  1. WVU is Rodriguez's alma mater. No way he leaves his alma mater to coach somewhere else. For most any coach being able to coach at your alma mater is a dream come true.
  2. Who cares what he meant by it. I think he already know's in his mind that even if he thought for a min that Billy C was a good coach, that Husker Nation would revolt along w/the boosters if that clown was kept on for another year. 1 slip up up by the great TO and the media is all over it. Sheesh cut the man a break. I trust that he won't "officially" make an announement until after the season. However "unofficially" Billy C is through. And the Saturday after Thanksgiving can't get here fast enough.
  3. Are we playing KU in basketball this week?
  4. Probably to change the offense to something more competitive at the college level. Which enables any QB a better opportunity to make plays and keep's defenses guessing while stretching the field. This is another hint he's going to fire Billy C. Billy C. even admitted when he was hired he only knows the WCO. He won't even consider running a different O.
  5. NO!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, in the small chance BC would stay, He would have to fire the defensive staff. There is NO excuse for being DEAD LAST in rush defense. It is unacceptable and should not be tolerated. Cally is partially to blame for the defense (or lack there of). He needs to go....... Billy C can't be trusted to hire another Defensive staff. He'd probably re-hire Coz shortly after firing him. He has to go. No other choice but to let him go.

He know's he only has 3 games left. There's no way he believe's he's coming back next year. So why wold he care? Other than to try and improve his chances on his fast fading coaching career.
  7. You have to half not participated in less than 33% of yout team's games due to injury. I believe that is correct. Equals out to about 2-3 games. This sucks for both of them. Keller will do well in the combines and the draft. Get ready to see the 1st Nebraska QB drafted in over 30 years. Brandburgh is a heck of a blow to. Good luck to you Lance in the future as well.
  8. Billy C won't fire his best friend. They started this mess together, they are going to finish it unfortunately.
  9. That's what happens when your name is 'Pig'. Just kidding
  10. Better yet...if we kickoff first, we should do an onside kick. They'd never see that coming and would be running backwards w/no chance of recovering the kick. Especially if our kicker lined up normally on the KO.

That's true. However since Billy C knows he's gone at year's end, he may just to spite us pull 1 of their RS.

You pull Witt's. That way next year both Witt and Lee would each have 3 year's remaining. Davis would just repeat his debacle at TT in 2004.
  13. Ganz will rip them to shreds. KU has no film on Ganz. How do you prepare for someone you haven't seen play. The Jayhawks will get rocked and chocked!
  14. I'm sure he didn't mean to let the cat out of the bag. However we all know Billy C is gone at the end of the year anyway. TO's slip just confrims Husker Nation's thought's.
  15. He probably said that he's still doing excellent work in all area's and that it's to complicated for us to understand. So it's probably not worth watching anyway.
  16. Trick plays don't necessarily tell a player that they can't hang with or beat a team straight up. Trick plays are designed to catch a team off guard and make them 'think' rather than 'react'. If anyone watched FSU in the 80's & 90's and they played a tough opponent in the regular season or bowl game, Bowden would pull a few trick plays out of his hat. They would almost always end up demoralizing their opponent. Since the opposing defense would be in thinking mode as opposed to react mode.
  17. Well considering he has killed almost all Husker tradition.... Besides it was a joke.
  18. You should order 1 and have it sent to his office. Put a note on it that the person delivering it has to watch him open the package and put on the shirt.
  19. Ah, it's probably a good thing it couldn't be found. It would probably be more coach speak on Billy C's part. Maybe if we call him Billy C he'll get pissed and leave b4 the end on the year. Joe D called him that and ended up being demoted to 4th string.
  20. Frank was slipping to mediocrity. Bill has slipped to hilarity. He has completely lost it. Man, I hate to say it...but was 2003's season really mediocre? If you remember, after the 2002 season, it was alleged that Stevie Pedey gave Frank Solich an ultimatum. This ultimatum was "make SIGNIFICANT changes, or else." We brought in Pelini. We made significant strides...especially defensively. I don't know if the option offense would've continued to be the NU offense/solution. All I can say is this: going from 7-7 (2002) to 10-3 (2003) is a SIGNIFICANT improvement to me. Frank Solich should have been allowed, at least, one more year. Our program slipped into "mediocrity" for ONE year (2002). I hate hearing that argument. Since Solich, we've been mediocre 3 out of 4 years under Callahan. Perhaps too many people are using Pederson's definition of mediocrity? I hate to quote Mark May but this is ridiculous -- "I hardly see 9-3 as mediocre." Here's Ivan Maisel's take on it: When the decision is made to change coaches, usually the reason behind it is painfully obvious (John Mackovic) or blatantly wrongheaded (Tommy Tuberville). But neither describes the decision by Nebraska athletic director Steve Pederson on Saturday night to fire Frank Solich. After going 7-7 in 2002, Solich came under pressure to revamp his staff and he did so. The Huskers finished the regular season 9-3, a significant improvement. If my math is right, that's much better than 7-7. Pederson disagreed, and in a short meeting Saturday night, told Solich that after 25 seasons on the Nebraska staff, he was done. Pederson may believe that the Huskers' inability to compete with Texas (31-7) and Kansas State (38-9) in the second half of the season indicate a drop in talent that Solich oversaw and can't rectify. But the athletic director's cure may be worse than the illness. If Pederson decides to hire a Walt Harris from Pittsburgh, for instance, he will be asking a passing coach to take over an offense built for the run. If you want to see what can happen in that circumstance, go watch a couple of Notre Dame game tapes. By firing Solich, Pederson must hope that he will accelerate Nebraska's ability to return to the place it held among the college football elite for more than three decades. But change doesn't promise improvement. It just promises change. -- Ivan Maisel, ESPN.com Because we got killed in those 3 losses. We were the worst 3 loss team that year.
  21. Exactly. Elmo goes b4 Wyatt does. Wyatt is a good DL coach and a great recruiter. Give him time and he'll have the best DL in the country, next year.
  22. Hey folks...TO won't fire this crew b4 the end of the season. However that doesn't mean Billy C and a few other's won't voluntarily offer up their resignations though. There is a high probabilty of the latter happening next week if we get whipped by KU instead of this week. With every loss BC's ability to become gainfully employed in coaching dwindle's. I think he jumps ship next week or the week after if we keep losing in order to save what's left of his coaching career.
  23. Desperate times call for desperate measure. I guess when your job is on the line and you realize that your coaching career is fizzling you try something different to see if you can find a way to win.
