  1. Just be sure the wife has an open mind and the kids are grown, right?
  2. On the bottom left of the forums, what options do you have for skins? I've had the same trouble you're having, and I'm 90% sure that once we get the final tweaks made to the skins and get them up, you'll be fine.
  3. I don't get the reference. What happened to Kansas in 2007? KU backed into the Orange Bowl after they lost to MU head to head and MU lost to OU in the title game. I hate Mizzou, but that was a hose job. You were supposed to let him answer that. I know very well what happened in 2007.
  4. And you hear players talking about being ____ point underdogs all the time. I'm surprised people haven't heard about that.

  6. Absolutely teams feel disrespected by Vegas betting lines, and play with a chip on their shoulder because of them. That's not unusual at all.
  7. I think we're more likely to have an influx of trolls after the game if Missouri wins than prior to the game. After all the mouth-shooting last year, and the crushing loss, the kind of person willing to troll an opponent's board is less likely to put themselves out there again - they don't want to suffer the embarrassment again. If Missouri wins the braggarts and blowhards will return. And they'll last about as long as a French trooper on the Maginot Line.
  8. Have you voted for Sydney today? I did. See the thread in Other Husker Sports.

  10. Never fear. We have a pretty active crew of Mods this year, so if you see anything, report it and it'll get taken care of.
  11. The reason we have two/three guys run up to the punt protection unit and stop is to guard against the fake. We got burned on a fake earlier this year, and we aren't about to let it happen again. The reason the gunners get downfield all the time is that you can't hold them. Any skilled player is going to get away from a guy who can only bump into you nine times out of ten, and gunners are typically pretty talented.
  12. Absolutely. Look how well that worked for Nebraska when we got our vengeance against Texas.
  13. This is where not watching a game and looking at a box score can sometimes throw you off. SDSU is a good runing team. #35 in the country, 185+ a game, nearly 6 yrds a carry. Pretty good. But their game against MU came down to 2 plays. A fluke run when in a rugby scrum a OL grabed and discuss spun the RB out of the pile and he went to the house. The other was just a bad play by Mu and one of the few times they were undisiplined. Two tigers had a chance to stop the play for no gain or 1 yard and both got out of control and lowerd their heads. Those 2 plays accounted for 168 yrds. Outside of that SDSU ran for 82 yrds on 31 trys. SDSU could not run the ball the entire night. Now here is the BUT.....MU did make the mistake on the 75 yarder. They havent made many this year, but NE has the players to make you pay if you do. The 97 yarder was a fluke play if I have ever seen one. A play like that may never happen again in my lifetime. Nu's best shot is to be balanced. Same with MU. Should be a good game Saturn was talking about our game vs. South Dakota State, not Missouri's game vs. San Diego State. I agree that it should be a good game - if both teams bring their A game. If either one doesn't show up properly, it'll be a blowout either way. Knappy, i was responding to Saturns statment "San Diego State had success running the ball against Missouri, and I would hope our offense is better than theirs." I was just saying that the box score was a little misleading on just how "successful" SDSU was Yep, you're right. I saw where Saturn wrote SDSU/Texas and flew right over the San Diego State thing. Nevermind.

  15. I don't have a good answer to that one. This year is as bad as any I've seen in trying to figure out who's good and who isn't. Missouri is good, deserving of a top-ten rank, maybe not top five, but good enough that they're no fluke and nobody can say they don't belong up there. I would most likely rank them at six than at two. I think Oregon is the clear best team in the country, followed by Auburn or Boise St, and after that it's a crapshoot.
  16. That's really too bad, all the more so because he should have been starting this whole time. He made Colorado a headache to defend. If he doesn't have some miracle recovery and we only have to face Hawkins Jr., we're going to waltz through these guys.
  17. I had this problem with Firefox for a while, but only on my Mac at home. Are you on a Mac or PC, Epoc?
  18. I think if we want to turn this into a discussion of a particular poster, it needs to go to the Woodshed. Let's try to remain on topic, please.
  19. jesus, did you break out the abbacus for that? Nope. Just looked HERE, and did some simple math on Excel.
  20. Yes, I clearly don't know how to support the logic of my position, so I've just deleted this whole thread. Obviously not this one, but you have on other ones. If you're going to slander me, at least slander me for things I'm guilty of. I have never locked or deleted a thread to "win" a discussion. Everyone who's read the gazillion discussions I've been in over the past three years here at HuskerBoard know this is crap. I like to debate 1,000,000,000 times more than I like to lock a thread. If threads get locked it's because there's been a violation or (as in the case of the idiot who posted the second Taylor Martinez/Walter Camp thread) a duplicate. It has nothing to do with thinking of retorts.
  21. We held the ball more in the second half than in the first, and Bo had told Watson to eat some clock. I think our TOP in the first half was 14 minutes compared to over 21 minutes in the second half.
  22. In the first half OK State held the ball 16 minutes and scored 1.69 points per minute. In the second half OK State held the ball for 8:52 and scored 1.52 points per minute.
  23. Both of these things happened. The defense played much better and the offense ate clock. In the first half we held them to three-and-out in their first possession. OK State then had six straight possessions where they either scored immediately or sustained drives. In the second half, the Pokes went three-and-out on three of their five possessions. That's a heck of a lot better percentage.
