Anyone else listen to Bo's postgame with Greg Sharpe? Responds "What do you think" to a question about turnovers. Here's an idea Bo, if you don't want to field questions about turnovers, then why do you feld the most fumble-prone team in the FBS team? If you're gonna lose, lose like a man and treat people with a little respect. It's not like Sharpe is there just trying to tick you off- you're answering questions for the fan base. Extremely disappointing behavior. Time to grow up Bo.

Same thing happens if you Google "NU football." Most likely because people normally just Google 'Husker Football' or 'Nebraska football.' Can't Google 'Wildcats football' because there are tons of teams with the mascot.

This team doesn't even deserve to have its scores shown on ESPN. Who is likeable on the team? Who do we have to look forward to? We scored 2 points in the first 10 minutes- 2! Awful, just awful.

Least favorite team in years. Poor coaching, poor decisions, poor recruiting. Nothing to be excited for now or in the future. Low point for the program.

Looks like the line opened at Nebraska -4. Seems a little too far on our side- even with home field advantage this game feels at least like a pick 'em.

And when he wins it is against poor teams and it is ugly. Bo has simply done a very poor job as a head coach. Poor preparation. Teams fielded w/o heart or passion. Teams unprepared, poor assignment football --- worse than any team I have seen. They play flat, lifeless against weak competition. And freak out against good competition --- imploding and killing themselves. Poor offensive game plans. And now, oddly, even the defense is not fundamentally sound. I think that Bo has to be viewed now as coaching for his job --- that is, from here on out this season, he better improve a great, great deal or he will be on the hot seat. This game did not at all surprise me. I predicted a big loss and even stated that the potential for a blow out was there --- I went on record and said Wisconsin by 21-35 pts. Why? Because of our poor coaching (and the resulting play of under-prepared players who are not focused). Thus, my stating that Bo has been doing a poor job as a head coach is not an over reaction to one game. I cannot over-react to a game that I predicted, essentially would go precisely as it went. I have been softly posting for the past year that Bo is wildly over-rated by most posters here --- and that he has done well, well below average as a head coach. He is seemingly not getting better. I now fear that he has lost this team... or... at the very least, is losing the team. I predicted before the season began that NU would lose 4 games in conference. That again was predicated upon the past inability of Bo to ready his teams. We will lose 3 more times in conference --- maybe 4 more. That Bo has not played Carnes for at least 1 quarter of each of the first four games against the cream puffs is inexcusable. the kid needs reps. He may not be a D1 QB either... but the one starting is CERTAINLY not. As much as I wish it was not the case, Martinez is no D1 QB. That is clear now and it was clear long ago. An... he is not really that good of a runner either -- check his stats against conference competition. Last night, Martinez needed to sit some and get unrattled --- but Bo did not provide a context for such as he did not prepare his back-up earlier in the season. None of this is a surprise. It all plots as a pretty straight line --- Bo has been consistent from the start --- over his time here the NU team has game in and game out under-performed --- always weak on fundamentals, passion, drive, physicality, and focus --- almost always with poor coaching on offense, poor roster management from the start, and now even (and this is both new and odd) coaching problems on defense. Buckle up folks... this season is set for much of the same. The past always is the best predictor of the future. Holy cow- is this a joke? We have to be the most short-sighted, spoiled fans of all time. Sorry that Bo has only won 9, 10, and 10 games his first three seasons. Sorry that we haven't had a bad, beatdown loss since 2008. And his opinion that we should expect more of the same in the future under Bo is one that is steadily gaining the weight of facts and evidence to back it up. Nobody called for Pelini's head, but I'll reiterate something I said last year when we were hiring coordinators. I won't blame Tim Beck for the offensive meltdown. Pelini had the chance to go out and get basically anyone he wanted. He chose his buddy from a failed staff. From here on, our success or failure is on Pelini, and if we drop four conference games, you better believe lighters are flicking under his seat. Agree 100%. We cannot be a successful football team if our QB cant throw the football. Plain and simple. Watch the first quarter. He can throw the football. Then watch the second quarter/first play of the second half. We threw the ball 14 times out of 15 plays. Tim Beck decided that he was Steve Spurrier and he had Danny Wuerffel at QB. That's not balanced offense. That's not what this offense should be. It's one thing to blame Martinez for not being able to pass well enough to run a balanced offense - but he did, we had a balanced offense that was humming in the first quarter. The problem is, Martinez can't pass well enough to run the fun-n-gun offense, and that's what why we fell apart. The more distance I get from this game, the more blame I put on Tim Beck for the offensive performance... sadly, the defense was even worse, just no one even knows where to begin on that side of the ball. He can not, and will not, ever be able to 'consistently' make the throw when he has to. Sure, he has proven he is going to make it stick to the wall every once in a while. Several of us have been saying this for about a year and nothing has changed. It shouldn't be a news flash. I don't get the Beck play calling thing at all. All these runs that wouldn't work would be eerily similar to Solich or Watson. Like he should have a book that says Martinez can only throw on this down and distance or this many consecutive times. Receivers are OPEN! Teams have been selling out on our run for over year and people still think we should go three an out on three two yard runs. I can't figure it out. Obviously there is no way for me to prove it, but this offense would be pretty impressive with a 'Decent' QB IMO. You guys aren't recognizing the difference between PA and drop-back passing. Martinez excels in PA, option pass. As Hercules pointed out, it's not just the Beck abandoned the run, he abandoned PA along with it. Martinez is not a drop-back passer obviously, so having him drop-back 12/14 times is just silly. Complete abandonment of 1st Q game plan.

How did they score so easily? 21 points off of ints. How did we throw ints? Going 3-4 wide and drop-back passing. This game turned when they scored 14 at the end of the 1st half due to picks. Defense didn't play well, but offense just gave this game on a platter from end of 2nd quarter to beginning of 3rd. I suggest you review the run/pass mix for 2nd/3rd quarter to refresh your memory.

I blame the person who put Taylor in that position. Look at the 2nd to last drive of the first half. Wisc was rushing 3, dropping 8, yet we called drop back passes over and over. This is just throwing him to the wolves.

This was a heat of the moment post. Now that I'm thinking a little more clearly, Beck showed a little inexperience in managing the game at the end of the first half. Arguably that's where the game went south. Even though he was OC at KU in 2007, maybe we can chalk this one up to "freshmen" mistakes.

Pretty sorry play calling in 2nd quarter and 3rd quarter. Just because there's a 5 yard penalty doesn't mean you abandon the run. If there's one thing we've learned, Taylor is a play-action passer. Thought we figured out in the B12CG last year that drop back passing ain't his cup of tea.

I have nothing against holding Nebraska football to high standards- Nebraska fans deserve results given the huge amount they invest in the program. The most impressive stat to me about Pelini's tenure so far: the number of blowout losses in recent years. Here are some of our last losses: 2010 Washington: 19 - 7 (12 points) 2010 #9 Oklahoma: 23 - 20 (3 points) 2010 #19 TAMU: 9 - 6 (3 points) 2010 *****: 20 - 13 (7 points) 2009: #3 *****: 13-12 (1 point) 2009: TTU: 31-10 (21 points) Other than the Holiday Bowl last year against Washington, which doesn't qualify as a blowout in my mind, the last blowout loss we have had was October 17, 2009, almost 2 years ago. The offense can be hard to watch at time, but I for one am thankful that it has almost been 2 years since I have seen Nebraska get blown out. Don't forget 2007 or even 2008 when Nebraska played games that were over after the 1st quarter.

I think this really tells the story of how ugly our game was today offensively, beyond the final averages, which look impressive. To be clear, I am not a fan in the slightest of the "If you take away [all the best plays], yeah, he didn't do anything." But what we can see here is that against a FCS team, we broke three very long runs because of pure athleticism (and broken defensive plays, you could argue). Either one is good to have, but those runs were going to be good from whatever point on the field the play started. So we have relied on that to beat an FCS team, which is not the bad thing, because it's expected that we can do that. The bad part is that you can take a look at the other 90% of our run plays and see a lot of our playmakers being stuffed. By UTC. This is what my post disagrees with. This is what I agree with. UTC was selling out completely to the run. We ran no wrinkles (aka play action), other than a few quick out passes out of the I. UTC knew what was coming- we were just running it again and again to get it right.
