I feel the same way but unfortunately this thread is dead. I've went through the 5 stages of grief after hearing the news. 1. Denial 2. Anger 3. Bargaining 4. Depression 5. Acceptance Now it's time to put on our big boy pants and get behind our new head coach. It was fun wishing in one hand and sh*t'n in the other while it lasted. mr. Sock you tried to do the right thing but got duped! If anything I think HB members should be pissed at the so called "insiders" feeding you the garbage. I am not mad at you sock. You were just reporting what you were hearing. You said you were a conduit and thats exactly what you became when the verdict came in. What some fans wanted to say to SE they said to you. Yes! You had some bad info but that didn't change who the new head coach of Nebraska would be. If I were you I'd lay low for a day or three or longer : ) Unfortunately your contacts are feeding you bad info and they shouldn't be trusted. I do want to thank you for the entertainment and laughs though....this thread was fun! As for the new hire I've settled down and realized you can't blame this guy for wanting to join the Husker family. For Husker Football all I can say is "Get busy living, or get busy dying" .... I watched the ESPN breaking news video on Mike Riley as NEB new head coach They were saying how great of a hire and how much different his demeanor was than Bo Pelini. As that was being said they showed Riley yelling throwing his headset to the ground! Ha! just saying....I got a good chuckle out of it. GBR!!!!

My level of excitement for Husker football has just hit rock bottom. If I had the choice...Hire Riley or give Bo one more year...I pick Pelini! Never thought I'd say this but I miss the guy. The rumor yesterday about Bret B. I said anybody but! Well...In all honesty I'd be happier with Bret B. as our HC....F*#@!!!! Hope this guy can recruit. Ha! After this hire SE is definitely a Whisky guy at heart.

Like I said earlier this thread is gone girl cray! Tracking flights, mini meltdowns (including myself), stalking media outlets, rumors running wild. I am not sure I can take another full day of all this excitement.

If you want to catch the mouse you have to follow the bread crumbs. And IMO the trail leads to Tressel. I am not sure what part he is playing in all this but there's something going on (that's of course if we can trust the sources) "Supposedly" he was Spotted in Lincoln by multiple sources, hasn't denied or squashed anything rumors yet and mr sock was 75% sure it was sweater vest until his source disappeared like a fart in the wind. If it's not Tressel SE truly is one sneaky little rat. With no other rumors of visiting coaches that we know of would the hire go down site unseen? Just something to think about.... You'd think the new HD would like to tour, see the facilities, feel things out before committing to something. I have no idea how these things work just throwing out my 3 cents.

What's with the smiley face? You seem to know what's going on...or at least more than 90% of us. Without disclosing any information will the majority of us have the same reaction? I think so. Maybe not initially but I think once the initial announcement fades and people start to realize the staff being pieced together I think Nebraska fans can unite behind staff Nice post. Wow! This thread isn't just nuts it's morphed into Gone Girl Cray!! Tracking flights, stalking social media, strategically placed decoys, sifting through "worded" clues and a damn sock puppet. Entertainment at its absolute finest! So from what I've gathered (reading HB) our grain of salt shortlist of HC in no particular order... -Tressel -Frost -Harbaugh -Shaw Does that sound about right? Alright off to make some popcorn and grab a coke.

I concur...Throw in M. Roses mom's tweets about Tressel being the next HC...etc...too much smoke to not mean something...Tressel has a role in all of this. I must of missed something. Did she delete the tweet? ...... Interesting !

For what? A bigger name hire than Tressel? I hear what you're screaming but I highly doubt SE would go through the trouble and Tressel would play along. Again I don't think the rest of the nation really cares and I can promise you they're not updating HB every 5 minutes. This is Husker-mania at its finest. And the only ones psyching it up is ourselves. No joke!!
