If Bo is going to be the new Nebraska head coach, then he will not stay at LSU for the NC. He has a lot of work to do for recruiting and putting together a staff. He cannot wait 4 weeks before working on these items at NU and he will not be able to do both job effectivly.

I say 9-4 (with a win in our Bowl game). With an improvement on defense, we win 3 or 4 more games this year. We will have a better defense next year and we will not lose a lot of offense (assuming Lucky does not go tot he NFL). Our biggest lose will be Purify, but we still have some good WR and another Juco probably coming wiht this class. Maybe we can squeak out a 10th win, but I believe 9-4 is what we can expect.

I fully support Pelini. ALthough I would have perfered Gill, I am have no issue with Pelini.

Wish you would not use the ESPN spelling of Osborne. While we are at it...maybe we can bring back Frnach Solich as the running backs coach.

Don't know...would kind of be funny. Or maybe he plans on having whole staff announced at the same time. Or maybe it is just what everybody is saying -- Pelini. Or...

Are we even sure that Bo will be the coach? ESPN has Les Miles going o Michigan based on sources...now he is staying at LSU. I'll admit that I would rather see Gill, but Bo should be a good hire also -- it's just that I am not sure I believe any of these sources at the moment. Until I see the Press Conference...I will still have some doubt.

As I posted in another thread. The delay does not rule Turner out at all. He and his team were being honored at the Buffalo Basketball game last night. Dr. Tom would not do anything to take away from the recognition that the school wants to bestow on that team, so therefore he would wait and let them enjoy what they have earned. Just another thought on why it could be delayed and still be Turner...

I do not agree with that statement. Look at what they did at Buffalo last night -- they honored the Football Team and Gill at the Basketball game. Dr. Tom knew this -- why would he do anything that would spoil that celebration for that program and for Gill. He waits so Buffalo and Gill can enjoy what they have accomplished by delaying an announcement until next week. Just a thought... It already does Don't they still have Wannstedt as the football coach? Didn't Pederson want to hire him before he went through his hiring mess? Does that mean we do not have to pay all of Pederson's buyout? he's already been paid i believe, its not an ongoing contract like the assistant coaches his buyout was due within 30? days of his firing going off memory, so that's just what i remember Good point. I forgot about that 30 day thing...

Knew they liked him and since you mention it, I do remember the BB program was improved under him. Just thought his image might be a bit tarnished now. Maybe setting up an identity at a school that does not have the tradition Nebraska has will be a better fit.

If that were the case then why in hell did we even hire a search firm? My biggest draw back on Gill will be is this....Who actually will be running the team? The HC or the AD? For that EXACT reason that is why I don't want Gill here! I am beginning to think that many who want Gill back are really hoping that TO runs the team with Gill being the "yes man" that carries out the orders, coaching, etc. Again, that is one of the main reasons I DON'T want Gill here! Yes it was a hell of a run in the 90's, thinking about it still makes people feel all warm and fuzzy. Watching Osborne out think the other team, rolling through the Big 12 schools and then playing in NC games. I admit those days were great as a Husker fan. I guess what I am trying to say is this, the Days of Tom Osborne coaching the Huskers ARE OVER. Some of us need to LET IT GO! I am one who would love to see Gill as a HC (not that I would mind having Pelini or Johnson or...etc). Tom hires a search firm to come up with coaches to help keep his personal bias out of the equation up front. It gives him a list of potential canidates that he has not hand picked (though maybe his search criteria help a couple get on the list). I also believe Tom will NOT interfere with the coaching at all. Gill is his own man and has proven he knows how to establish a staff and allow his assistents do there work. This is probably the one reason I like Gill over Pelini. Gill does not have the be the overall motivator -- he needs just to make sure he has the right mix of people in to do that work.

Don't think so...more just selling Nebraska and letting them understand that he is in control -- things will be okay.

Maybe Dr. Tom is waiting until after the weekend to talk to Johnson or some other coach that has a game this weekend. With Osborne on the recruiting trail at the moment, does that mean he is the interim head coach?

With the list of canidates that we have (Grobe, Gill, Pelini, Kelly, Johnson?), I would be okay with any of these guys...though Gill, Pelini, and Kelly would be my favorites. I cannot how many times I have wavered on who I think should be hired.

I not even tracking my hours...but I multi-task really well...at least I keep telling myself that.

I'm sure a guy interviewing for the Nebraska job would be wearing a Wake Forest cap in Lincoln...
