  1. Not as shameful as how he's been treated for 5 weeks. THAT'S SHAMEFUL! Or the way he coached for 5 weeks. That is shameful!
  2. I did! I sit in the northwest corner. He was off the field immediately following his "meeting" with Prince at the center of the field. The rest of the coaches and the players went over to sing the fight song with the band and the student section. Not really sure what he was thinking, but I certainly think it was just one more poor decision by him. He doesn't have much time left to make that many more poor dicisions. I am just really happy for the players to have gotten this win, especially the seniors.
  3. Just a question for you Dave H. Who are the "greatest" fans in college football? Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, etc? Who is it? The overwhelming consensus nationwide is that NEBRASKA fans are. That is based on much more than just our history this year. I don't know of any state or fan base that is as knowledgable as ours. I don't know of any other team that stands and claps for the opponent, Win or lose. There is NO place like Nebraska... when it comes to the GREATEST fans in the country!
  4. Stoops didn't get that memo. ...or the Urbanites in Gatorville (although, to be fair, he did it with the Zookers recruits - Stoops really did it more from scratch) Stopps did it from scratch? NO he didn't! He had all of John Blake's players.
  5. fixed Thank you... I went back and edited it!
  6. GREAT GAME JOE GANZ!! Here are his stats the LAST two games. Att......Comp......Yards......TD......INT 50.......25..........405.........4........4 40.......30..........510.........7........0 WOW!!! 915 yards in 2 games. He certainly should be player of the week, not just in the Big 12 but in the Nation!
  7. Agree Zac had a better run, but he didn't have the hype going into it. Keller is a name that everyone knows. Not everyone knew Zac's name even when he was finished playing!
  8. Have you been talking to Colorado fans again? Now that truely is hilarious!
  9. Just what I was thinking. They were awesome!
  10. It's not his fault??? WTF? Is that him or not? It's him, he is saying it, that means its his fault. I like Matt, but this will be a black eye for him.
  11. Found in the OWH. Nice article... refreshing to know that young men still choose this University because it's NEBRASKA and not just for a coach. And imagine that he thinks its a "calling" to be a black shirt. Hope things work out for this young man. Published Wednesday | November 7, 2007 Mitch Sherman: Likely shakeup doesn't faze Kuli BY MITCH SHERMAN WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER LINCOLN - Simi Kuli may or may not be the best junior college defensive end in the nation. We've already been burned plenty by these recruiting rankings. Kuli, for what it's worth, is a five-star recruit - a premier talent. He's also the latest player to join the Huskers' class of 2008 and the only prospect to jump on board after the NU losing streak extended past one game. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Kuli, a sophomore at El Camino (Calif.) College, committed two weeks ago after visiting NU for the Oct. 20 Texas A&M game. "Everyone in the country is shocked he's doing this," El Camino defensive line coach Tim Hyde said. "Everyone thinks he's going to decommit. It's just not going to happen." Kuli knows what's about to happen to the coaching staff at Nebraska. And it doesn't bother him. That's rare. As this NU class, once 25 players strong, shrinks before his eyes, Kuli remains strong in his pledge. Kuli made his commitment to Athletic Director Tom Osborne more so than he did to Bill Callahan. According to Kuli, Osborne told him that "there were going to be some changes in the coaching staff." Exactly what Osborne meant or if it was even phrased that way, who knows? Asked to clarify the athletic director's words, Kuli stepped back a bit. He said he knew nothing for certain about Callahan's future. Still, all believe that the end is near. Callahan's recruits know it, too, which is why running back Jonas Gray, quarterback Blaine Gabbert, wide receiver D.J. Woods and defensive tackle Darius Parish have jumped overboard. But Kuli sees this situation as something other than a sinking ship. "Tom Osborne knows the game front to back with his eyes closed," Kuli said. "Whoever he hires as a coach, it's not going to be an ordinary coach. It's going to be a coach who can get the job done." Some of that faith in Osborne comes from El Camino coach John Featherstone, who worked with the former NU coach some 15 years ago at a clinic in Palm Springs, Calif. After the clinic, Featherstone shared a meal with Osborne. "He's like a God in the football community," Featherstone said. Kuli graduated from Los Angeles' Hawthorne High School in 2005 but sat out of college that fall, thinking that he would embark on a Mormon mission. Then only days before practice began in 2006, Kuli showed up at El Camino wearing construction boots. He made 56 tackles last fall with 4½ sacks. Through seven games this year, he has seven sacks. "It's amazing how far he's come," Hyde said. Initial contact with the Huskers came last spring after Hyde informed an old friend, Nebraska graduate assistant Jon Osterhout, of Kuli. Defensive line coach Buddy Wyatt soon started recruiting Kuli. Osborne closed the deal. "Simi likes the fact that he was able to shake the hand of the guy who has the statue outside the stadium," Hyde said. As for the coach whose advice Kuli relied on most? That was Oklahoma assistant Kevin Wilson, who told Kuli to pick a school at which he could envision himself in the long term. After visiting LSU and then Lincoln, Kuli needed to see no more. He canceled trips to OU and Tennessee. Probably not the outcome Wilson envisioned. "As soon as that airplane landed, I felt at home at Nebraska," Kuli said. "I don't know what it is, for some reason, Nebraska's always been inside of me when it came to choosing a school. When I thought about it, I knew deep down, I always wanted to be a Blackshirt. It was a calling."
  12. bit west coast, bit spread, bit option, just a mix really, and they get good production(also he's done a great job changing players to different positions(their starting tail back might be sunday bound and he was a db before gill got there, their best d line man was on the offense at tight end i believe and he has something like 10 or 11 sacks if i remember right)) Would be a great choice for our new HC!
  13. I think the new AD will be "hand picked" also and will have bought into the new coach. Don't worry about that!
  14. I like Bo as HC and Gill as OC. Is Mike Stoops going to be available as DC? If not why not go after Muschamp. Hate to point this out but where they tought me to count that is only 5 names, not six!
  15. He also just said that it was great to get the field going into halftime and to make it a close, tight game once again. (We were down 48 to 24 at that time). Good job Bill... way to keep it close! By the way Bill thats not close, in fact it is double what you had. Do you need to go to math class with your players? And a close game at half would be fine if you had ever won a game when losing at half time!
  16. He just said their 43yrd post play to our 1 or 2 yrd line is just to quick of a play to cover. Can't cover those plays because they happen to quickly. Also says that they all look really big and fast... its hard to cover guys like that. The defense did as good as anybody could against that kind of talent. FIRE HIS A** NOW!!!
  17. Pathetic? That is what my opinion of your rant is! Never forget that this a "GAME" and it's still "KIDS" playing it! Rant about coaches all you want, but please leave the kids out of this mess!
  18. I saw the video on channel 1 (Cox) during the repeat channel 6 news. They knew he was there.. the video shows him talking as he heads directly to them. They in turn ignore him and turn towards the left. The camera abgle changes and the man in the background gives TO the "surprised" look as he continues trying to talk and they continue to walk away. Fire these two :asshat NOW!
  19. I think TO should wear one to the press conference when he announces the firing of Callahan and Cosgrove!
  20. You know who is at fault here? The guy who made BC a head coach in the first place. Al "just win baby" Davis. If his dumb a$$ wouldn't have put BC (who obviously didn't deserve it) in charge of a then top flight NFL team (which BC ran into the ground), we (SP) would never have thought of making him head coach at NU. Yeah... but we probably would have had Houston Nutt then. Although I really doubt he could be as bad as what we ended up with. PLEASE FIRE CALLAHAN AND SOGROVE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Very true. It wasn't Pelini's defense that gave up the ball to Alabama. See the 4th quarter like captain obvious says. Especially the last few minutes. That is a nasty, hungry, motivated defense. I'll be glad to have "that" DC here with his system!
  22. If you ask me this guy stunk and a lot of people only think he was good because of the time in history he was calling games. He should never be allowed to call games again because he thought he was "A Big Deal" and wanted crap-loads of money, so unless he has been humbled he can eat a fat one. FYI if you would like to see him in action turn to public access and watch him host the Metro Community College show, it is awesome. Just let Davison and Adrian do the games. Pavelka sucked something awful. I have no problem with Jim Rose, at least he can describe the action. Like the thread belows shows, it is a dead on assesment of one of Rose's calls... Rose sucks... he needs to not come back. First choice would be Kevin Kugler. Second would be Pavelka.
  23. Why did this staff abandon the running game when they went ahead by 7? Wait, never mind I know why... don't want to do anything that is actually working. That way we can have three straight incompletions and go down by 14 points. Thanks, ball game over folks!!
