much.
  7. Wasn't Solich Osborne's hand picked replacement........
  8. This is exactly what has been happening all year long. Nothing new. Nothing special. I don't see this team making a change for the better. Yikes!
  9. Bulls*%t. There isn't even a janitor left from the Osborne days in the Nebraska Football Program. I say he didn't understand (and to a greater degree and much more responsible Steve P didn't understand) what Big Red means to Nebraskans. Shock and Awe was the name of the game when they attacked this program. This has been a terrible experiment in regime change and I don't know where or how to change the slide. I'm just sick, these guys have screwed up the tradition of Nebraska Football so bad....
  10. I would really like to agree with you and just say USC was that good. The problem is we got beat bad on the run between the tackles just like we got beat last week at WF. Same sized holes and same long runs. The D-Line was pushed around again and the linebackers didn't tackle into the secondary. This is a reoccuring Nebraska problem, not a USC issue. I thought Keller did a better job under pressure this week, he just didn't have an O-line to protect him or provide for a running game. Kind of like last week at WF. We used a different priority on receivers, i.e., who got the ball, which I thought worked better this week.
  11. Thanks very, very much. I've got the 96 Fiesta Bowl DVD I wanted on the way! Man, you can find anything between Google and Ebay!
  12. I've purchased the non-CBS version and honestly, it is kind of boring - just is not the same game as with the CBS play-by-play. What I'm looking for is a source for the network versions of past games. Thanks.
  13. How can a guy get good quality duplicates of Husker games broadcast on network TV? For example, I would really love to come up with a good quality copy of the '95 Huskers' Fiesta Bowl with the CBS audio - mine is worn out! That is my very favorite all-time game and when the Husker mood hits us in the middle of off season here in Oregon - watching that game makes us feel like we are back home having Lee's Chicken, Val's pizza and a Runza all rolled into one!
  14. Husker BCS: Tom Osborn used to pull off trick plays with class. Some worked, some didn't work. The hotheads called for his scalp then, only to worship him after the next game or the next championship. Coach Osborn took some really big chances over the years - you make decisions based on experience and knowledge of your team - today Callahan figured we couldn't make a 45 yard FG so he made the correct decision to go with the high percentage play. Today he figured there was a very high percentage the fake punt would work - it nearly did - he knows more about our team's capabilities than we do. Callahan is doing a great job. He is bringing quality kids into the program and doing it with one arm tied behind his back. How hard would it be to convince kids to come and play in Lincoln when Tempe, LA or Miami is also making the same promises? You are 17 year old kid and see the beaches in LA versus what Lincoln can offer - what choice do you make? Don't get me wrong, I love Lincoln and the Huskers - but given the chance to live in Miami or LA or Lincoln - when you are 17 - tough choice..... River-Runner
