  1. We need to score right away. Oh for a run by Ameer! That would be so sweet! COME ON HUSKERS!!!
  2. I read in the paper this morning that many Alumni Association members are handing out blue lapel pins to fans who want to wear them at State College today. That's nice. An unobtrusive way to support PSU. Enjoy the game everyone!
  3. Which "PSU folks" need money for what and who or what will benefit? Any left over tithing money or windfalls I have usually go to the homeless shelter here in town. I know that money is put to good use. Great! Glad you are doing that. If you're really interested in learning where the funds the students are collecting go to visit- http://www.preventchildabusepa.org/ Just an aside: I work with children everyday Bowfin. If sending money to the folks at PSU will in any way effect a child's future, or help in their healing, then I'm there. This is a personal conviction of mine. My husband and I support one of the homeless shelters here in Omaha as well. I'm glad we're on the same team in wanting to help children any way we can. GO BIG RED!
  4. Ahhhhhh! GAME DAY!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! (Throwing confetti here!) Thanks Knappic! That gave me goosebumps! I really needed that! GO B1G RED!!!!
  5. I kinda like that too-Muddy Mo Matchup-catchy
  6. T_O_Bull: Thank you for serving our country. From what I've heard from people who are already in State College (and are wearing red) the Penn State fans have been welcoming them so I wouldn't be too concerned. I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal come game time. Hopefully, we'll just get to see a really good game between two legendary football teams. Enjoy yourself! GO BIG RED!
  7. I LOVE IT! I never heard ISU vs KSU use it. I just think it's funny. It's better than the Corn Bowl or whatever. Now THAT is stupid.
  8. We will-Farmageddon! (I know, I know, lots of people hate that term but I LOVE IT!! I still remember when we first joined the B1G someone posted a picture of a farmer in his field with a nuclear bomb blowing up in the background and the word FARMAGEDDON written on it! I love it then and still do!) Huskers will win this one because Iowa stinks on the road! GO B1G RED!!!
  9. Reports from fans who have already arrived in State College have said that the Penn State fans have been very welcoming. I'm with Knappic, I hope that tomorrow will be a nice, autumn day and that the teams will play good old 'smashmouth' football. GO BIG RED!!!
  10. Excellent! Find an organization that has something to do with kids and volunteer. I do that already. But I found out that the PSU folks are asking for funds if you want to support the victims of this tragedy. (I posted it under another thread.) Think I'll send them a check...Join me? First of all, I'm not trying to be an ass. But why do people always want to raise money for victims of a crime. I could see if they had lost their house, car or any other personal things due to a crime and were not able to get things replaced. This is a very horrible thing that has happened and I feel for the victims, but I do not see what money will do for them. Is it for legal council? I am just wanting to know. Good questions Many charitable organizations spend their money to raise awareness, educate the community, provide funds for research, and part of the money is spent on fund raising so that they can keep their organization going. My daughter worked for a non-profit in Colorado called 'Invest in Kids'. Their organization provided well baby care for mothers who lived below the poverty line and provided funds for a program called 'Parents as Teachers'. I suspect that the non-profits that have as their mission to stop child abuse spend money on programs to educate young parents (parenting classes), provide funds for medical care/psychiatric care for those individuals who cannot afford these services on their own, protection from the abuser. Some of these folks have to move out of their homes and go to 'safe houses' so that they will be safe from those who abuse them. Things like this. I suspect that attorney fees in a lot of places are waved. Good questions.
  11. I read on the 'Tidbits from the Big Red Breakfast' that they DO plan to use more rotation in this game. That seems to work really well. I agree that our offense just doesn't have the option down to the point where it's effective.
  12. So what kind of offensive scheme would you use against that type of defense? More misdirection? Zone read? More short pass play?
  13. GO BIG RED!! I too hope for a great win against PSU! Thank you to all who have given their lives for our freedom. Thanks to those who are currently serving as well.
  14. "Is that the best you can do?" (line from a Harry Potter movie) Would the option be more effective or should we try more misdirection (That might be a better plan since our O-line is so weak.)
  15. I found this a very interesting perspective. I don't know how I feel about it yet, though. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2011/11/11/penn-state-should-cancel-season-fire-staff/BCmT5KkYTmDznWHWXris5H/story.html
