  1. Not that I dislike Pelini (I hoped that he would be the coach when Solich was fired), but I don't exactly think he has much in the way of "Husker Family" credentials. Pellini wasn't here long but he was well liked when he was and the players really rallied around him. They felt he was part of the family. I don't think the next coaches need to be exclusivley former husker players/ coaches. But I do think "he understood" what it meant to be a Husker when he was here. He has ties to the program, the pedigree, etc. Also, I think he is a Defense minded coach so I bet he'd at least be open to the idea of working with Watson. I know a few peeps on this board hate Pellini. They even say he tried to destroy Husker nation. I've asked them to elaborate but they never do. I think Bo and many others had a right to be angry. PUD and Cally threw them out the door with Solich after 1 year here. That was unacceptable considering how well the staff did with such average talent. PUD and Cally were control freaks and I think the anger was directed towards PUD through NU not at NU directly.
  2. I understand why everyone asked me "who the hell do you think you are" and also "Cally isn't going anywhere unless the higher ups say so and the boosters push" I tried saying that I knew more than people were giving me credit for before the season started. Now we at Huskerboard can be a big happy family like the Husker Nation once again. I will be renting out a bar for the spring game to celebrate the new hiring...whoever that it. All Huskerboard is invited!!!!
  3. Now you know why I hated Callahan so much! LOL!!!!!!!!!
  4. Posted this on another thread but I am getting a fax today which confirms that PUD was being let go as of last week. I can't wait to see what is in these faxes. I will keep you posted.
  5. If Cally and Co. make a decent showing for A&M and Texas. I expect them to remain till seasons end, but don't bet on me I broke a shoe lace this morning. Rock out with your Corn Cob out! Agreed with this. I think that is why they say 2 weeks b/c they expect Cally to fail.
  6. The only confirm I have is that Cally should been gone in the next 2 weeks and Coz will be gone too. I am not sure about these 3 but I will keep you informed.
  7. Also, I am receiving a fax later today which confirms that last FRIDAY they were already replacing PUD. Perlman was accurate when he said last week the decision was already final....I can't wait to see these faxes!!!
  8. I actuallly think Dave Remington will be TO top focus to get him to take the AD job then to let him choose the coach. Have a hard time thinking Warren Buffett would open his purse strings other then giving money away to his friends charities. It shocked me too. It was something I hesitated on putting up here but I am passing on what is told to me. I have reservations on this but everything has been extremely accurate and this is the best source possible outside of Perlman himself. He is paying off the TO complex
  9. Yes. I was stupid b/c I said Cally would drive us into the ground and it was already showing. I was wrong b/c I though it was a slower process.....he even impressed me on how fast he did it.
  10. The Watson point is one that NU likes. They believe he can be even better once Cally gets out of his way. It also helps us keep recruits and not have to learn a whole new offense. But this is a bit off topic..Pelini is my point and TO is official.
  11. Because NU likes Watson and why not try to keep him. Watson will be looking for a Head job in the meantime.
  12. When you heard Pelini was in town I haven't gotten confirmation but YES they have spoken to him....maybe he was here I am not sure but they have spoken
  13. Ok, I literally pulled off the freeway to write this. My source called and said this. We all know TO is being announced todayin 8 minutes the official release will come out. The 5:15 press conference is to have him lay out his plans. He won't say this but PELINI is their main focus and they want to Keep Watson as OC. Also, Buffet DID pay off salaries and is giving $40 MIL to payoff the TO Center. Bank it!!!!
  14. FYI source also stated that if Cally does resign/fired Watson will take over and it will be his "job interview". They will also try to interview Bo after the season. Those are the only 2 names I have so far, I know they are the obvious ones but they are confirmed as on the wish list to interview.
  15. Huskerboard.com breaks the story again.....WE ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. We get blown out he is resigning...bank that.
  17. I think the idea is that the program has lost its fans. Not literally. And they lost what Husker football was all about in just 3.5 years. They need TO to come in and to bring a sense of family back. I don't think it means to bring an NU guy in for coach but they are basically trying to pull back together as a family. And after we fix this then there will be plenty of people to help us down the road. We are similar to Penn St and Fl St. We had a long tenure and so we needed to do it right the first time and we didn't. Now let's get it right and do it as a family.
  18. I think getting rid of him mid-season is better than losing every game by 30+ pts with him as coach.
  19. I hate to doubt, because most of what you said is correct. However with the temper tantrum Cook had yesterday it seems like the opposite was said. Maybe your source misunderstood and he heard Cook say money stops if changes ARE made, i dont know. As much as I like Pelini, Im find it hard to believe that Cally is gone before the season is over. Im guessing he will be around next year, but with a slightly different staff. Maybe Watson having more involvement calling plays or something. However if the job is open I think Pelini is our best choice! I clarified later yesterday and said my source stated Cook said he "would not give any money to NU" I assumed he meant if changes weren't made, not if they were. I didn't take Cook for a moron! It was my mistake but the source was accurate.
  20. We got that yesterday also, but this came in last night. Yesterday we knew he was offered the job and now we have details of the negotiation. This is merely an update and this part of it is new. TO is now officially negotiating based on Remington and that he did 'officially' say yes based on these terms. I am just trying to update each new step.
  21. No Husker gear was the first thing I noticed as he walked up. That was a statement to me. I haven't seen all of his press conferences but what head coach doesn't at least wear a team polo shirt or something. Adidas would not like that.
  22. Told it would happen "shortly". TO spoke to them yesterday about it. My guess is we would hear something in the next 48-72 hrs but it's just my guess.
  23. He doesn't tell players to ignore the Internet and media outlets....Moron. Living in a bubble is the best idea. Of course you will have some exposure, but you should at least tell them to avoid it.
  24. He said yes but the conditions are getting sorted out. Let's not assume it's a done deal until the ink dries....don't jinx and don't complain or doubt. This is an interim and WE CAN'T GET ANY WORSE!
