There are certain people at Nebraska that are not wanting the baggage. Don't know who. I am not saying I don't believe you but that's a BIG statement for a first time poster. I will take the bait.... Would you kindly be willing to elaborate on this comment "I know for a fact Tressel was interested" ? first time poster on this site. been on other sites for quite some time. was brought here by a friend referring to this "sock puppet" creature so I thought I had to check it out. He said it was pretty funny. I am not going to elaborate on the comment. Take it or leave it. I know that anyone claiming info from within Nebraska Athletic Dept you have to take with a grain of salt. SE is very tight lipped and keeping it close to the chest. Not saying all is BS, but a vast majority is. I understand if you don't want to elaborate on the comment. Care to help us sift through any of the BS on this thread.....? You mentioned a vast majority of this info is BS. Can you squash any rumors or info that you've read and know to be BS? Anything you tell us will be very much appreciated and taken with a grain of salt : )

My thoughts... SE had the wheels turning long ago. His business with sweater vest is wrapped up! Tressel flew in on Sunday...singed some papers, shake some hands kissed some babies and left town. The great sock said they were still nailing down some details. Maybe those details are not with Tressel but with Frost. I would guess things would be a little more complicated with his contract/job duties/expectations/bonuses/salary and the University of Oregon. Oregon will probably be playing in the National Championship...that's something to consider for both sides(Oregon and Frost)and the timeline.

The sock puppet has been a reliable conduit of interesting tidbits and insider knowledge thus far. He sorts through the B.S and has been spot on with the information he chooses to release. I would assume at this point in the game he knows who he can trust. Currently everything has been pretty much spot on. Last night we was 75% sure Tressel was "N" I am holding out hope for the sweater vest....or at least until the sock puppet says differently. At this point in time he is the only reliable source I would believe on this board. I would guess everything is being wrapped up and they want it tight lipped for obvious reasons until they make the announcement. And Shawn and the new hire are currently the only two that know when that will be. IMO sock puppet has already given us all the news...what else is there for him to report? His insider has reported all he knows. The wheels are in motion and we are just waiting for Shawn to announce a press conference. This is all speculation of course.

I am now convinced seal team 6 is involved in this coaching search one way or another. No Joke!

There's been a few claims of Tressel being spotted in or around Lincoln yesterday. My question.... With all the press coming out of Lincoln and Husker fanatics "stalkers" lurking around every corner with camera phones why no pictures? No pictures, no autographs, nobody that had an actual conversation with the guy, no pictures of the plane, was nobody else on that plane? No airport staff talking about seeing him....etc. A lot of different sources claim to have spotted sweater vest but I've currently seen zero physical evidence he was actually here. I am pulling for it to be true but I'd love to see a lot more smoke right now. It's like seal team 6 escorted him in and out of Lincoln or something. I didn't see the local news... Did anyone get double tapped in Lincoln yesterday?

But everything I am reading and seeing all signs are pointing to No Tressel. Why would he be in Lincoln yesterday? I do believe he was in town. Tressel IMO would be the splash hire we need right now. Comparing resumes to the other names being tossed around...anyone else would seem like a major let down.

I sure hope Barney and Ron are working double time to calm the waters with our current players and recruits. I could see them being the only two left that could have any impact or voice of reasoning. In the same breath the longer we wait to announce the longer Barney is in charge. Yikes! This is a vital and sensitive time for our program... I pray to The Almighty Sock! that Shawn knows what the F he's doing.

Here is what scares me ..... Socket puppet mentioned "someone else" ... Not sure why but that gives me an uneasy feeling. We all know there is a short list already from the names being tossed around. Who knows the big 10 better than Tressel whether you like him or not...? With the few names being dropped I believe recruiting, winning immediately and giving us the best shot at a championship is Tressel. He is respected in the business and IMO could settle the waters quicker than anyone. We lost 3 commits already and morale amongst the players is lower today than when we got curbed stomped by whisky. No joke!!

Good god sock puppet master of all that's holy regarding Husker football..... Tell me "someone else" is as good or better option as Tressel. This needs to be a huge hire to save face, recruits and hope. This hire needs to squash any doubt or uncertainty about whether this was a good move or not.

Holy Bob Devaney's ghost! I hope that's not the case. The feelers should've been out last year already. Hopefully they've had a short list of "realistic" candidates they know NU can buy. At the end of the day it boils down to "show me the money" In the now or new era of college football...loyalty, tradition, TO or the best fans in college football sales pitch doesn't work anymore. As kids we were taught if you see something you want..work hard, save your pennies and go get it. Well hopefully Shawn has been doing his homework while the boosters have been saving up their pennies. If we are making a change the wheels better be turning. If they're spinning right now we stuck! and SOL!

At this point in time I don't think anyone knows 100% what's going to happen. Otherwise somebody would put all this speculation to bed. For now it's he said, she said, my buddy text me, an old guy at the bar said....chirp, chirp, chirp! It's called whistling Dixie and it's worth as much as you're willing to bolieve. Still very entertaining though....

This isn't good news until I hear who the new man in charge will be. I'd have to think making this type of decision they'd have to have a damn good candidate lined up. This new guy will have to be proven, confident and would have to be a little crazy to be up for this challenge. Can he coach, delegate, can he recruit, can he lead us to the promise land? Because at this point the fan expectations are boiling over and the coaching seat at Nebraska is always going to be hot!! Unless you win championships. Good luck Shawn Eichorst....you're going to need it.

No Offence sock puppet but I've got a dolla wait'n on a dime Neigh! I like insider info just as much as the next guy but this post deserves a C'mon man! Bo chews his staffs ass on National TV (no secrets there) and the rumblings about Arkansas is last years news. And the info about Caputo developing the game plans to block/run....? I am sorry I just don't buy it for a second. This makes zero sense on every level....especially to the assistants getting paid good money for what? That would be grounds that Bo has lost his mind or just helping his cause to get canned. I am sorry sock puppet you are entertaining and I'll keep following your posts. But we all have to be reminded that at the end of the day you are just a puppet.
