  1. Wrong. It's a valid job description and Pelini knows about it and knows that it's out there. In the article he denies knowledge of the job description. He's lying. He knows it's out there. Regardless if the job(s) have been filled he knows about this job posting is out on their system. To assume he doesn't know it's out there is 100% wrong. I know you well enough to know that I'm not going to conVince you of anything. All I can say is that your understanding of this situation is not entirely correct, and that's throwing your analysis off a little. Carry on.
  2. I am very glad to have been of service. +1 to you, good sir.
  3. Sorry, I just saw this. That theory is not correct. Jobs don't get reposted in this manner for these kinds of contracts. Typically the negotiations are held prior to the end of the actual contract, and the new contract takes effect seamlessly after the last one ends. Therefore there's no opening, and no requirement to post the job. The fact that this job was posted simply means, to me, that a "playcalling position" is not going to be filled by Shawn Watson in 2011. It does not mean that someone has been hired, nor does it mean that Watson is fired/gone specifically. I say that because he could be in the process of being reassigned - a process which could ultimately fail, and he would sever ties with UNL. This allows Bo to say that "nobody has been fired." I believe it means that we have an in-process hire for Watson's position right now. The fact that it will not be refilled by Watson means UNL must post it as an open position. Of course they have zero intention of looking at any applications they get for this position, because they already have a short list of candidates, and (I believe) a person chosen already. They are likely in the negotiation/background check/drug test phase right now, which allows Bo to parse his words to the effect that "nobody has been hired yet."
  4. That posting isn't indicative that the job is currently open. It's a CYA move, nothing more. The only thing it signals to me is that the OC position will not be filled by Watson next year. As has been said, you could parse the words Bo said to mean that someone has already been "hired" for the position on a handshake deal. That job posting isn't worth the electrons it inconvenienced to create it. It's just a bunch of 1's and 0's arranged in a certain way. Don't be fooled by it.
  5. I see what you're saying. I have zero info on Frost coming back to Nebraska, other than purely circumstantial stuff. I have no idea what's going on in his head or if he wants to come back. Circumstantial stuff includes the fact that he still owns a house here, he still has connections to his church here, he has connections to some charitable and philanthropic organizations here, etc. No smoking guns at all.
  6. Considering the fact that this was Oregon's first EVER trip to the MNC, and it was bolstered by a statistical anomaly in the rankings thanks to the Pac-10's round-robin schedule and relatively weak Non-Con schedules, I would be stunned if they even sniffed the Championship this year. A lot of stars aligned for Oregon to make it to the title game. A lot of those stars fell out of alignment with the addition of two schools to the Pac-10 and their CCG. It's not impossible. It's just highly unlikely. Same goes for Nebraska, though. Highly unlikely.
  7. Not only is it proper, it's a federally protected right. So.... get over it.
  8. Frost likes it in Oregon, and they love him there. They do NOT want him to go, so they'd likely work to keep him. He's in a position of strength for sure. He has no reason to jump ship right now unless the offer is just right.
  9. That is exactly what most of us thought when you had your fit.
  10. I gave him crap for posting his articles because we didn't have an agreement in place. Turns out Sam is buddies with the proprietor of HuskerBoard. I emailed him, but between the two of us I think we may have succeeded in driving him off.
  11. No, but Sam reads HuskerBoard and speaks to us through his articles quite often.
  12. Ron Brown personifies Nebraska Football. Anyone thinking his departure is "no big deal" should seriously consider becoming a fan of another team.
  13. Since we have a more pertinent Watson thread, we're going to shut this one down.
  14. Only first part of my post was directed towards you. Rest was opinion. But I know it is funny that I usually respond to you. But I have yet to meet someone as routinely wrong as you are. You should invest in a mirror.
  15. That's so stupid! There's a Colorado fan on Vine street between 27th & 33rd who's lived there over ten years. He has a CU flag hanging from his front porch EVERY SINGLE DAY. He has CU bumper stickers on his car and he has some other crap on his porch. If we did all that stuff he'd have had to buy 100 flags by now, and frankly, if he's living in that house he can't afford a new flag each year, let alone 100. People love to talk about how horrible we are, but it's all such bunk.
  16. You definitely need a thicker skin if the gentle joshing you received (after you started it, no less) made you go off the deep end like that.
  17. Thread locked because people can't follow the rules. Don't post stuff like that in the Football Forum. That's why we have Daily Skin and the Woodshed.
  18. Not seeing any comments. Disabled? And what you would have seen over there was incorrect anyway. Since you seem to have the correct version (you've eluded to that multiple times recently) - care to set us straight? I have alluded to it, and I've also explained that we are not posting that on the boards due to possible legal issues associated with the situation.
  19. This is not coming from Watson up to Bo. As has been made abundantly clear, the door has been wide open for Watson to leave two years in a row. When Watson goes, if he doesn't already have a job, it'll be from Bo, saying, "We gave you a chance to find something. Now it's time for you to go." Watson has bills to pay. He's not going to voluntarily leave a job paying hundreds of thousands of dollars.
  20. Not seeing any comments. Disabled? And what you would have seen over there was incorrect anyway.
  21. That is absolutely hilarious. I admit that I've never paid much attention to Iowa football except when we trounced them a few times in the past, but if that's the case... that's sad.
  22. All right, he stays. But only because everyone's having so much fun jumping on him.
