  1. The replay on espn3 should unlock (if that's the word for it) at some point I believe.
  2. With Sparty and Mizzou's losses, I don't see how we move up more than two spots unless we leapfrog idle LSU into 11th. The other teams ranked immediately ahead of us (tOSU and Stanford) pasted their opponents today. edit: I guess Wisconsin had the day off, too, so 10 is maybe possible...
  3. I counted 8 (or was it 9?) 50+ yard touchdown runs at the beginning of that video... in five games. His top speed looks good, not amazing, but his acceleration, agility, and elusiveness all look off the charts. He is going to be lethal in space. Can he catch the ball?
  4. I actually think Beebe might have just done us a favor. You think this won't have the players and coaches breathing a little extra fire this weekend?
  5. Hope everyone is stocked up on troll repellent. It could get ugly this week. On the other hand, bring on Tuff Tiger!
  6. Even if we win today, I'll still be rooting for OU, because you never know what could happen. There aren't any guaranteed victories, and sometimes things like the Iowa St. game happen. An OU win does nothing but help our chances of winning the north, regardless of what happens in Stillwater today.
  7. We will only play OU if they win the south AND we win the north. An OU win improves the chances that both of those conditions are met.
  8. Well, then say they're on pace to break it through the same number of games. Regardless, it's impressive.
  9. The offense still has to substitute and properly execute at that speed. It's not unstoppable; have your defense prepared to recognize formations and cover their gaps and play up tempo. If it forces a defense to play focused, disciplined football, what's so bad about that? Calling an extreme hurry up offense unfair is like calling the spread offense unfair or the forward pass unfair. Just because it is unique or innovative at the time doesn't mean it's ruining football. Personally, that's one of the biggest reasons I love football... the amount of room there is for creative thinking and strategy.
  10. Why not? It is very difficult to properly execute on offense at that sort of lightning speed. It's not like there's anything cheap about it. You're seeing the fruits of a lot of practice, focus, discipline, and excellent coaching. I wish Nebraska's offense looked that scary.
  11. Scary, scary, scary offense.
  12. What do you expect him to say? Those are his teammates.
  13. Taylor made some really bad reads, but that was only part of the problem. Even when he made the right read, we couldn't get anything going because the Texas LBs and safeties were coming down to the line hard to stop the run. Lee made the right reads, and I'd have to go back and rewatch the game, but it seemed to me that the defense backed off a little when he came in because they were more concerned with his arm than his legs. What we really needed to do was play action them to death until they respected Taylor's arm, though obviously the drops killed that, too. They said Taylor was getting frustrated, well... understandably so, but I still don't think it was at all necessary to pull him.
  14. Dude... triplets? We just had our first (a boy) two months ago, and I can't imagine raising three infants simultaneously. How do you get anything else done? Kudos to you and your wife.
  15. Or it could just be that they realized they overreacted. Or, halfway through the season, they don't want their insanely talented freshman QB out on the field worrying that one or two mistakes is going to get him benched.
  16. The positive is that we all know the team is way better than they played today. Of course, that's also the big negative in a way. I'm still trying to decide what was the most frustating thing to watch: the dropped passes, the missed tackles, Taylor's abysmal reads in the running game (knowing the damage he can do when he makes the right read), or the 94 yards in penalties. These guys underachieved and shot themselves in the foot over and over again today, and still only lost by a touchdown. The talent is there; just need to eliminate the sloppy, inconsistent play.
  17. What I learned is that I might want to reconsider my customary abstention from alcohol.
  18. Niles Paul always finds a way to come up short in big games. Three dropped passes that he's supposed to catch today... all three would have extended drives, at least one of them could have been a TD or close to it.
  19. I was very confident all week that we would handle Texas today, but then I had a dream last night that Texas won this game by 4 touchdowns. Maybe I can dream about winning the lottery tonight.
