I can still recall as a young boy watching the 1970 &71 teams win the NC. Just think of the husker fans who didnt have a thing to cheer about until a small man with a big heart and bigger dreams came from Wyoming to coach a future juggernaut that would reign for some 40 years.We who have been through the mediocre and trying times at NU before the 90's supremacy can still recall a time when the young men from across the state and possibly the nation look towards a man who many thought of as a surrogate father of sorts. Many of the naysayers at the time did not believe and the man was chastised as an underachiever.Not one molded in greatness as his predecessor. But we still stood steadfast and hoped with all of our husker nation hearts that our time would come again....As time progressed, so did the Husker faithful. Until the one time underachiever was now a glowing example of midwestern fortitude and a blue collar workman, who instilled the same ferocious traits in his team that many midwesterners live daily. My family were one of the first settlers who lived in a sod home in Sherman county Nebraska. They never lost faith in some day making a better life for their family and their future generations and I will never lose faith that the groundwork was laid and will be laid again. I'm not trying to blow sunshine and I agree that a change is due in our defensive staff......But I refuse to let the many who have come before me, be disgraced by not being a loyal fan of the Big Red.If the south can do it so will the Huskers,But WE WILL RISE AGAIN!! I believe bill has the O going in the right direction COZ must go............But please people KEEP THE FAITH! GOD BLESS TOM OSBORNE AND GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!

Spoken like a true generation x'er. We can still show recruits around the country that the fans here at NU will support THEM and our once proud program. Have some class and fortitude and stand behing your team. Lets not abandon the kids and our once proud tradition. Heads should roll,but you may be loping your own head off by not supporting our program and hiding behind a keyboard and spouting. I will be there in support of our team and the kids on the field

Tech promoted from within. their situation sounded very similar to ours. the Iowa st team that got 400 yards and over 100 plays on us only had 170 against them when they started subbing in people LATE in the 4th. so there is certainly precedence for this type of a move. And once again...who should we promote and why? Who has shown the least bit of promise on our defensive staff. Not to mention who has show the least bit of promise running the entire defense, let alone just their respective area? This is pretty typical of this argument. "Fire him and bring in...anyone." "Who?" "I dunno, anyone." I'm still waiting. Heres a novel idea.........Let Callahan take over the defense and let the O.C take the Offense for the rest of the year.I mean really,how much more worse can it get?

I was also told that Venables was a coach at NU awhile back( or a low ranking asst.) I dont recall him ever being at NU and I've been watchin the sker's for 35 years now. Heard from a friend here in god forsaken Manhattan ks. that Brent Venables has gotten some back door mention of coming to lincoln. I dont know if some feelers have been put out or what...........Anyone else heard anything about this? GBR!!!!!!!

Coz has turned our once proud Blackshirts into the Black Skirts now. After Callahan goes through his scripted plays he seems to go into his regular shell. One of the things that made T.O so good was the way he could adjust. This coaching group just doen't seem to have the ability to adjust at all. I never see Callahan let Keller change plays at the line of scrimmage, I think he should have that option. Oh well on to Ball St.

Its not that he forgot he is coached to look at the receivers not for the ball. Everyone in our secondary is taught to face guard, or react to the player not the play. Until that is changed we are not going to get better IMO. Do you know this for fact, or are you just speculating? If it is indeed correct, what keeps the opposing QB from simply throwing it a little short? The receiver will be the only one that sees it and come back for the ball. If our DB is faceguarding, he'll either A) give up a big pass play or B) get called for pass interference. When I was in high school, we were taught to keep our eye on the receiver until his eyes got big. When his eyes got big, it meant the ball was about to get there. As soon as we saw the receiver get wide eyed, we were to turn around and try to get the ball. I realize the high school level is a lot more elementary than college, but faceguarding is just not what I would think is recommended. There is no face guarding in CFB

I agree it seemed like some of Kellers throws were a little late.But Keller will be much more settled in game #2 "we always make the most improvements between the 1st and 2nd game" I think Callahan will take the cuffs off of Keller alot more for USC!

Great running by Lucky today...But let's not forget that Nevada is no WF or USC. Anyway, Lucky did look good though and Castille is gonna be a monster! I hope we can keep blowin em off the line to give Lucky the opportunities that he had today. GBR!!!!
