  1. How good is your source? I'm hearing some conflicting info right now. What is this 'conflicting info' you speak of??
  2. Not at the moment. But it could be the case. It would make sense. N as in Nebraska bound, or N as in Notre Dame bound?
  3. Wonder if Fajardo is regretting cancelling his visit to Lincoln this weekend...
  4. Thanks! If he is injured, hope it's not serious!
  5. I thought Cory Cooper was supposed to play in this game but haven't seen him once. Did I miss him, or is he not there. Also, Moudy Started at OT for USA.
  6. Very interesting.....check out comment # 65 http://thebiglead.com/index.php/2010/01/29/as-signing-day-nears-recruiting-battles-intensify/#comments
  7. That bold part sounds like he's at least leaning towards NU. It is different, in a way that a lot of people on the outside just can't understand. I'm thinking/hoping that's what brings him N When you read the entire quote, his statement of "It's just different" could also mean that all 3 schools are different...I hope you're right though. "Oregon State, I'm kind of used to the people and everything. The area, everything. UCLA is a different setting, more of a city, sunshine. Nebraska is kind of more like OSU in the sense that it's not big, more of a college atmosphere, a college town. They're big on football there with that tradition. It's just different."
  8. Thanks man! Next year obviously has the potential to be a huge recruiting year!
  9. Does anybody know when Rivals will release their 2011 prospect rankings??
  10. I read on the Big Red Report(facebook) that yoshi made a comment after Munson stated that David took at trip to USF. Right after that comment was posted, Yoshi said, he is coming. Yoshi was not happy with David taking that trip. I have a thoery on why he went. Chasing some tail????? Free trip in my opinion. There is plenty of reason to worry here. Bo is mad about the trip, and word is David is 50/50 on NU USF. Good chance David is not in this class. http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/meet_the_parents.html According to this, David's coach fully expects him to be N and is excited about it. FWIW
  11. http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/meet_the_parents.html Meet the parents Posted by: Steve Sipple on January 28, 2010 at 12:37PM CST It's easy to become cynical about recruiting, which is why I'm sharing this tidbit about Bo Pelini as a recruiter. We all know that junior college offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick has signed his letter of intent and already is working out with Nebraska in its winter conditioning program. Even so, Pelini made it a point to visit Hardrick's family the other day in Batesville, Miss. (population 7,100). "Bo thinks it's important to meet all the players' parents," said Jeff Sims, fourth-year head coach at Fort Scott (Kan.) Community College, where Hardrick played the last two seasons. "Even though Jermarcus was already at Nebraska, Bo thought it was very important to go down there. That's pretty cool. You don't always see that. "Let me tell you something about Bo Pelini. I deal with a lot of college coaches, and Bo Pelini on television has this demeanor that is the exact opposite of who he really is. "Bo Pelini is one of the most kind, honest, down-to-earth, straightforward people that I've ever been around, and that's why we send our guys to Nebraska." Nebraska's 2010 recruiting class also features a verbal commitment from linebacker Lavonte David of Fort Scott CC via Miami, Fla. "He's got the best ball skills I've ever seen in a football player," Sims said. of the 6-foot-1, 214-pound David "He just knows football. He's excited about being a Cornhusker." David is set to sign Wednesday. Fort Scott also produced current Nebraska wideout Brandon Kinnie, who had 15 receptions for 141 yards this past season and "absolutely loves it" at NU, Sims said.
  12. I agree. I have no problem with Adrian Fiala, so I'm actually surprised there seems to be so much animosity towards him. He was a quality announcer in my eyes and I generally enjoyed what he had to say. So what if he "said stuff we already all knew"? It seems like some of you don't even listen to sports talk on a regular basis. Most of what sports announcers say is stuff we already know. The only people in sports who tell us what we don't know are the guys on ESPN giving us breaking news. People always find ways to screw up a good thing. Yes, it was a little unorthodox to have a play-by-play announcer and two color guys, but I enjoyed it. Matt and Adrian added their own spice to the show. I don't see why we have to be like every other school and have only two radio guys. Just because it's the "norm" doesn't mean it's right. Maybe because i haven't listened to a football game on the radio in forever has something to do with this... But why the love? Have you ever listened to the guy do a baseball game? He is TERRIBLE. Couldn't agree more. Terrible
  13. He's usually on just after 4pm central time. http://www.1620thezone.com/

  15. http://my.journalstar.com/post/Husker_Extra_Group/Husker_Extra/blog/anaheim_qb_to_visit.html Looks Like Fajardo is visiting Lincoln...Certainly appears to be the back up plan to Carnes.
  16. I'm not a big smiley guy, but in this case ........... I love me some Damon Benning! Now there's a guy that gives some insightful analysis on things Husker. I'm always interested to get his take on things. That said, it may be tough to get him on the show full-time considering his gig as the head football coach at Omaha Northwest. Nice thought though!
  17. Completely agree regarding Fiala. He made Big Red Wrap Up almost unwatchable this past season. I'm sorry to hear that he'll be keeping that gig. I rarely listen to the radio broadcasts so I don't really have an opinion on that side of it. Regarding Davison, I can see how some people find him annoying. I haven't heard him much on radio broadcasts, but I've seen him on Big Red Wrap Up a few times. I value his insight and analysis much more than Fiala's. Davison seems to be more honest and his analysis more relevant (although he does seem to be kind of a douche). Fiala seemed to just chime in for the sole purpose of chiming in and rarely added anything to the analysis, and often, did not flow with the rest of the guys. Seems like a stand up guy, but his time was up. Sorry.
  18. Hallelujah!! While I've appreciated Mr. Fiala's service to Husker Nation, it was time. IMO, he added nothing to the broadcast most average fans didn't already know. Personally, I want someone in the booth (and on Big Red Wrapup) who is not afraid to use productive criticism. Fiala seemed like too much of a "company man" to provide a fair broadcast. I want someone who is going to tell it like it is instead of someone who is going to sugarcoat things. Sorry. Good luck to you, Mr. Fiala!
  19. if it's the right four i hope (and think) we would make room. If the 4 are Owa, Cooper, Carnes, and Fulton then yes the staff makes room. However I don't see the O-Line Coach leaving Tennessee as being a big factor here. Fulton's primary recruiter is their OC and he isn't going anywhere. I also heard Sanders took a trip to visit Fulton after his visit with Cooper this week...
  20. Word on another board is that Fulton may possibly be back on the table with the Vol OL coach moving on. Wonder if we would take 4 if we get Carnes, Owa, and Cooper...??
