  1. A college buddy of mine is the head basketball coach at his high school. I'm trying to see if I can get any inside info about his decision. Will keep you updated. which highschool? is he out in dub hillard or ike hillard? No Desales, near where Northland used to be if you're familiar with Columbus. (At least that's what the profile says.) Got a reply back and he said that Kenny used to be on the bball team but gave it up for football and he still talks to him. Sounds like Toledo is on the top of his list. He'll let me know when he makes a decision.

  3. I'd be happy with 8-4. This season showed that there can be an upset on any given Saturday so I think the Huskers have a reasonable chance at 8-4 even with a good percentage of the teams on our schedule being projected as being in the 2008 top 25.
  4. Spoke to Shawn Watson ... Posted by Gentry Estes January 21, 2008 10:02 AM Categories: Football Watson: The next candidate? At this point, Nebraska offensive coordinator Shawn Watson can be considered at least a speculative candidate in Alabama head coach Nick Saban's search to replace Major Applewhite on his coaching staff. Watson didn't have much to say about it when reached by the Press-Register this morning, but he didn't deny his interest, saying, "I can't make any comments on that right now. I just can't do that right now." He was visiting a recruit when contacted. Asked if there were plans for him to interview in Tuscaloosa this week, Watson replied, "No, nothing like that's been talked about." So ... Watson seems to be interested, but he also doesn't seem to be very far along in the process. New Nebraska coach Bo Pelini was not aware that Watson had spoken with anyone at Alabama as of last night. Would he leave Nebraska for Alabama? Huskers insiders say legendary AD Tom Osborne fought to keep Watson on Pelini's first coaching staff, as Watson was one of only two assistants retained last month. He also has seven years coordinator experience in the Big 12 Conference, serving first at Colorado before heading to Nebraska. But there is a money aspect to this. Watson's salary didn't increase after staying with Nebraska though a head coaching change. He's making $225,000, less than five Crimson Tide assistants made this past season. From day one of Saban's tenure, cash hasn't seemed to be a problem for Alabama football, which boasts the highest-paid coaching staff in the SEC.
  5. I know. I heard the same think but found this.
  6. Neuheisel' former teammate a great fit for UCLA staff Associated Press Updated: January 21, 2008, 8:12AM ET PASADENA, CA. -- UCLA Bruins coach Rick Neueisel says former college teammate Shawn Watson would be a great fit as offensive coordinator. Watson, who played at UCLA with Neuheisel in the early 1980s, will be interview with UCLA on Tuesday. "He brings with him expertise in both coaching and recruiting and we feel are significant contributions that he can make to our program," Neuheisel said. "Shawn knows the Pac 10 and the defenses in that league," he said. "I feel like Shawn could make a huge impact for our program." Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press
  7. (LJS) Did some checking around Wednesday. Based on several interviews, my guess at this point (semi-educated) is we won't see Bill Callahan working as an offensive coordinator in the NFL next season. This surprises me, to a degree, although the competition for such positions is heated. One NFL source says he hasn't heard Callahan come up as a legitimate candidate for any coordinator positions. Of course, that could change. I think we'll see Callahan working as an NFL assistant, perhaps as the Jets' offensive line coach. He reportedly has interviewed for that position. I think he'd make a good offensive coordinator. Also, Nebraska on Monday will begin its winter conditioning program under new strength coach James Dobson.
  8. That's why his nickname is "Rock Hands" Hardy
  9. I don't know where you read that but I found something different. "Nebraska fans may be able to breathe a sigh of relief with a recent report that elite junior college defensive end Simi Kuli likely will remain a solid commitment." Sporting News
  10. Lawrence Phillips will be number 1! Oh wait, this isn't the most wanted list.
  11. I don't believe ESPN for a minute! How often are they correct? When they do get something right it usually comes from a local source anyway!
  12. Shut up and keep your crap off the board :asshat
  13. If he did'nt want the job T.O. would never have interviewed him, since the only ones T.O. interviewing, are the coaches that the search firm sent feeler out to see if they were interested said yes. Sounds like Grobe is just window shopping.
  14. If this is your first post, then how are you familiar with IBR? I smell a conspiracy
  15. The Fort Worth-Star Telegram asked TCU coach Gary Patterson on Tuesday if Nebraska had talked with him. No, was the answer. Right now, it appears that neither Patterson nor Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly have interviewed for the Husker football job.
  16. I work for a search firm myself and I can say that any employer who hires a headhunter to do a search, regardless of the position, wants them to open the lines of communication. It's a way to go around the "rules" of contacting currently employed candidates.
  17. If ANYONE in college football hires BC, lets schedule them!!
  18. From LJS: Nebraska junior I-back Marlon Lucky and senior offensive tackle Carl Nicks have been selected as second-team All-Big 12 selections, the conference office announced on Tuesday. The selections were made by the conference’s 12 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players. Ten Huskers were selected to the honorable-mention list—four on offense -- four on defense and two on special teams. Offensive players are senior center Brett Byford, junior tackle Lydon Murtha, sophomore guard Jacob Hickman and senior receiver Maurice Purify. Defensive players are junior defensive end Zach Potter, senior linebackers Bo Ruud and Steve Octavien and sophomore safety Larry Asante. Special teams players are senior kickoff/punt returner Cortney Grixby and junior punter Dan Titchener.
