  1. I've been to both a night game and a day game at Columbia, and I can assure you that a night game would be a HUGE advantage for Mizzou. The crowd was a rowdy bunch of f'in drunk animals at the night game, and it was a much more calm atmosphere at the day game. I hate early games as much as anyone. However, for the Huskers and for us fans going to Columbia, a day game would be better. I have a bad feeling about that game...For whatever reason, Mizzou always puts together their best game of their season whenever they play us at their house. Our defense is going to have to improve dramatically before I will feel any better about our chances of winning.
  2. I completely agree that we need some former Blackshirts to come into Lincoln and give the boys a little history lesson. Even better yet, the NU staff needs someone like Wistrom or Peter to come in as a Grad Asst and inject some passion and tough leadership into the Blackshirts. As anyone at the game can see, when Grant Wistrom did the pregame announcement of the defense, he was more stoked than any Blackshirt that hit the field Saturday night. Other than Bowman we have terrible leadership. We all know that Wistrom and Peter would put the fear of God into anyone who screwed up in practice or in a game. I just don't see anyone other than Bowman displaying any type of leadership. Where are our hellraisers??????
  3. Oh yeah, well I heard that USC paid representatives from Nevada and Wake Forest to videotape our sidelines so that they could steal our signals. That's got to be the only way that USC was able to run the ball so effectively against our defense!!!!
  4. Thought everyone might be interested in hearing this...pretty interesting view of Callahan from a former player. http://podcast.bigsports590.com/Portals/55...im%20Brown).mp3
  5. I've been there twice as well, but I haven't sat there, either. I do recall that it's a fairly steep, grassy hill, with a "M" made out of white rock. Not sure if it's the best place in the world to watch the game, but at least you'd be in the stadium.
  6. So, is everyone saying that THE SKY IS NOT FALLING, and we should give Callahan more time, especially considering that other major football programs are struggling worse than we are?
  7. Given the number of big name coaches that are rumored to be "on the hotseat", which coach would you take over Bill Callahan? 1. Phillip Fulmer-Tennessee 2. Lloyd Carr-Michigan 3. Charlie Weis-Notre Dame 4. Bobby Bowden-Florida St. 5. Tommy Tubberville-Auburn 6. Kirk Ferentz-Iowa
  8. 100 times better than this year's Tunnel Walk!
  9. Yep, same stupid one. I was more impressed with the fly-over than the tunnel walk video.
  10. I don't know if anyone else saw this outside Memorial Stadium before the game, but there was a dude dressed in a full chicken costume running around with a "Another Broken Condom" sign, and he was awesome! Maybe he could be hired to be our mascot for our defense.
  11. After watching the Oregon Duck kick another mascot's butt, I think we need Herbie to kick another team's mascot's butt in order to receive some "street credit" among the other mascots. Word would get out to all of the mascots, which would instill fear into opposing teams when they come to Lincoln.
  12. Compliments of Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio: Do you know how many batteries it takes to shock a Michigan fan???? Answer: 1 Double-A HA HA HA HA!!!!!!
  13. Thanks to everyone who put on the tailgate party. I thought it was pretty cool, and I have received alot of favorable comments about the t-shirt. Hopefully, you will get a ton of new orders. It's just too bad that College Gameday and the tailgating atmosphere was much better than the game. Keep up the good work!
  14. Couple other signs I saw: "Kirk and Mark like it in the Booty" "Corso..buy us a keg" "USC fans...Man purses are not allowed into Memorial Stadium" There were also some pretty cool shirts that read: "You don't need a Trojan when you do it in the Booty" "The only Trojan I like is the one I wore last night" One last note: Thank you First National Bank for making the dumbest decision ever...who's idea was it to give everyone circular seat cushions? First, NOBODY sat during College Gameday and second, did nobody think that a circlular-disc-like object would not turn into a flying object?
  15. The best part of Gameday was when Kirk first came out to the set, which led Husker Nation to collectively BOO! him. A few seconds later, some students started a "JUST SAY SORRY!" chant that everyone started to shout. It was hilarious! About the whale sign, the best part was that the students were able to pass around the sign for quite a while before security could take it away. We would see the sign for a second, everyone would laugh, and then the sign would discretely get passed down the line until you saw it held up again, but in a completely different section of the crowd. Security kept trying to chase after the sign, but were a step behind before they finally got it. The OJ sign was not held up until the end of the show, as I'm sure that the maker of the sign decided to keep the sign hidden until the end so that it would not get taken away. Hilarious sign, though. I have pictures of these signs...I'll try to post them later.
  16. I completely agree. I guarantee you that NU's defense would not have been completely overwhelmed by USC had Pelini been our DC. I'm not saying that we would have won, but I'm tired of our lackluster defense. Pelini did not have a ton of talent when he was here at NU, but his players played their guts out, and he was able to get the most out of them. His fire and intensity was contagious. Now, we can't get a turnover or big play to save our life, we can't tackle our way out of a wet paper sack, and our defense plays with no passion or intensity. I yelled my a$$ off last night to support the Blackshirts (YES, I stayed and yelled the whole game like real fans should!), and they didn't even show up last night. NOBODY even deserves to wear a Blackshirt to practice this week. Defense is just as much about playing with passion and intensity as it is about schemes. For that, both the players and Defensive Coaches equally share the blame. There...I ranted and I still feel like crap!
  17. Thanks Elliot...these jams are giving me goosebumps!!!!!
  18. HEY SNOOP.... (PICTURE OF EAR OF CORN) > (PICTURE OF MARIJUANA LEAF)
  19. For those of you who haven't heard about the "Brent Musburger Drinking Game", here's a way to get trashed in a hurry: http://www.fanblogs.com/ncaa/005660.php
  20. Here's another one that I heard: You may have the BOOTY...but you're not getting LUCKY tonight!!!!
  21. Agreed....How come it seems like we can never stop someone in short yardage situations? Also, if we have two plays to gain two yards and have a much improved offensive line and great RB, why is it so difficult to get a first down to seal the game? Short yardage is about attitude as much as it is about play calling.
  22. I just thought of something while watching the LSU game: We're probably going to have Brent "open container" Musburger announcing the NU/USC game. As if we needed another hated media jerk infiltrating our state next Saturday. New sign idea... Hey Brent...This Bud's for You!!!!!! Of course, if I had to work with crybaby Herbstreit every week, I'd want to down some beers right after the game as well!!!!!
