  1. Official today... Rod took the Michigan job, commitment hasn't changed yet... will keep watching.
  2. The word is that he's having a hard time qualifying academically again. I think this one is a scratch.

  4. Michael Jackson?? Are you 10? Maybe you can visit Neveraland ranch too haha
  5. From what I've been hearing and reading from various sources he may be leaning to Texas. His friend from high school (Brewster) is a solid recruit there. This may change if he likes what he hears from the staff here, or if Brewster has second thoughts and plays for his dad at Minnesota. I know he has a visit to Colorado, but from what I've read earlier, he would rather go out of the state. That could change though. Chance of getting him probably 40%.
  6. Mohler is gone to Colorado Rippy says he is a solid commit on Dec 11 interview on 1620 on the day after he met with Coach Pelini. But I will say this, any of the recruits that were directly recruited by Callahan or Cozgrove probably will move on to other schools. Reasoning you ask? All end roads with most of those recruits were probably lost after the firings. It's a little tough to start from scratch when they had other offers on the table. They'll take the sure thing instead of gambling on a new staff.
  7. Nicely done. Congrats to Doc Sadler and the boys. Big WIN!!!
  8. http://www.1620thezone.com/episode_downloa...ntentId=1182657 Bill lets NU fans know what he will change, when he gets a second chance.
  9. Or maybe "Go Fish"....no wait....the cards have numbers on them....nevermind.
  10. Marcus Allen- RB USC Keyshawn Johnson- WR USC Terrell Suggs - DE ASU Billy Simms - RB OU
  11. As Larry Holmes used to say......You all get just kiss my big ##### ##! hehehehehe! Do you not get enough attention at the "home"??!! Sounds like Oldman confused Preparation H with Ben-Gay this morning. I bet that stings a little.
  12. Here's his 12/11 interview on 1620's Unsportsmanlike Conduct about meeting with Coach Pelini. http://1620thezone.com/episode_download.ph...ntentId=1167033 The interview starts at 1:45.
  13. http://1620thezone.com/episode_download.ph...ntentId=1167267 Four former Husker I-Back greats: I.M. Hipp (77'-79'), Keith "End Zone" Jones (84'-87'), Damon Benning (93'-96'), and Corey Ross (02'-05'), make up a discussion round table interview. They discuss tradition, leadership, and what it's like to carry the banner for former Husker players that came before them. This is why we need former players talking to current players, instead of shutting them out. It's too bad, maybe Purify and Mc Keon would have understood the privilege starting at Nebraska was, instead of it being about them. This isn't a knock on either one of them, because the former "Higher Ups" thought it necessary to erase all that came before them. This is a really good interview.
  14. I don't think he's ready yet, but I voted that he will go.(see huskerguy comment) The only thing that matters in the NFL is yards-after-contact (YAC) for running backs. As we have seen this year , he was consistently brought down after the first hit or shoe stringed many times. Also to be a RB in the pros you need to have "hole presence", which we know he has missed many openings this season. I suspect, as with Brandon Jackson, he will have to be retaught many things to compete at that level. So if he goes, it will be late first day or second day in the draft. Right now he may be a 3rd down back, #4 receiver, or a kickoff returner, but that is a long shot.
  15. Being from up around the West Point area, I've seen this kid play. He plays both sides of the ball and on special teams. This kid was double and triple teamed in the two games I watched him play. He's a very smart player, who seems to know where the ball is, and has a knack for being in the right places to make plays. For his size he's a tough SOB. Played DE, OLB, and TE. He primarily plays DE. Here's some of his numbers for his Senior year: 125 Tackles, 38 solo, 3 sacks, 2 fumble rec., 1 INT, 4 blocked punts. Not bad numbers if he was getting double and triple teamed by most of the teams in their conference. I don't recall many DE's with those types of numbers in C2. I don't see any reason why he wasn't selected first or second team for C2 except for maybe some politics being played by coaches to get their players on. JMO but it does happen.
  16. Here's a color picture of a couple replica Husker helmets from ('49-52')
  17. It doesn't surprise me that TO would give Coach Pelini his blessing to coach in the NC game. I know it's been 10 years, but I think many of us have forgotten that commitment, hard work, finishing the job, and loyalty, are traits that then Coach Osborne instilled in all of his players and assistant coaches. I would not expect anything less from someone that TO hired for the HC position. Put yourself in LSU fan's shoes. During our run from (94'-97'), if another college's AD met with Coaches Gill or Mc Bride before one of our NC games, and they accepted a job with that school, we as NU fans would be pissed to a near riot against that school. The boards would be filled with "How Dare They" topics and such. In a sense, we're dumping our problems on LSU during their run, and it's not fair for them, but that's the nature of the business of college football today. Coach Pelini could have waited till after the bowl game to take the reigns here, but he knew that he needed to get his staff in place immediately to keep the recruits that Callahan and Co. had been neglecting since the firing of Pedersen, and the rumblings of a coaching change here. Almost all but one coaching staff position has been filled as of today, the recruits are getting visited, plus one 6' 6" TE Ben Cotton who was set to commit to Louisville, decided to commit to NU after his dad Barney, received the OL Coach's job. Looks to me like the job is getting done here, so what's the problem with Coach Pelini finishing the job he started down there? Some here are so concerned what the players here will think if he's at LSU coaching his final game there. Frankly I don't care. They are adults, and if they are so fragile that they can't handle this, then maybe they should consider a transfer. For the ones that can handle it, maybe they'll watch and learn how the game is supposed to be played. When spring practices start we are going to find out how fragile these players are when they meet the likes of Brown, Cotton, and Pelini. Take a look at all the coaching positions that are being filled. Most all of the position coaches are intensely physical coaches. We wanted smash-mouth knock-your-teeth-down-your-throat-and-send-you-crying-to-your-momma football, well we have it here with this group. The National Championship game will be the only game on TV that night. With that being said, the network will hype this to the Nth degree to create drama, because it's all about the ratings. Maybe we will finally get some good coverage for NU for a change, instead of being ridiculed for getting rung up like a pinball machine. They will bring up the last game for Pelini at LSU probably more times that we can count that night. If the D plays well, how can that not help in future recruiting? Even though Coach Pelini wasn't my first choice for coach, but he was selected, and I'm behind him 100%. So let's not be selfish, and let Coach have his time in the spotlight. It doesn't happen to many coaches in a lifetime, except for a few of the greats. So let's support him. If you ask anyone who has coached or played in the NC game, they can't explain it, but all they want to do is get back there and play for another one. So I have a feeling Coach Bo will want to get back to the National Championship game, come hell or high water real soon. GBR
  18. What did Tom do? He blew Callahan and Coz's rearends right out of town. I believe Tom said not many losing seasons will be tolerated around here, especially 2 in 4 years. I sure hope that we NU fans react better with the new coaches and treat them better than we did the last coaches. Finally, someone who speaks without the blinders on. But if it makes you "True Husker Fans" feel better. On behalf of Husker Nation I'll make TLS2 BossI'll make robsker Sheriff and I'll make HuskerNCoand FriscoTXHuskeryour Deputies. That way if you see people being "Bad Husker Fans" you can "Cuff em' and Stuff em'." This thread is deteriorating into one of those "I'm a better Husker fan than you are" threads. Move on already. It's a new day, and the old regime is gone. Get over it.
  19. Next time you see or talk to your brother-in-law tell him Thanks and God Bless from this Husker fan. Hope he's home with his family real soon. He's a Yankee, a Syracuse fan but anyhow I will tell him. Doesn't matter which team he likes. When you carry the red, white, and blue banner on your arm, that's the team we can all pull for.
  20. That's what that was. I just thought he had an "accident" after he did everything right, and had another 70 rung up on him. I don't think we'll need that back. He can keep it as a souvenir for a job not done.
