  1. This is a very good post. It is so upsetting to hear this banter from players and coaches. Amazing that you don't hear enthusiasm and confidence from us like you do other BIG 12 teams. Everyone complains Mizzou is 'talking' well at least I hear some confidence and not whining and accepting of mediocrity.
  2. Insert NU into that at large spot only if they lose the Big XII championship game. Have faith fellas it could still happen. Yeah, and so "could" TX, KSU, Mizzou, KU, CU and T Tech. It would talk a drastic miracle to be an at large team. And with 2 losses, which means no top notch wins, then I seriously doubt it. It would only work if A LOT of other teams lost 2 or more games. Well what if we don't lose anymore games. You can't tell me right now that any game is a for sure loss. Look at how this season has gone. KSUcks come to our place and they won't beat us there. We go to an overrated KU team that I really don't think is as good as some people think. Look at what KSUcks did to Texas at their house I definately know we can do that! aTm comes to our house and is a team on the downfall. sCUm got lucky! We also get OSU at our house and I don't think they will beat us there. JMO I know you have yours I just think we really can get this done. I like your enthusiasm, we need more of it. Everyone says we could lose everyone of the rest of our games.....well we could win them just as easily. What happens if everyone starts clicking and we get this machine rolling, we could see something special. Just have to wait and see it play out. Every game being winnable and winning 7 in a row (4 on the road) are 2 TOTALLY different things. Yes, every game is winnable but it is extremely difficult and very unlikely to win 7 in a row. Do you realize that their were less than 3 teams finished the regular season with 7 wins, OSU, Boise St, and Wisconsin? Finishing 7-0 is an incredible task for VERY good teams. The National champs won 6 in a row after the reg. season. It is very unlikely and probably a 50-1 shot at best. The same as the Raiders winning the super bowl. You are beyond hopeful and I admire your total enthusiasm. Is every team beatable. Yes. That again is very different then winning 7 in a row in all conference play and 4 on the road. Sorry, but every team in the Big XII is very beatable. I'm going to say that we win every game here on out regardless. That's just me being optomistic. I said I totally agree that they are very beatable...but winning 7 in a row to finish a season is rarely done and highly unlikely.
  3. Your right, however all of those schools are in a different state and city. Different states and cities have different rules. Hell, in Texas and Louisiana you can have an open container. That is my point. What is the statute in Lincoln/NE? Does anybody know the actual statute?

  5. One issue in that is the confidence I feel they have and we lack. I hope this game changes that. GBR!!!!!!
  6. Sound familiar???? Also, everyone FYI, don't go banging on Daniels throwing picks. Daniels 13TDs-4INTs 1 INT per 44 attempts Keller 9TDs-7INTs 1 INT per 26.5 attempts Also, FYI we each average 1.5 INTs per game on defense so there is no statistical advantage there.

  8. Absoutely!!! Especially since all the talk/expectation was to definitely win the north with hopes of actually winning the Big 12 and going to a BCS game (I pictured as a dream and slightly possible). Anything less than winning the north is a HUGE disappointment and a BIG step back considering we will have less talent/experience next year at key positions.
  9. That would be great for us b/c if that scenario played out we would be getting a better bowl selection by finishing 4th. I would like either bowl, the Holiday or Cotton. If Mizzou did win the North but non-BCS we would end up at the Alamo Bowl again...that would suck. Then again I am only speaking on this scenario. We want the BIG 12 North at the VERY least.
  10. Agreed. I would be shocked if he wasn't playing.
  11. Well, since USC, UofA, ASU, San Diego St are all in the middle of a city, and they campuses are right there next to or part of the campus the idea that NU is in the middle of town and on campus doesn't hold water and all those schools are dry. There has to be an issue. Does anyone know the real reason?
  12. The coaches I think will do a very good job of taking care of Purify. These types of massive mental devastations can have a great effect on someone emotionally and his mental health is in crisis mode right now. I strongly believe Cally is good and understanding this right now and although I think he is soft on the field, it will translate well in this situation. Purify's health is priority one for Mo.
  13. I agree with you on some level but this is their board and their rules. Subjectivity is expected and I am ok with it as long as they don't allow flaming of posters towards each other and rule only to one side. Their board, and it's an NU board so it's allowed. Post NU players if you are so bent.
  14. I agree about the points. I didn't even comment on that. I can't see them beating us by 14. I think the line is accurate. We are a touchdown underdog. I think we can win, and I think if we have any defense at all we will win. The running game will be key if there is a weather issue and WE NEED to take time off the clock.
  15. Unfortunately I am about to actual write this: I sure hope we can "pull off the upset" What has become of Husker Power? Seems pretty accurate, but I still don't like to see it.
  16. I agree that days of total domination are over but you can still be a dominating team. Losing 1-2 conference games and beating some teams by 20+ can still exist, but rolling through everyone but OU and TX by 20+ is gone for everyone. Not that the other teams are so much better but everyone at the top took a step down due to scholarship regulations. That being said, this game isn't a must win but a desperately needed win on 2 levels. First, we need to beat a team in the North that we will probably compete for the title against. A win vs. Mizzou is like 2 wins, first they have a loss and second we have the tie breaker against them. This makes the game important for those 2 things. Level #2 is that we need a quality win. Wake was a good win but not of much quality especially since an interception saved our butts (we have 2 of those this season). We haven't been playing well and we need this win because we can't afford a loss. If we lose, especially by 10+ pts then our confidence could be ruined and we might struggle through the rest of the season. I think a close loss would hurt, but not defeat us. I never heard the USC be a must win, I did hear a must not get destroyed, but it would have been a huge upset. Our only must win is when we are down to needing to win in order to still win the North. Probably around week 10 we will see our first must wins. The only must wins are playing to stay in the conference race. A loss and you are eliminated makes it a must win.
  17. Well, 3 years ago I was begging for him to be our coach. Heck, I would take Neuheisel also. Now they are hated Buffs....damn!
  18. probably just city law against drinking in public...and especially being DRUNK in public. They probably can't make a bylaw that says "no drinking in public...except on game days, that's okay." It's not enforced as long as you stay low key about it. Like in the USC game I mentioned, people were having keg parties in the parking lot and some were even charging money for it (definitely against the law....and not to mention retarded if you are a Husker fan) of course, I'm not a cop though. I just watch COPS a lot....lol Well I am not a lawyer, although I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night, and my brother is an attorney and he said that it isn't public drinking. It is similar to drinking on a state park. You can with permits. So with NU being a state run facility they can have public drinking on campus with a permit. We don't allow public drinking in AZ also. I am not asking about the parking garages, although those are totally private domains and should be allowed with a permit, but the school should be allowed to have drinking on game days based on state permits. Are you allowed to have parties on state or city land and have alcohol with a permit? This is a state land issue not city usually anyway for the campus and the garages are city issues....usually.
  19. Umm, you are wrong about the recruits. This is year 4 which means everyone but redshirt seniors are his. And that is the vast majority of the team. I am not sure you totally understand the recruiting aspect. By year 3 at least half the players should be yours, by year 4 80-90% should be yours on the field and by year 5 100%, especially if you had crap talent when you got there. You typically give a coach 5 years to turn it around....great, look at our defensive backs and qb's for next year. Most of them will be babies and lacking experience, he should have top notch players ready to step in and I don't see them.
  20. Well you are actually right. I don't think he warrants getting fired, but he will in 2 years when they can his a$$. And then what will you say? Fired now:no Fired before the contract ends: yes Right coach:no AD fired:Please, pretty please Coz fired: this year
  21. My argument was about the Big 12 being better in 2003 vs now. The overall records may even get worse from last year at the top. And Solich had all of his own players in 2003 and we are allegedly (and I agree) more talented now then we were then. I think you are taking my topic too far. It was merely saying that our coaches have more talent then Solich did in 2003 (that's why he was fired) and they aren't able to win as well as he did. That bothers me. The cupboard isn't even close to bare right now like some claim it was in 2003. I am just making this point to all of those who argue that we had no talent with Solich and we have great recruits with Callahan...if that is true (and I think it is) then why aren't we winning more and a better team?
  22. Not too early. The draft rarely has to do with pure stats. The combine will decide everyone of these guys. Stats are if someone has some off the chart stats like Colt Brennan, etc. By the plays on the field, speed and athletic ability to can make these assessments. And I think this is about speculation anyway. I doubt anybody on this board is close enough to be able to accurately gauge this. But you want to be little someone's choices they made.... I was putting down anyone's comments. Not even close to that. I was answering merely the too early to tell part and mostly agreeing with him.
  23. Does anyone know why this law is in effect? I am from 'dry' campuses but they allowing tailgating. It has always annoyed me. My parking pass is 150 feet from the door and I have to hide my beer. Seems silly to me. Any info?
