  1. Not a top 15 performance. ...... More evidence that for the most part, rankings are irrelevant. But upsets happen every week that prove that, still people don't understand.
  2. MR been going for it on 4th a lot this year. It's worked out the majority of the time, but kind of surprising.
  3. "We decided that was absolutely worth reviewing, therefore we're not going to charge illinois with a timeout"... In other news, TD huskers!
  4. Regardless of what happens here, I think I can't be upset about it.
  5. I don't think you can be ejected for horse collar.I could be wrong, but I've never seen it.
  6. Did the Illinois guy single for the flag? I think he might have been confused.
  7. Actually I think he got away with a targeting call on that one.
  8. Holy sh#t that looked like it caused a concussion.
  9. Pretty sure the entire pile was getting pushed. Not just Tommy.
  10. Does everyone else butthole clinch a bit whenever we throw over the middle?
  11. I do not like this throwing on first down business.
  12. Would not change a thing for me. You'd still feel exactly the same if it was another 5-7 season? Sure.... I +1'd this instead of hitting the reply (toooooo early here). So don't think someone agreed with you on this. Indeed that's the case - doubt me all you want. If you knew me personally you'd know I'd been saying this for a year. If we don't have reputable people leading the team we'll never get recruits, never maximize the talent, never win. We would have continued to spiral. So (I think) we'll continue to improve this year and in the years moving forward. If not I will still support him whole heartedly because he is the face of the program and he's a great one. Without that we are nothing. I'd rather lose (yes) and have the interview with my coach (for the university and the state I love) at halftime be a respectful, cordial, insightful, professional one than a snot nosed, bitter, grumpy "why do I have to do this" interview like Bo gave. Really? Because they could have hired my neighbor. Super nice guy, always happy, smiling whistling. But has never watched a down of football. But, so long as he is nice and gives a good interview. Yup. But you see snarky Teach, Mike has watched a down of football. But that wasn't you point, was it? Your point was you don't care about wins. I don't think that is the case. I think you care about the team winning. I think we all do. My point was that if this season was like last season no, I wouldn't care about wins. I think you need the morals and ethics to get them and sometimes that doesn't come overnight. I was disappointed last year, absolutely - but not angry or bitter or blaming the coaching staff. I was prouder of the team last year than any winning season under Bo. There is a broader picture and I feel you can have both. You're treating the two as if they're mutually exclusive. You can have both. You can have a respectable coach who wins games. You can also just be honest and say you prefer MR over Bo. I'll agree with you. I don't know if MR was the right hire, but I still think he's a better choice than Bo. I also don't blame MR for last years 5-7 season, although I believe it is him and his staffs fault for a couple of those losses. I'm optimistic for the future of Nebraska football under Riley. Hopefully he can have some success. But he needs to have success, because Nebraska expects championships. If we don't win a conference championship, or perhaps at least contend for one in the next 4 years, he'll be gone. But I'm sure he knows that. At the very least, I trust his judgement. I think he has handled a lot of situations well and I think he is a good role model for the student athletes.
  13. Easy to support your coach when he is winning. Let's see what happens when he drops a few games.
  14. And f#*k those people. Maybe there is. Maybe I'm just naive. And maybe it's more prevalent in other regions. Regardless, the point of the thread is to show support for our players and what they do, not to discuss political issues. I want current and future husker athletes to know that the vast majority of our fans are not going to judge or harass them for their beliefs, and that the vast majority of us will call out those who do.
  15. Let me just say this. If MRI missed a tackle and cost the huskers the game, would you support people sending him and his family death threats? Neither would I. I was with you. "Three huskers kneeled during the national anthem" and my first thought was who cares. But when I realized that people feel so strongly about this topic that they are willing to threaten the players, I started to care.I don't want to be lumped in with a group of moron's who harass student athletes.
  16. First off, if you have the time, listen to him address his comments on Monday: https://soundcloud.com/game-time-with-nick-bahe/micheal-rose-ivey-addressing-his-protest-92616 Next, I want to say that I support this guy for what he did. I don't agree with the protest. I don't believe there is systemic racism within our culture, however I support this man's right to protest what he feels unjust, regardless. Finally, I want to say that regardless of your beliefs, you should never make personal attacks or threats against someone just because they have different views. How f'ing childish. I believe the majority of husker fans are great people who support the team and the players. Unfortunately there are bad people in this world and you can't do anything about them defacing the group. Hopefully MRI and all the other players know not to let a small group of shitheads skew their view of true Husker fans.
